My significant other has caught pink eye and has had it for approximately two weeks now. In the first few days, he had the typical symptoms: redness in the eyes, a little swelling, some itching. After those few days up until now, he's become highly sensitive to light, his eye lids are very swollen, his eyes are highly irritable he can barely keep them open, and what's worse is that the thin membrane covering his eye balls appears to have 'blistered'.
For two months now, I've been being treated for an eye infection (both eyes). It was initially thought to be allergies, but the Patanol did not help. Opthamologist then prescribed tobradex, which worked until I came off it. We then moved to longer tobradex usage that tapered over two weeks. Came back again once I came off. Then moved to oral antibiotic for one week and zylet - no results. Now oral antibiotic for two weeks - no results.
I bought a bottle of Patanol eye drops about a month and three weeks ago, I found the box a couple days ago and noticed on the box that it says discard thirty days after opening... The expiry date on the bottle says 01-2011.. Is this bad that I used the eye drops three weeks after it was suppose to be discarded? I only used three quaters of the bottle. I paid a little over fifty dollars for this little 5 mL bottle.... But what can you do....
Last two weeks have been really bad and i have seen like mulitiple Doctor`s who have all said i had pink eye or this and that. I am using patanol and vigamox. Problem is i have like a white discharge on my eye and it does not like to come out. I use a hot compress twice a day then i try to rinse my eye and flush my eye as well. Nothing it just remains in my eye.Most of the time i go to bed and it still there.
He prescribed me eye drops which I had to put on my eye every hour (even the hours im suppose to sleep) for 48 hours.
My eye was healed for the next month or so until I couldn't help the temptation of wearing my contacts again (a new pair I had just opened) for an event my work was hosting. Towards the end of the night, even though I was quite drunk, my left eye began to feel different.

The only change I have made in my life style is to take Patanol eye drops for allergy eyes. I have been using them once daily for 4 months. Could it be that this antihistamine can be causing this increase in my blood pressure? I am allergic to the drugs used for controling blood pressure and prior to this successfully lowered my pressure by exercise and diet.It is normal for me to have a reading of 130 over 80. I am 59 years old. I weigh 110 pounds. I am 5 foot 6 inches tall.
He has been on an oral antihistimine (claritin) for many years and uses Patanol and theratears. He was told he could no longer wear contact lenses (that's fine) and hasn't since his diagnoses. There is little change to his GPC even after using a prescription eye drop with steroids and antibiotic. His opthamologist never asked if he used any face cleanser. My eyes constantly have redness in them, mostly the outsides & the left one is more red than the right. How do I get rid of the redness in my eyes (without powerful medication). I'm already using an anti-allergy drop (Zaditor) which doesn't help THAT much. I've used Patanol before too. How can I get rid of the redness?
that triggers it for some reason but i also noticce tha one eye is a little irritated with red right on the corner of the eye.. i took him to out family dr and was given patanol eye drops.. he only has a day taking them but the doctor really didnt gi ve me a clear anwer on weather what the problem really was... well mainly im trying to look for a second opinion.. also the doctor did metion that my son when the second child that when in that day with the blinking problem..
Initially I used Xalatan for 1 year and then my doctor did a small laser procedure to open up the cornea in my eyes to let the fluid out which has kept the eye pressure under 16 or so. Currently I am using Patanol and its only for occasional use. I've been to many eye specialist and allergy specialist to no one knowing how to help but prescribe steroid eye drops!
Welcome to our Forum. I can understand how after being in the strip club you might be concerned that you somehow picked up an STD through contact with a dancer but it is most unlikely. Let me outline some of the reasons that I say this:
1. Chlamydia is simply not effectively transmitted from one person to another on contaminated fingers. If it were we would see genital infections as well as eye infections arising this way and we do not.
