Avatar n tn Is it possible that I may have some liver or kidney damage after being on this for 2 years? I started with one 5mg tablet 3 times/day and when my leg was better, then I was increasing and taking once a day, and as I said I am now on 2 10mg pills in the morning. I don't want to increase. I want to stop NOW! But is it possible that I have done some liver / kidney damage?
Avatar f tn Mental fatigue, liver damage from Tylenol, kidney trouble as you mentioned, endorphin production is halted etc.. All of these can happen.
Avatar n tn Heart palpatations and irregular heart beats are a serious side effect of the medication. Since your friend has been taking percocet for years, he/she is addicted to the medication. When the medication starts to wear off, he/she is experiencing a withdrawal which can cause heart palpatations and irregular heart beats due to anxiety. Here's a list of side effects and severity: http://www.webmd.com/drugs/drug-7277-Percocet+Oral.aspx?
Avatar n tn I was prescribed percocet once for a kidney infection...I was young and I just thought I had a severe flu w/bad back pain. (sorry for the tmi but no burning when i urinated) So anyhow I ignored it for a week b/c like I said I was young and didn't have insurance finally I was so dehydrated and my back was hurting so bad I was taken to the ER. So they did prescribe the pain rx due to the severity of the pain I was in and how far I let it go.

It would be so easy to make this all go away.......... but I won't go there, I won't make that call..... my sanity is my music right now.... amazing how music can get you through any bad situation.... 489000 tn?1364302227 They treated me up in labor and delivery and monitored Sophia while I was there. After giving me two pills of percocet, I started to feel better. The dx at that time was a kidney stone. So, they sent me home with a script for percocet, to drink lots of fluids, to continue my antibiotic, and hopefully the stone would pass. Well, after 2 hours the pain came back (called MD and said after 3 hours that I could take more percocet.
Avatar n tn I recently was able to stop my addiction to painkillers, mostly percocet or vicodin. I am now wondering what kind of damage I've done to my liver, kidneys and stomach. I had my gall bladder removed 4 years ago, and have had many stomach problems since, all the while I was still taking painpills. I also had a kidney infection since then. If anybody could let me know what it takes to cause serious damage to these important organs or what to do to find out, I would greatly appreciate it.
Avatar n tn I found the percocet to be 100% more effective than the dilaudid for pain management of kidney stones. even though the dilaudid is stronger...the percocet did much more for my pain...so it might be worth switching to that just on that merit alone :-). do they have you on a preventative antibiotic? when is your next follow-up? feel free to msg me if you ever have a question!
614661 tn?1267273924 m glad Tuck mentioned that Acetaminophen can damage the Kidneys and I want to add that it can also damage the Liver so be careful...you only have one liver and the body needs it.
Avatar m tn For short periods these are great but long term use not only causes liver damage but NSAIDs used long term(over 2 wks) can cause kidney damage. If you have pain and take narcotics as perscribed or less, the likelyhood of becoming dependent are between zero and nothing.A Dr. once told me that we are only trying to lessen my pain not eliminate-make it bearable.
Avatar m tn Just wondering if there is a relationship between Percocet and symptoms of kidney pain. PS he was kept for 3 days in the hospital and still has pain.
Avatar f tn Any moms have experience with kidney stones while pregnant. Were you induced early or allowed to go as normal??
Avatar n tn I am 6 weeks pregnant and have kidney problems. The ER Doctor gave me Percocet and Promethazine and I can't remember if I can take them together.
Avatar f tn The probability of death from irreversible liver damage increases when a patient also drinks alcohol. Percocet, has hepatic toxicity. The damage is cumulative and may not be revealed by a liver function test. How many percocets are necessary to damage the liver is open to question. but in my opinion four a day is far too many, especially over an extended period of time. You can do your own internet research and decide for yourself. It isn't rocket-ship science.
Avatar m tn I practice urine therapy, and i just started alternating between percocet, tramadol, and ibuprofen for daily pain. in the past 2 days, i have taken 300mg of tramadol, 3 5/325mg percocet, and 2400mg of ibuprofen. All that is in my system and i just resumed drinking my urine again. I didnt even think to see what happens to the medication as it is digested. Is it bad to drink recycled medication?

Avatar n tn Hi Everyone, I posted a message a week or so ago, but I cannot find it, so I will post with updated details. I believe I can get the help I need here, and I hope lots of you reply with your ideas. I am a 36 year old male. I have been on Oxycodone (Immediate Release Oxycodone, which is percocet, without asperin in it). Just straight Oxycodone. I have been on it for about 2 years. Taking 120mg per day, once a day in the AM. About 2 months ago, I started taking Oxycontin.
Avatar f tn From the posts I read it seems that many were taking above the max dose 4000 mg of acetaminfen daily. Irreversable liver/kidney damage has always been a big concern to me which is why I never exceed the 4000 mg a day. I just had blood drawn yesterday & will nervously await the results. If they tell me my enzymes are higher it will be easier to quit. I think. Have any of you had any damage to liver/kidney damage as a result of your vicodin use?
1926947 tn?1322986601 Three months later I had to have another emergency surgery for my right kidney because I had a stone that was obstructing my kidney. I'm only 23 years old and where I'm so young my doctor was worried about the significant damage to my kidneys he seen when doing the emergency surgeries and the fact that he cleaned out my kidney and within a week I would have 3-5 stones developing again,so he decided to send me to Duke University Hospital in NC and I live in KY.
Avatar n tn 77 year old female w/previous undiagnosed arm and hand pain (many years and worsening over time). About 4 days ago, I began having sharp radiating pain in the L. shoulder blade area. A couple days later, it switched to my R. shoulder and worsened to the point that I was unable to move when I woke up this a.m. It took over an hour to get out of bed. (I began by slowly and Very painfully moving fingers, arms, etc.) I am presently sitting up and using heating heating pad.

Avatar f tn Percocet/dilaudid. Long story stort, I was diagnosed with kidney stones septemper 18th and found out I was pregnant a week later. The baby was planned but the stones were not, haha. Anyway, after finding out I was pregnant I attempted to stop using the Percocets, but the kidney stone pain was too severe to be controlled by Tylenol Alone and I resorted back to taking Percocet for pain maganement.
Avatar n tn I meant to say that *in the past* I had kidney stones. I was just comparing the pain level. I did not have kidney stones at the same time as cellulitis.
Avatar f tn Do not take tylenol and he percocet. Percocet is safe I took it with a bunch of my pregnancys. I had kidney stones bad and had to be hospitalized a lot and put on iv pain med but when it was manageable I was on. 1-2 Percocet 5's every 4-6 hrs through out my pregnancys. I only get bad stones while pregnant but my babies were all healthy, well the ones I took the medicine with. If you are in pain take your medicine bonus it help with pregnancy pains...
Avatar n tn Hello Ursamere. As you probably know, we're not physicians here, but are happy to share our experiences with you so you can explore the ideas further with your diabetes team. I'm also a long-time DMer - about 35 years. 5.6 is an excellent a1c and as one who's not (yet) achieved an a1c under 6, I admire the work & discipline it takes to achieve that.
