pancreatitis

Avatar f tn No one disagrees that you can lose on a 500 cal diet with ow without HCG, but you have to look at the whole picture. How do you feel on the diet? Can you stick with the diet? Can you maintain your weight afterwards? 3 months ago, before I heard about HCG I attempted a 500 Calorie diet to reduce the affects of RA(Rhuematoid Arthritis). Actually I wanted to FAST because having been under a 14 day medically supervised fast (water only) 3 years ago, I knew what miraculous results I got.
1916673 tn?1420236870 One word of caution ... if you have a dog that has pancreatitis, don't use these recipes, as they are high fat/meat content. Always check with your vet beforehand. I hope some of you find these ideas useful in the battle to get your dog to eat. If your dog is eating a manufactured renal diet without problems, I would stick with it, and then use home cooking if and when he/she starts refusing their regular food.
Avatar f tn In the last 2 months they have been severe which led me to the emergency room twice in one week. That's when they decided I had pancreatitis. Two days later the levels went down, but still dehydrated, diarria, vomiting which had my doctor suggest auto immune Hep Panel. Until you get your test results eat clear liquids, jello, broth. It will help with the pain and get a pain reliever if you can. My prayers are with you.
Avatar n tn Your symptoms could be SO many things including sludge/stones in the CBD, Post-Cholecystectomy Syndrome, Sphincter of Oddi Dysfunction, Small Bowel Bacterial Overgrowth, pancreatitis, etc. If you are really suffering, you could always ask for sustained action pain medication so you can function, especially while you are moving. They are difficult to wean off of but make a huge difference to quality of life as time goes on.

Avatar f tn This has naturally persisted, along with classical symptoms of increased water intake. To address his pancreatitis, he was placed on a low fat prescription GI diet (Royal Canin), which I have maintained, but I supplement with canned food (fat < 5%, protein 5-10%) and home cooked food (chicken/sweet potato/pumpkin/green beans/mixed vegetables/rice/flaxseed meal).

1358341 tn?1282213443 when did you change from the Renal Canin special diet to Science Diet???? Did the diarrhea start after the change??? I'm sorry I really have to disagree with your Vet......from everything I read, Dry food is an absolute NO NO for CRF cats...I can't understand why Your Vet tells you otherwise??
Avatar m tn The drs didn't say it was impossible, I'm saying it's almost impossible to get them to see why I am still in pain. First it was "it takes time to heal" and now it's "we aren't seeing anything - maybe you are constipated" (??), however they hadn't really tested for anything either. I just had an MRCP on Saturday and I await the results. If 50% get better, then 50% get worse.
Avatar f tn are being blown away with new dx of diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure, cancer (liver, bladder, lung), cirrhosis, macular degeneration, pancreatitis, blood disorders, vasculitis, fibromyalgia, lupus, crohn's disease, neuropathy, etc. None of them had HCV....these things are going to come as we get older. I guess my point is that to try to figure out what health issues came from HCV tx is kind of a crap shoot.
Avatar n tn She thought it could be cancer or pancreatitis but I would have to pay for more tests that might not find the problem. I decided to go back to the old vet and get my cat's file. I remembered some of what he had done and tried to explain it to the new vet but she wasn't really taking what I was saying seriously. I presented her with the file and she read it over and agreed it was the exact same problem.
Avatar m tn Also pancreatitis. - he recovers from the perforation and pancreatitis and is discharged. Six weeks later they seem him, quite possibly to follow up on the HCV, and lo and behold it's gone. Note that LFTs, while still out of range are an oder of magnitude better. But they find another problem, with his thyroid, and start him on propylthiouracil for which documented side-effects are a reduction in white-blood cells.
Avatar n tn Even using them, I cannot get a full restful sleep. I do try to get a total of 8+ hours sleep, however fitful it may be. My diet is exceptional - very little processed foods, NEVER any fast foods, and a very balanced diet of fruits, vegetables, simple and complex carbs, protein and fats Liquids I drink water, herbal teas and the occasional black tea or "chai". No coffee. I exercise very regularly with both weghts and cardio.
Avatar f tn I had given her fluids at home and the next day when I brought her for an ultrasound of her abdomen, they thought from an xray that she had possible pancreatitis and had given her more meds for that, she had a large bruise at the site of the fluids. That day her dvm told me she was severely anemic and she thought Angie was dying... the dvm was very upset- she was crying. I took Angie to a speciality hospital where she was given iv fluids, pain killers and tested.
Avatar n tn If you have sugar you can sometimes get an odor to your urine and if you have sugar/dibetes it can be a big factor as to why you get this in the first place so if your not sure get it checked. If your uric acid levels are high you need to monitor your diet and if this is a cause of inflamation in your body then I see no reason why it couldn't be a contributing factor in all this but it is the first time I've heard of it. Just trying to use common sense.
Avatar n tn If it brings on the symptoms, you've probably found the cause. If not, add something else into your diet to test for that. But also, if you haven't already, do get some medical advice to rule out the nasties. The odds are very much that it's not anything really scary, but you definitely should check to make sure. My doctor told me that approx 25% of people have IBS. Wishing you well.
174267 tn?1220408828 My furbaby is doing ok - I had to take him yesterday for a plasma transfusion which is supposed to help the pancreatitis. He seems to be getting more energy back. I go back to the RE tomorrow so hopefully my lining is thinner and I can start the mock cycle. I really don't want to do the D&C. I told the acupuncturist to give me lots of herbs to make my lining thin! Take care all!!
