Avatar n tn Hi everyone Do these symptoms sound like fibro? I had slight tingling in both feet for a couple of months along with some vibration. At the same time I had muscle twitches (like pop corn popping) with no pain. Before this I had chest pain and feeling like my heart was skipping beats. I went to the doctor and had an EKG. He said my heart looked fine from those results. He took blood and I have no thyriod issues or diabetes (although my mom has hypothryiod issues and a suspicion of fibro).
Avatar f tn I am 5 days into sobriety and I have had some major withdrawl symptoms including night sweats, vivid dreams and extreme moodiness and I swear that I have not slept for more than a couple of hours each night which has made it very difficult to work my required 10 hour days. I went to get an over the counter sleep aid, but it makes me very groggy the next day........is there any end to this? Does anyone have any suggestions for me that will help me get through the first couple of weeks?

Avatar n tn I would love to know if you have found anything on your symptoms? My husband has the same symptoms but his has gotten worse in the last few weeks. I have researched Ulcerative Colitis and he has all the signs so I thought. After reading your symptoms he has the same ones even the excessive sweating. This is really scaring me because he says he feels like he is dying. So, if we get a diagnosis I will let you know.

82861 tn?1333457511 He can count on having several cases of pancreatitis coming in along with the usual overindulgence GI symptoms. Pancreatitis is expensive to treat because it's usually done in-patient and the condition is fatal more often than not. Much as dogs love human food, it's better to be safe than sorry and keep them on their usual diet. Educate your guests that human food is off the menu for your dogs no matter how much they beg.

Don't stop seeking medical attention because a dr. said it was all in his head. If he is still having pain after all this time, it's my bet he will eventually be diagnosed with acute pancreatitis. Write if you want more info and good luck to your son.
Avatar n tn I have been reading about pancreatitis, and was wondering that if I have in fact caused enough damage that my pancreas is "digesting itself" due to the digestive enzymes being active in the pancreas, will this repair itself if I stop drinking? Or will the damage to liver and pancreas be permanent? Can I reverse this? OR, is it more likely that what I am feeling is liver pain?
Avatar m tn You may have pancreatitis, and probably should have stayed in hospital. Insurance fears are understandable, but please don't check yourself out AMA (Against Medical Advice) if you need to be admitted again. You can always ask your doctor to have a staff member check your coverage. Back to pancreatitis. If your bile duct is clogged (the same stuff that causes gallstones) it slows or entirely stops the flow of bile from the liver and digestive enzymes from the pancreas.
Avatar n tn 3) Studies regarding surgery suggests an improvement in symptoms at a rate about 50 to 60 percent. Overall i am relatively fit and active but need to be moderate with this.

Avatar m tn A doctor usually orders GGT along with other tests to evaluate a person who has signs or symptoms that suggest liver disease. Some of the symptoms of liver injury include jaundice, nausea, vomiting, abdominal swelling, abdominal pain, pruritus (severe itching), and fatigue. is found in the liver only. High levels of ALT in the bloodstream mean that there may be liver inflammation and/or damage. This test cannot predict liver damage or disease progression.
Avatar n tn consatant reoccuring pancreatitis is not acute, its chronic, and that puts you in a whole different ballpark my firend! if you eat certain things...(greasy,fatty,dairy,lots of proteins exct) or if you drink alcohol, and contine to do so,this will ALL cause the pancreatitis to act up. every time you eat the pancreas has to do work to help digest, difference is with this condition,it does not release the needed enzymes, instead it acctivates them inside the pancreas, and its itself !
Avatar n tn It can be difficult to diagnose because its symptoms are similar to other intestinal disorders and to another type of IBD called Crohn’s disease. Crohn’s disease differs because it causes inflammation deeper within the intestinal wall and can occur in other parts of the digestive system including the small intestine, mouth, esophagus, and stomach.
Avatar f tn I am undergoing cortisone treatment together with anti-inflammatories. I am so very relieved that I can now put a name to the leg pain. The symptoms can take months to years to manifest, usually from the age of 30yrs and is more common in woman than men. The neurologist thinks that the so called ‘glandular fever’ I had at the age of 32 was actually a flare-up of myositis, but misdiagnosed (once again).
Avatar n tn My surgeon mentioned the possibility of me having this. What were your symptoms like? Did food have any effect on your symptoms? I do have reflux which is under control and I'm being treated for bile reflux since my gallbladder surgery (one month ago). Of course I still have that "pain." I am really trying to avoid any more tests. Thanks for any insight!
Avatar n tn Serious disease involving the liver affects only about 5% of people with IBD. Low energy and fatigue tend to be the most common symptoms. Symptoms of more advanced liver disease include itching, jaundice, fluid retention, fatigue, and a feeling of fullness in the upper abdomen. Blood tests can usually confirm the presence of liver disease, although an ultrasound, X-ray, or liver biopsy may be necessary to make the definitive diagnosis.
Avatar n tn Surgery was done and all symptoms stopped. I hope it is not anything this serious but your granddaughter's symptoms did seem earily similar.

Avatar n tn a woman can easily tell from vaginal yeast infection, but men, they have to look for other symptoms-constipation,bloating,perhaps more beer drinking(yeast food),tired easily, sleep too much, sleep too little. i am surprised on several postings when someone mentioned he has been on cipro for 4 weeks or any antibiotics for 2 weeks,no one mention the possibility of yeast infection. anyway, just my 2 cents.
Avatar f tn I'll tell you what I know. Women are half as likely to have PSC than men. I don't know what "asks" is. I do know that auto-antibodies are usually present. I found this at Wikipedia: "Diagnosis The diagnosis is by imaging of the bile duct, usually in the setting of endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP, endoscopy of the bile duct and pancreas), which shows "beading" (both strictures and dilation) of the intrahepatic and extrahepatic bile ducts.
Avatar n tn From 20 to 40 percent of women who do not have bile stones, but have biliary pain symptoms, have acute pancreatitis following the cutting of the sphincter; up to 20% can have pancreatitis just from the procedure. There can be long term effects also. The common bile duct may become chronically inflamed due to reflux of small intestinal fluid into the duct. From 14-36 percent may have some long term complications which may result in chronic pain.
Avatar n tn He is a little reluctant to do surgery because I have many risk factors - I have cystic fibrosis (my lung function is around 45% of normal), chronic pancreatitis (caused by the C.F.) and am on coumadin (a blood thinner) because I have a stent in my superior vena cava.I have also had a previous emergency bowel resection in which 1/4 of my bowel was removed and I had a colostomy for 6 months before it was reversed with another major abdominal surgery.
