Avatar f tn I have seen a Urologist but lithotripsy is not an option for me due the disease I have which is MSK (Medullary Sponge Kidney) and I always pass the stones on my own. I've been passing stones since I was 14, was diagnosed at 21 and I'm now 39. I only started experiencing the constant pain about 10 years ago and it's gradually progressed. I also take several other medications that can't stop the stones but greatly reduce the amount my kidneys produce.
Avatar n tn I am 38 weeks pregnant and my Ob prescribed me percocet for kidney stones. I passed the stone today so I wont be needing the pain killers anymore. But i don't want my baby to have this in his system when he's born. Should it be all cleaned out by the time he arrives?

Avatar n tn I was prescribed percocet once for a kidney infection...I was young and I just thought I had a severe flu w/bad back pain. (sorry for the tmi but no burning when i urinated) So anyhow I ignored it for a week b/c like I said I was young and didn't have insurance finally I was so dehydrated and my back was hurting so bad I was taken to the ER. So they did prescribe the pain rx due to the severity of the pain I was in and how far I let it go.
Avatar f tn Ive had kidney stones for years due to my crohns disease and the best advice i can tell u is to avoid caffeine and sugary drinks all together. Drink water with lemon and cranberry all natural no cocktail. To help eliminate pain, hydrate urself very well it will open up ur ureter easing the passing of the stone making it less painful. If u havent already passed it, chug lots of cranberry natural. Hope things go well for you.
489000 tn?1364302227 I thought for sure I had another kidney stone but they finally dx me with a kidney infection that had spread from my bladder. And to top things off, it took the nurses 7 tries to get an IV in me at 5am! I had had really bad chills and had vomited, so I was dehydrated plus I have poor venous access, so it was a tough time getting an IV in me. I don't recall any indications that I had a bladder infection until Tuesday and I went to the doctor's on Wednesday morning.
Avatar f tn I'm currently on day 6 and feel like I'm over the worst of the withdrawl symptoms, I am however experiencing severe kidney pain. I guess I'm just wondering if the pain I'm feeling is real because of my kidney disease of if it's rebound pain. I've looked through some older posts and see that several people that starting taking pain meds for chronic pain and ended up abusing them as I have, have talked a lot about rebound pain.
Avatar n tn MY FRIEND IS TAKING PERCOCET 5 NOW BUT HAS BEEN TAKING A HIGHER DOSE AND NOW THESE FOR THE LAST 2 TO 3 YEAR AND NOW IS HAVING HEART PALPATATIONS AND IREGULAR HEART BEATING...COULD THIS DRUG BE CAUSING THIS?
Avatar m tn Just wondering if there is a relationship between Percocet and symptoms of kidney pain. PS he was kept for 3 days in the hospital and still has pain.
Avatar n tn ve had kidney stones, and surgery to put stints in. And this pain from cellulitis is even more painful than kidney stones. Apparently I'm supposed to lay in bed a lot, and keep my foot elevated. But I can't just lay in bed for several weeks. And it seems odd, but it is more painful to be laying down than to sit in a chair. Also, laying down makes it so sitting back up, and standing, are so painful that I have to spend half an hour gradually going from laying down to standing.
1926947 tn?1322986601 After my first emergency surgery for stones in my left kidney everything went down-hill. I have urethral stenosis, stricture disease and large amounts of scar tissue in my left ureter. The doctor placed a stent that my body rejected and they had to removed it within 4 days. My stones are made up of uric acid however uric acid levels in my blood are normal but in my urine they are sky high.
Avatar f tn I am 22 and have just found out I have kidney disease. I do not want to tell my family, because I know they wouldn't deal with it very well. Is it likely to be easy keeping this from them (I live with them)? I am considering not receiving any treament for now to make extra certain family don't find out.

Avatar f tn Hi there, about a month and a half ago I started feeling like something was always under both my ribs and it has been persistently like this and it's really uncomfortable, I'm also always itchy at night and have been feeling really dizzy and lightheaded constantly. I've went to my doctors and they took my bloods and all that came up was that my potassium levels were slightly high.

Avatar f tn Hi recently I had pain on my adominal, usually the pain is on the right upper abdomen and the pain seem to move to lower left and right. I haven't did my kidney function test yet but I already did liver function test and my ALT is 9 U/L does this low ALT indicate that I have kidney issues?
387767 tn?1345872027 Be sure to discuss all recommended vaccines with your veterinarian. A cat with kidney disease or kidney failure should not be vaccinated at all. Long-term feeding of an all-dry-food diet is also suspected as a factor in Chronic Renal Failure. Cats' kidneys are highly efficient and adapted to life in the desert, where they would get most or all of their water from eating their prey.
Avatar f tn Im very sick and cant get anyone to help. Ive even had a dr tell me he wont diagnose me with kidney disease until I get insurance so I got insurance and they denied coverage before he even diagnosed me. I then had to quit working due to illness. Now Ive got no job and no insurance and no help. What do all these results mean? Whats the next step? Who will help me?
Avatar n tn Hello, The symptoms are definitely suggestive of kidney disease. You should get an ultrasound kidneys and kidney function tests done to confirm the diagnosis. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar m tn Obviously, he has severe anemia and no amount of iron will fix this kind. I have never heard of chemotherapy for kidney disease or kidney damage. I have kidney damage (kidney disease) due to an autoimmune disease. Kidney function is at 26% now, up from 20%. Autoimmune disease is in remission since I had all the mercury fillings removed from my teeth.
Avatar n tn I would encourage both of you to talk with his endocrinologist about looking into possible changes that can bring his a1c levels well down below 7. That truly is his best protection not only against kidney disease, but against other complications. If sugar levels are maintained at near normal levels, damage cannot happen.
Avatar f tn I have a 14 year old cocker spaniel who was recently diagnosed with kidney disease. She originally got sick a few weeks ago with pacreatitis, and when she recovered her lab work showed the kidney problems. We have been giving her fluids every other night as well as the epakitin powder with her food. Her blood report was better this last time. However she seems pretty good, has a good appetite ect and I'm wondering if there is anything else that could be causing this disease?
Avatar m tn Most days it still feels like my kidney is still there and hurts exactly like it did when I had kidney infections or kidney stones. When I had my surgery they cut me from back ribcage to the front below my bladder so there is a lot of nerves that were severed during the surgery. Most of the time if feels like my kidney is huge and taking up too much space inside and under my ribcage, so the pain is not just right in the nerve endings.
