Pancreatitis diet bc

Common Questions and Answers about Pancreatitis diet bc

pancreatitis

Avatar f tn I am currently waiting an appt with a new bc Oncologist for alternative adjuvant bc medication, as mine retired last year. My research, and experience of other bc ladies, leads me to believe that if the bc is going to metastasise, it is usually to the bones, lung, or liver and occasionally, the brain. Could it be possible for my bc to have spread to my intestines? (I have intractable PanCrohn's Colitis) My mind is in a whirl.....
Avatar f tn i am on a gluten free diet. the only reason i ask is because of pancreatitis. alot of the symptoms can over lap. it is very common for people with autoimmune diseases to have a intolerance gluten.
Avatar f tn Had CT scan 2 weeks ago which showed significant inflammation in terminal ileum and old pancreatitis with calcification. Gastroscopy last week showed oesphagitis.Biopsies taken. MRI scan Nov 2007 showed two strictures in small intestine. Gastro has advised following until I see him in clinic 23 July: Double my mtx injections to 25 mg weekly. Add budesonide 9 mg daily Start elemental diet of Fortijuice today. Eat low residue diet if I can manage it. Have another MRI scan asap.
Avatar n tn Dear Chad, In the United States, alcohol is a very frequent cause of pancreatitis. The alcohol alters the secretion of pancreatic juice which results in the inflammation recognized as pancreatitis. Unfortunately, there is no amount of alcohol that I can tell you is safe, i.e. will not cause subsequent attacks of pancreatitis. We know that there is individual sensitivity. This means that an amount of alcohol that may not cause me problems may cause you to have severe pancreatitis.
Avatar n tn Pancreatitis would be unlikely given the pancreatic enzymes and the results of the imaging studies. I would evaluate for malabsorption or celiac disease, done via stool and blood tests respectively. Imaging of the biliary tree for stones can be done as well, with an MRCP or ERCP. Furthermore, breath tests can be done to evaluate for bacterial overgrowth or lactose intolerance. If all the tests are negative, it is less likely that a major GI disease is causing your symptoms.
Avatar n tn Of course they suggested I remove my gullbladder. I have opted against it, and am trying a lowfat diet instead. My question is of the nature to whether or not this is a smart choice. My liver levels are still high, but have come down a lot. Originally, they diagnosed me with slight pancreatitis, but reversed that. I am 28, thin, and female.
Avatar n tn The main thing is finding the cause of the diarrhea, maybe a food intolerance or allergy or something bc its that, which is triggering that feeling somehow. Worst feeling ever!! I'm glad someone else out there gets this too and I'm not nuts!
1619792 tn?1298874132 It was pancreatitis but not due to cancer. It went the same way as you describe with your dog. The pancreas was so swollen it put pressure on the common bile duct which caused the gallbladder to swell and the liver to shut down. He had the best medical care money could buy - better than what most humans receive to tell the truth. Finally, we had to face the fact that he could never recover and had to say goodbye. One of the deciding factors was how painful pancreatitis is.
Avatar f tn to measure pressures but the dr who did ercps told me in consult before hand that based on all other symptoms etc he would skip it in my case I think bc more likely to cause pancreatitis and based on my symptoms and records he didn't think necessary. the other dr who told me not to get ercp had said man.
5496415 tn?1373503807 yes ma'am I had my gall bladder removed in my second trimester bc it was making me soooooo sick & I was losing so much weight & in so much pain ue to gall stones.
Avatar f tn I hope everything comes out ok for you. I was also diagnosed in 2003 and have seen you posting on the other BC forum many times. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Avatar n tn My biggest hurdle seems to be at the present time trying to find a way that I can control Crohn's wether that be through diet or medication. Knowing exactly what I can and can not eat is a struggle my diet seems to be very restricted and I tend to be eating the same things and I am struggling to introduce different ways of cooking. I did try to see if I could find anything on crohn's web site put failed.
Avatar f tn So 2 years ago my gallbladder was removed bc of stones. One blocked my CBD and caused mild pancreatitis (emergency surgery was done) After surgery my body did not adjust well but a few months later with probiotics and such I felt better. Within the past 9 months I've developed weird sensations in my body.
Avatar f tn Brigitte, I assume you're eating a low fat diet? Have they done an MRCP or ERCP with dye to look at the structure of the bile duct? If so, did they find a very 'pouchy' or twisted common bile duct? Is there any 'stump' left of the cystic duct onto the common bile duct?
Avatar f tn I am sorry that I know little about pancreatitis as I have Crohn's. However, I did meet through the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America website, a young woman in San Francisco 4 years ago and we corresponded privately, at least weekly. She had been recently diagnosed then with Crohn's but unfortunately went on to get a malignant pancreatic tumour and sadly died this past Feb at 39 yrs old.
578470 tn?1272601724 In the meantime, although I know it's of little consolation, please make sure you're following a very low fat diet. If you're having clay colored stools it's a clear indication that you're having spasms of the SO, and something needs to be done. Find a darned decent doc and get some better information than what you're now getting.
