Common Questions and Answers about Pataday itchy eye rx

pataday

Avatar m tn I suffer from the exact same thing with the inside corner of my eye driving me crazy at times it itches so bad. What has helped me is Rx eye drops called Pataday. It is for itchy allergy eyes, and sometimes I put a drop or two on the end of a q-tip and dab it in that corner of my eye and sometimes I put the drop directly into the eye. Works wonders. Whether it is allergy or irritation of some sort, the drops take the itch away for me. I hope this works for you.
Avatar f tn Discuss with your family MD the use of a oral anti-allergy medication on the weekends, maybe starting Thursday evening. If severe and that doesn't work see an allergist. For you eyes you can use cool or warm compresses and Zaditor the best over the counter eye drop.
Avatar n tn Try Zaditor eye drops over the counter in USA.
Avatar m tn He perscribed more Pataday and some eye drops and told me in about a week i could resume with contacts that were dailys . A week after has passed and my eyes are getting red. Please help because i hate wearing my glasses and want to return to my contacts and this is not working .
Avatar f tn I went to my opthamologist. The doctor prescribed Tobramycin and Pataday. Using both eye drops the condition got better with just a bit in the right eye. My opthamologist took me off the antibiotic and told me to do the Pataday (allergy drops). Which I have. Yet, my right eye is tearing excessively and my right eye is tearing a little bit. The inner tear duct is very itchy and sting at times.I already got another opionion and was told that it's allergies.
Avatar n tn It started last fall when school began, about every 4 weeks I would have some type of eye infection and really severe dry eye. I felt like I worried my eye doctor to death. We would do drops it would be better and then reoccur. I was great this summer. No problems at all. Now we have been back at school 3 weeks and my eyes are at it again. I have a white discharge sometimes and they are dry as can be and burn. Should I go back to the eye doc and start the drop process again.
Avatar n tn I spoke with one of the doctors here the other day about a dry eye problem. I went to my eye doc and vision was 20/25 in both eyes with glasses of course and that is even with my wet, now dry AMD. GOOD I thought He said my eyes were very dry and it looked like the redness, itchy, fuzzy vision, and dryness was from allergies. He gave me 2 different drops and said we could try these to see if it helped or if the symptoms returned after I stopped using them, there were Pataday and Xibrom.
Avatar f tn Be sure you have available non-steroidal anti-itch eye drops like Pataday, Pazeo, or OTC Zaditor. Steroid eye drops are bad news for long term use: cataracts and glaucoma very likely. I would head to some place like Mayo Clinic for a tertiary world class evaluation of your problem since local medical community doesn't seem to help.
Avatar n tn I was just wondering if some here could help me please. This has been going off and on for 6years since I was 23yo when i woke up one morning 'after my hens party' with one eye swollen red and a white discharge! i thought it might have been triggered by the makeup trial i had done the night of my hens. but it keeps coming back! I've been to many eye specialist and allergy specialist to no one knowing how to help but prescribe steroid eye drops!
Avatar n tn I had an upper and lower blepharaplasty on March 16th and in the beginning of June developed a blister in the corner of my left eye. I was given steroids which raised my eye pressure too high and did not work. It sometimes gets really red and hurts all of the time. I went to an opthamologist and and eye surgeon and no one has a cure. The glands in the inner corner of my eyes right below my brows have a little tiny round hard objects too. Do you have any ideas or suggestions?
Avatar n tn I had lasik back in 02 & never had a problem--had white eyes & never dry. Just used OTC generic artificial tears here & there. Then in 5/08, I develop. red eyes & had a prominent vessel in my left eye. Eye dr. said it was strain from studying for my MBA and should go away on its own. He took eye tests and put me on restasis. The redness went away but the prominent vessel stayed. It's still there to this day & the eye dr.
Avatar f tn A month back I got a red dot in my left eye. I visited an eye expert (I wear contacts regulary) Post my retina and cornea examination, the eye expert said its coz of an allergy and prescribed me FMLT. After applying FMLT for 3 days, My both eyes turned blood shot and I started experiencing pain, burning sensation on washing eyes and discharge of white sticky substance. I was scared and revisited the doctor. The doctor prescribed me Pataday.
Avatar m tn Suggest you try OTC Zaditor, if that not work see an Eye MD and try prescription RX like Pataday or optivar if that not work then discuss a mild steroid containing drop like Alrex or lotemax.
412873 tn?1329174455 Lala and I got these hicky looking things there during tx..and mine never went away This stuff works pretty good for that. I also used it on the itchy patches from my injection sites. For that red burning eye rash....she gave me Atopiclair for that area. Wish I had known about that around week 1 or so. Big help. And formulated for the eye area so ya won't burn your eyes on top of everything else. And lastly....my lips got really chapped and irritated post tx.
Avatar f tn While I thank you for your response, I don't feel your recommendation of discontinuing my meds is a route that I want to entertain at this point at least, as I think they are allowing me a level of "dis"comfort that is tolerable at this time....unless, of course, it is very clear that they are definitely the culprits of my recent diagnosis (keratoconus & Cogan's). However, I guess that's the Catch22.... And, if I do (stop meds), will it reverse the damage?
Avatar n tn Are steroids such as Maxitrol or Tobradex *supposed* to help with eye burning caused by dry eye or can it make your symptoms worse? I'm dealing with allergic conjunctivitis (again!) and dealing with burning eyes. thanks!
Avatar f tn I had temporary (week long) eye plugs put in my eyes due to dry eyes along with Pataday once a day eye drop for eye allergies. My eyes plugs were put in on Wednesday afternoon. How long does it take for the plugs to work, I mean my eyes aren't burning like before, but they're still somewhat red. I don't know if it's cleared a little, but I don't see a big difference. How long before my eye plugs clear up my dry eyes.

Avatar f tn And she referred me to a opthomologist and neurologist. She assumed it was allergies to begin with and prescibed him pataday eye drops in the mean time. I noticed his blinking stopped completely a couple of days after using the drops. I still however took him to neurologist and opthmologist. Both said he was fine. Thk goodness.
Avatar f tn I am a contact lens wearer, and I continually getting eye infections, for about the past 2 years. (I've been wearing contacts for about 5 years.) My eyes get very red and become painful, and occasionally swell. I become very light-sensitive and my pupils constrict to the point where I can barely keep my eyes open. I have removed my lenses to see a mucus-like build up on several occasions. My doctor has prescribed me TobraDex in the past, which sometimes helps after a few days.
275184 tn?1211224813 they were itchy on my eyes sometimes. The RX was -1.00, BC 8.4, DIA 14.0. The doctor replaced those with the once I currently wear, 1-Day Acuvue moist. The Rx is -1.00, BC 8.5, DIA 14.2. He also left the old Acuvue Oasys RX on file in case I wanted to still wear those due to the cost of the 1-Day Moist Contacts. I decided to save money the other day and bought the Acuvue Oasys again.
Avatar n tn I have GPC and do not wear contacts. I’ve been on prednisone eye drops for the past week with no relief. Was on Pataday for a month before that with no relief. What can I do?
Avatar n tn m unsure about my eye is that I have had allergic conjunctivitis for two summers already, except this time it will not go away with Pataday eye drops. I also had a stuffy nose for 4 months. The rash on my vagina went away in about 7 days, as did the facial bumps. One month later, and still taking allergy eye drops, I go to the beach. I develop the same sort of bumps that I had on my vagina, now on my legs!
