i been taking paxil for depression for 3 years now. it is a real good medicine. before i started paxil, i was depress all the time. i could not work normally because i felt everybody was out to get and that i could not do anything right to save my life. i could not wake a single without feeling sad, and lonely. but every since i talk to doctor about my problem he put me on paxil. and everyday since i been doing great.
I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a good anxiety drug other than Paxil, Effexor or Lexapro. I was on Paxil for years and it worked well for me but my doctor switched me to Lexapro which made me extremely sick as did Effexor. Anyway, now I am about to go back on Paxil because it was the only drug that really worked for me and didn't make me sick but I have one problem.
I, personally, like Effexor. After being on Effexor XR for about 7-8 years, my psychiatrist switched me to Pristiq (which is Effexor Lite) last year because it was cheaper for me to get than the Effexor was. I can tell you this, it is the best medication for me. I'd been on Prozac, Paxil, Celexa, Zoloft, and some old-school MAOI's. But nothing, nothing, worked as well as the Effexor for my anxiety disorder.
I also wake up sweating sometimes and i have had frequent urination.I take 20mg of paxil a day and 20mg of prilosec a day.I have been tested for all STD's, my lungs because i smoke,my liver,my pancreas,my thyroid,and had a endoscopy,but everything is normal.Do you think this could be all in my head or something more serious.Please advise.
t eat or sleep good, my throat got so swollen my tonsils touched and mono and strep test were negative. went back to dr. she said it could be reaction to prozac because it is diff than other meds because when u take one pill and then the next day take another the first one is still there so she thinks it could have been too much for me so she slowly tampered me off of it and then started me on the 10mg of paxil. after 3 days on it i felt great again.
The bad thing is........ my therapist and doc REFUSE to believe that withdrawal last more than a couple of weeks. Then I read stories on other sites and find people stating they had w/d for up to 2 years. I just do not know.
The person who's having brain shocks -- are you missing doses? Paxil can be a very effective med, but also one of the most difficult to stop taking. Brain shocks are a classic ssri withdrawal symptom, and can occur if you miss a dose of Paxil or even delay one. This can happen with any short half life ssri. To the original poster: Paxil can be very helpful.
im 39 weeks & 2 days. I'm 75% effaced and 1cm dilated. Is this good or bad? I expected to have dilated more.