Avatar n tn I have biliary dyskinesia with an ejection fraction of 23%. I am on a very low fat diet and I eat very little dairy or wheat.I have become very skinny since this began-- about 2 years ago. My symptoms include stomach pain that moves all over my stomach area after almost every meal, but especially dinner, nausea, bloating, gas, intestinal pain, sore throat, sometimes a feeling of heaviness/pain at my sternum, but I do not have upper right quadrant pain.
Avatar m tn The other thing is could there be something in your diet causing a food allergy that would give you nausea? You could try keeping a journal and seeing if certain foods cause the nausea. Is it at certain times of the day? After you drink or eat milk products etc. I used to get throwing up all night and only at night and stomach pain and it was due to migraine but I didn't get headaches. It took them 8 years to diagnose me. I'm trying to thing this out.
Avatar m tn Finally, after suffering with this pain, I went to the er the next day and was admitted for acute pancreatitis. Needless to say, I don't advocate the use of Victoza. The only plus of using the medication was the weight loss, although, I'm not sure it was worth all the pain.
Avatar f tn I didn't believe them since my pain was on the left; I kept the same diet and it seems that the stones were getting bigger and bigger everyday, since after 6 months I started having pain on the right side, and the pain was growing fast every day.
Avatar n tn 3 years ago I lost a dramatic amount of weight, 75-80 lbs in 7 mths on the Atkins Diet. With that diet not focusing much on fat, we had thought that I destroyed my gall bladder in turn. Plumenting from being over 185 lbs to around 110 was a big thing and though I was happy to shed the pounds, I don't know what this has cost me in the long run. Since this problem began again a few months ago, I have lost a few more lbs because it is hard for me to eat at times as I get that pain very bad.
1440512 tn?1294475233 Also, you could have pancreatitis, it can also cause wasting syndrome and some of your other symptoms. So, with those two things needing investigating, they can do an endocscope down your throat and see what's up with those two items and/or a new CT scan with contrast specifically looking at those two areas. I do know that they need to periodically have you in to get some nutrients via I.V. in your vein, maybe once a week would be convenient.
Avatar n tn I am still in pain!!!! Could I have another cyst already after surgery? I am on the highest level of BC I can take and I take them constant (no period). Not sure what else to do. Any help, advice or encouragement would be extremely appreciated!!!!
Avatar f tn This same thing started with me 12 years ago. It slowly evolved, happening after eating other foods. I have been through so many tests & seen so many Drs. Last month I saw a new Dr who is 100% sure that it's my gallbladder. Something in eggs & now, other foods, are causing sludge to build up in my gallbladder & when it gets pushed through my Bilary ducts & pancreas, it causes the back ache. It's actually pancreatitis from gallbladder sludge or stones.
686769 tn?1236275731 I was told by my doctor that side effects are rare bc I was concerned bc many people have had dangerous reactions from it. I took it and it helped almost immediately and was able to walk without a cane. The fatigue from arthritis was gone. Fast forward six months and I became ill....very ill. I contracted klebsiella bacterium and resulted in severe pneumonia. Also at the same time I gained 50lbs but still ate a healthy diet. I developed an enlarged liver.
Avatar n tn they were looking for cancer, bc I had all the symtoms. He said nothings wrong?! Im realy upset bc I feel terible I try to mask it and get on with dayly things. School, my work keeping a life. ya know but it hurts so much, I wana lay down. When ever im up moving around the pain is worse. Mon. then Wed. then sat. i went to the Dr.s 3 times & I have lost over 12lb.
Avatar f tn - hepatitis - pancreatitis, or maybe only a pancreatic cyst - aneurysm of abdominal aorta - disease of the colon (Ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease), obstruction in the colon You've said you've had endoscopy - this was gastroscopy? Liver, pancreas, and aorta may be checked with ultrasound; for the disease of the colon, colonoscopy would be needed. It would help, if you can write down a history of your pain, eventual other symptoms, and their exact time course.
Avatar n tn I'm 16 and have a stupidly poor diet, due to the fact i don't like most foods, i live off bread, cheese and chrisps. I've never been bulemic but recently i've been throwing up every day quite a few time, all i eat comes out and then bile comes up, its not fun. I'm not pregnant and when i was younger i never really threw up, im a smoker but now if im not careful i throw up from taking a drag.
Avatar n tn Not much you can do for CHF but try to manage it with meds and diet. Good that she is on the diuretic. Did the Vet prescribe any heart med like Enalapril maybe? There are many heart meds depending on the problem. She needs to be on a low sodium diet. I believe there are low sodium dog foods out there for dogs with heart problems. Giving Omega 3 may help some. Is your Vet checking the potassium levels in the blood and the kidney function?
Avatar f tn Hello, I have had these rotten egg burps when I was 15 through 19 and no one could figure it out they said it was just a tummy ache and it would go away, well in April of 1995 that it was caused from my gallbladder and they took my gallbladder which did have stones in it and the burp's went away for years and years well I also suffer from Chronic Pancreatitis, Renal failure, Cyrosis of the Liver, and IBS.
