Pataday for pink eye

Common Questions and Answers about Pataday for pink eye

pataday

Avatar f tn I was scared and revisited the doctor. The doctor prescribed me Pataday. On using Pataday for a day, I was afraid if it could resolve the issue. I took a second opinion from a diff. Doctor. The doctor prescribed me Lotopred, Ikul, Systane ultra eye drops for every four hours a week and said not to wear lenses for 10 days. I followed the instructions and my eyes got back to normal.
Avatar m tn Hello my name is erick and i am 18 About a month and a half ago i woke up with my eyes very red and crusty in both eyes. I believed it was pink eye and when i went to the doctor they prescribed Pataday as well as some other drops i would apply 4 times a day. My eyes got better and i did not wear my contacts at all. They said to only put your contacts in after 2 days of my eyes bein completely white . Weeks passed and i did that. Then i noticed my eyes started getting red again.
Avatar f tn I went to my opthamologist. The doctor prescribed Tobramycin and Pataday. Using both eye drops the condition got better with just a bit in the right eye. My opthamologist took me off the antibiotic and told me to do the Pataday (allergy drops). Which I have. Yet, my right eye is tearing excessively and my right eye is tearing a little bit. The inner tear duct is very itchy and sting at times.I already got another opionion and was told that it's allergies.
Avatar n tn Try Zaditor eye drops over the counter in USA.
Avatar n tn I had an upper and lower blepharaplasty on March 16th and in the beginning of June developed a blister in the corner of my left eye. I was given steroids which raised my eye pressure too high and did not work. It sometimes gets really red and hurts all of the time. I went to an opthamologist and and eye surgeon and no one has a cure. The glands in the inner corner of my eyes right below my brows have a little tiny round hard objects too. Do you have any ideas or suggestions?
Avatar n tn Neither is specific for dry eyes. pataday is a once/day allergy eye drop and Xibrom is a non-steroidal antiinflammatory. If your problems are truely dry eyes you would do better with frequent artifical tears, a lubricating gel at bedtime, oral fish oil (2-4 enteric coated/day) and if moderate or severe then a 6 month trial of Restasis.
Avatar m tn I suffer from the exact same thing with the inside corner of my eye driving me crazy at times it itches so bad. What has helped me is Rx eye drops called Pataday. It is for itchy allergy eyes, and sometimes I put a drop or two on the end of a q-tip and dab it in that corner of my eye and sometimes I put the drop directly into the eye. Works wonders. Whether it is allergy or irritation of some sort, the drops take the itch away for me. I hope this works for you.
Avatar f tn I told my eye doctor that I could feel a little bump under my left upper eyelid, she tried to feel for it and looked but didn't see anything. This left eye is the culprit of all the trouble. All the itching and infections start in that eye. Although, this bump doesnn't hurt, I can still feel it there. It has got smaller in the past few weeks. I think it is something up there crfeating all of this. How do I get my eye doctors to take a good look at this.
Avatar f tn While I thank you for your response, I don't feel your recommendation of discontinuing my meds is a route that I want to entertain at this point at least, as I think they are allowing me a level of "dis"comfort that is tolerable at this time....unless, of course, it is very clear that they are definitely the culprits of my recent diagnosis (keratoconus & Cogan's). However, I guess that's the Catch22.... And, if I do (stop meds), will it reverse the damage?
Avatar n tn Systane, Blink, Refresh, Soothe and something for allergies like Patanol or Pataday. If your allergy is bad enough to require a steroid then lotemax, or pred mild would be better choices.
Avatar f tn I had temporary (week long) eye plugs put in my eyes due to dry eyes along with Pataday once a day eye drop for eye allergies. My eyes plugs were put in on Wednesday afternoon. How long does it take for the plugs to work, I mean my eyes aren't burning like before, but they're still somewhat red. I don't know if it's cleared a little, but I don't see a big difference. How long before my eye plugs clear up my dry eyes.

