I have had a history of discomfort in that shoulder for a while but It came and went. This is the 1st time I have ever had the pain so bad that I went to a medical professional. The X Rays came back looking fine and I was sent to a Orthopedic. I was diagnosed with tendinitis and given Voltaren-XR and Percocet. For the 1st 2 days the pain got better and at one point on the 4th day I forgot I was hurt. The next day I felt some discomfort but went away after a walk.
I have had pain in my shoulder for at least 6 months. At first I thought it was from cycling everyday for the last 20 years. I have had several mishaps in the last year or two including one bad bicycle crash where my left eyeball went blood shot for a week and also several very bad falls skiing.
This pain in my left shoulder grew so intense I can not at times turn my head to the left to see who is behind me. The pain is more intense in the evening and wakes me at 3am every night.

I've been on 30 mg of morphine a day for over 2 yrs and percs for over 4 to treat pain from a significant shoulder injury that has resulted in 2 surgeries and over 80 visits of pt. I'm now in unbearable pain from herniated disks and possible pudendal nerve damage. My neuro says that if surgery is needed, it would be hard to control my pain. My question is, how long do I need to be off of the meds before they will effectively work again?
I have degenerative joint disease and near complete rotator cuff tears affecting both shoulders and am going to schedule my first of two Reverse Total Shoulder Joint Replacements soon. I have for 2 years taken one 5/325mg Percocet with acetaminophen one time daily at 6pm and maybe twice a week added one more at noon (to get through chores as arm movement is quite painful). I thought by keeping the dose so low and suffering through the pain...

I also take percocet along with neurontin (gabapentin). The gabapentin is very similar to lyrica. I drink coffee 4-5 days per week and I haven't encountered any issues and I have been on percocet for almost a year and gabapentin for almost 2 years. I don't think there are any severe reactions when coffee is mixed with percocet or lyrica or both.
cvs refuses to fill my husbands script for ms contin and percocet, i understand all of the problems with the oxycontin because of all the addiction. unfortunately, my husband had his shoulder crushed in a coal mining accident and he does experience alot of pain. how can a pharmacist not fill a persons scripts? they do not know the history of his injuries. to me this judgemental and discrimation.
I was on Percocet 10/325mg about a week with 180 pills which lasted about 1 1/2 weeks so i dont know if i will get a double whammy from that. I have been on various pain meds. for about 6 yrs now and want to find out if my pain is coming from the meds and my head or if it's that bad anymore. I have been on Percocet (10 mg 4 times per day, 1 pill every 4 hours) for about 4 months, before that 3 10mg pills per day. My dr. just switched me to Morphine Sulfate ER 30 MG, 2 tablets per day (one every 12 hours). I'm always nervous when I switch or increase pain meds. I start these new meds tomorrow...can anyone tell me what to expect with regard to how this new medicine may affect me vs. the percocets I've been taking?
Followed by more severe chest pain, and much worse electrical like shocks. Not even percocet would work for my pain. So i waited to see if the pain would go away and it never did. Then, i started noticing new symptoms. The first one was tingling in my right shoulder. It seems to occur when i bend forward or when i am hotter like in the shower or in the sun. I waited to see if that goes away and it never does. Then i started getting muscle spams in my legs and arms.
I asked him what he was on and he told me that someone at his work gave him a Vicodin and that it is not as bad as a Percocet. He then told me that he would probably be getting a Rx for in soon anyway because of his upcoming surgery to fix his shoulder on January 27th. I then told him the pain management appointment that we are going to tomorrow is for that exactly.
Dependent versus addicted can be complicated. To be honest, I never understood it until I ended up on percocet after a surgery. The surgery failed and I had 7 more, along with many procedures and medication. I see a pain management physician and they prescribe my medications. I have always been super aware of addiction due to being married to an addict.
I have been taking on average 3 5mg of percocet a day for the past 7 months I have had 2 shoulder surgeries the second was done last week and I was feeling awesome it is finally fixed so I quit taking the pain pills I am into day 3 and I haven't noticed anything should I be expecting some terrible withdraw to start soon I mean I hope not just curious if I should feeling it by now?
