severe pain and vomiting. The IUD insertion was practically painless though. It has been about 4 days since the insertion and I am still feeling very faint and uncomfortably nauseous. Is this a common side effect to a small dose of misoprostol? I have had unprotected sex with my long term boyfriend since the insertion, with no pain, but am worried about:
1) infection
2) pregnancy
3) the length of time for misoprostol side effects to last.
Is this normal?!

I know the copper one is supposed to make it worse too so I am sure the no kids, bad periods and the copper IUD might be a painful combination. I had to have my IUD removed about six months after getting it because it punctured my uterus, that was PAINFUL!! And it was because it didn't fit right because my uterus was small from not having kids.
It has its benefits for sure (no daily pill, highest effective rate and having a period a couple times a year.) The insertion was very painful because I have never had any children. I took 4 Ibuprofen and a vicodin when I got home. I had severe cramping for a couple of days. The first couple of months I had frequent spotting. After month 5 the spotting stopped.
Around month 7 I started having horrible pains in my left side. I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with an ovarian cyst.
Not to be graphic, but after intercourse it burned, this has happened a couple of times before, especially when I pee. Right now I can feel something inside me, sounds weird, but it feels raw. I tried feeling around for the strings, but I have short fingers and had to have my boyfriend find it for me. He said he could feel the strings and the tip of something metal. I'm very worried about infertility and is wondering if this could possibly lead to it?
I know this makes insertion and removal more painful). What should I expect after having the device removed? Any advice on e. coli infections, or other vaginal infections with IUD´s? I would greatly appreciate any related advice! I just want this infection to go away! I have been suffering with this for about three months... Please help!
a week after my insertion my periods went away all together aside from initial bleeding after insertion for 2 days. all of a sudden horrible cramping and spotting started occurring yesterday like the pain I used to endure before the mirena. is this normal? I have been with my fiancée for 7 years now and this occurred after intercourse 3 days ago and it started yesterday with back pain, horrible cramps, and heavy spotting....
This is just an unfortunate side effect from having the IUD. I had the Mirena IUD and bled heavy for 3 months after insertion, then spotted nearly the rest of the time and had a handful of other extreme issues. I had my IUD removed about 6 months after having it inserted due to the side effects. It's well known that with any long-term birth control that you have a higher chance of spotting versus being on the pill.
The pain for the insertion was horrible, I never want to feel that pain again. After the insertion of the iud I spotted for about two days, nothing heavy. But then the third day I started spotting brown discharge. And then two days later I started bleeding heavy. Keep in mind I had my period two weeks prior to getting the iud so I know it wasn't my period. The bleeding was heavy and came with these really bad cramps and really bad pain on my left ovary.
1, IUD insertion requires dilation of the cervix, and if the HSV 2 virus transmit from the insertion procedure to the uterus / womb?
2, If the HSV 2 virus transmits to the uterus through IUD insertion or IUD use, later when you remove the IUD and pregnant, does that mean the HSV2 virus that was previously transmitted to your uterus will infect the fetus? Causing Congenital Herpes to the newborn later?
ve definitely felt some new pains during sex since the insertion of the paragard which concerns me. Am I damaging my uterus? I thought that my sex life would improve a few months after my body got used to the foreign object and the bleeding stopped from the initial insertion, but it has only gotten worse. My boyfriend of 2.5 years agrees. I think it's time to go back to condoms....
So with my son my husband and I started having sex 2 weeks after he was born and you know I couldn't keep my hands off the kid lol. Anyways that led to me not being able to get birth control. So I was hoping to get some advice on some. I know that I want an IUD and I also know that mirena is hormone based or w.e. and I am a crazy b I t c h with extra hormones. I was hoping to get paragaurd...idk anyone have any advice, suggestions, stories etc?
The only emergency contraception I know that is effective 5 days