Avatar f tn Have you have been evaluated to see if you have something called 'Dry Eye'? It's very common as we get older, and leaky, teary eyes are, paradoxically, one of the most troublesome signs (you can google 'dry eye' and see if you recognize yourself there). The rezoom lens almost certainly has nothing to do with your symptoms, but it sounds as though it's time for you to have another visit with your eye doctor about the excessive tearing.
Avatar n tn I spoke with one of the doctors here the other day about a dry eye problem. I went to my eye doc and vision was 20/25 in both eyes with glasses of course and that is even with my wet, now dry AMD. GOOD I thought He said my eyes were very dry and it looked like the redness, itchy, fuzzy vision, and dryness was from allergies. He gave me 2 different drops and said we could try these to see if it helped or if the symptoms returned after I stopped using them, there were Pataday and Xibrom.
Avatar f tn I am a contact lens wearer, and I continually getting eye infections, for about the past 2 years. (I've been wearing contacts for about 5 years.) My eyes get very red and become painful, and occasionally swell. I become very light-sensitive and my pupils constrict to the point where I can barely keep my eyes open. I have removed my lenses to see a mucus-like build up on several occasions. My doctor has prescribed me TobraDex in the past, which sometimes helps after a few days.
Avatar n tn I have GPC and do not wear contacts. I’ve been on prednisone eye drops for the past week with no relief. Was on Pataday for a month before that with no relief. What can I do?
Avatar f tn I got antibiotic steroid eye drops and used them for 10 days. I also was prescribed Pataday once a day before bed, and I use over the counter Alaway once or twice during the day, too. The eczema went away, but bags didn't completely go away but they improved. Every few days I use SteriLid in the shower to make sure my eyes and lashes are completely clean, and I never use gel eye drops anymore, only preservative free tear drops for moisturizing if needed.
Avatar f tn I tried a short course of steriod drops which relieved my symptoms, but they returned as soon as I stopped. Restasis for three months has offered no improvement. Pataday and Acular provide no benefit either. I am at a loss as to what to do next. I would greatly appreciate any direction or ideas.
Avatar f tn My left eye is very swollen and it appears to be a blocked tear duck, However I have been to see two Opthamologist, eye doctor, and Allergy doctor, and General Medicine doctor. No one has been able to figure this one out. It is at its worse i the Morning when I wake up. The eye lid is full of fluid, which looks like my tears . It drains slowly throughout the day and fills back up over night. I've taken antibiotics, Steroid drops, ointments . Nothing has worked.
Avatar f tn I am at my wits end. I have been getting eye infection after eye infection for over a year. At first I went to my regular doctor, then my optometrist and now an ophthalmologist. At first they were every 3-4 months, then monthly, and now they are occurring two weeks apart. Ophthalmologist thought it was my contacts but I've been wearing them for decades with no problems. I switched to dailys anyway and got an infection a week later.
Avatar f tn Be sure you have available non-steroidal anti-itch eye drops like Pataday, Pazeo, or OTC Zaditor. Steroid eye drops are bad news for long term use: cataracts and glaucoma very likely. I would head to some place like Mayo Clinic for a tertiary world class evaluation of your problem since local medical community doesn't seem to help.
19931670 tn?1486845153 She argued with me that it was in fact the right prescription and told me to try them for 2 weeks and come back. They were comfortable on my eye except that I couldn't see very well. A week later while I was driving to work my left eye started to swell and within 15 minutes I couldn't even open it. I immediately went back to the eye doctor.
Avatar m tn Hi. I was wondering if i could use Pataday if i have ocular herpes? Are there any risks that i should be aware of when using Pataday?
Avatar f tn Pazeo is an allergy eye drop that is new and is meant to replace Pataday which is the #1 prescription allergy eye drops. restasis is the definitive treatment for moderate or severe dry eyes but it takes 5-6 months to work and often strings when starting out. My wife and I both take restasis and have for several years.
Avatar n tn Try stopping current contact lens if you have them, try an oral antihistamine like Zyrtec, Claritin, or Clarinex, try an allergy drop like Patenol, Pataday, or Elestat, find out if you have allergies by seeing an allergist, then control any allergens that you are exposed to, see an ophthalmologist to be evaluated for possible oculare allergies, and also to be checked out for dry eyes. Good Luck.
