Avatar n tn I was given a few shots of lidocane in my cervix, and then I had the LEEP procedure. It was so quick and painless (after the lidocane that is) that I thought they were still getting ready when in fact they were already finished! I had my husband drive me home, but I actually went to a job interview the same day. I rested over the weekend, and started my general walking exercise again on Monday. Yes, I was sore, but not in any real pain.
Avatar f tn Anyone had problem with dilating due to scar tissue after leep procedure? Did u try natural labor or were you scheduled for csection?
Avatar f tn t be able to have sex for at least 4 weeks so we decided to ttc as much as we could this week up until the day of my procedure. In fact, DH and I had sex morning of the day of my procedure (Jan 13). Well today (the day after my procedure) and I have a positive OPK. So I should ovulate within the next two days. I'm assuming I will still ovulate and given that sperm can live for so many days in the vagina I know there's a chance (although a small one) that we could still conceive.
Avatar n tn Just wondering if anyone has had a Leep procedure done for abnormal cervical cells. Not sure what to expect. I've heard it can be quite painful and am wondering if I should opt to have the procedure under general anesthetic. Any comments welcome!
Avatar n tn How painful is the shot you have to get in yoru cervix? like on a 1-10 scale? know the procedure isnt painful after the shot, but im worried about how painful the shot is.
Avatar n tn When i had my colposcopy done they found high grade pre cancerous lesions which were later removed through the leep procedure. It has now been 4 months since the procedure and my doctor has said my cervix has healed but intercourse for me is very painful. Also for maybe three months now i have been having a yellowish vaginal discharge along with some slight itchiness. I was treated for bacterial vaginosis but the infection didn't clear up.
Avatar n tn My LEEP was not a painful bad xperience....the cramping that came a week after and the discharge was i was told normal......lasted a month....and i hated wearing pads for a month....but my doctor was good...very good!i just shake my head when i see doctors and others saying having high risk HPV is no big deal....i know its all to common...but the whole procedure i don't think many men could handle..
Avatar f tn I had a LEEP done 2 years ago. I just found out Im pregnant after 3 long years of trying. Does having the LEEP done put me at a higher risk for miscarriage? Is there Anyone that has had a healty pregnancy after LEEP? Im so worried that something will go wrong. Im almost 5weeks and Ive been having some cramping but no bleeding.
Avatar f tn I'm curious if anyone got pregnant soon after having a LEEP procedure and how things are going? I had the procedure done 8/12/11 with no complications. I had my period 8/28 and just found out last week that I'm 5 weeks pregnant. I noticed after the LEEP I had cramps with my period as well as when I was ovulating, which I never experienced before.
Avatar n tn In the past few months, I've occasionally gotten bad cramps after I have sex. They feel like menstrual cramps but MUCH more intense, generally lasting 20-30 mins. (I take a 600 mg ibuprofen tablet as soon as I notice the cramps starting, so they could possibly last longer without it.) I have been with the same guy for a year and a half, and I'm 26 years old. I realize I need to talk to my MD, but I want to make sure I ask the right questions due to my past health issues. 1.
Avatar n tn That same day, I was told that my biopsy came back as moderate cervical dysplasia, and that I would have to get the LEEP surgery/procedure to correct this.... however, I recently had sex with my boyfriend, which I assumed was okay since my bartholin's gland scar has healed pretty well, and everything has been running smoothly.
Avatar f tn HI, Scarring of the cervix after LEEP procedure is common. However once the healing takes place, everything should be ok. Cervical dilatation should help keep open the cervix to drain the secretions and menstrual blood. The chance of such women needing a hysterectomy is very less. Hope this helps. Take care and good luck.
8827391 tn?1400247234 I had a LEEP about ten years ago. It is a procedure where they will cut out a piece of your cervix, usually following an abnormal pap smear. My doctor warned me that it increases the chances of your cervix shortening, so they did ultrasounds every month to monitor mine. At my 20 week ultrasound I was given the all clear. Basically if it hasn't started shortening by then, it won't. If the cervix shortens and they weren't able to stop it with stitches, you COULD go into preterm labor.
Avatar f tn I had a LEEP procedure done in 2008. I got pregnant 3weeks after the procedure. My pregnancy was very difficult. I dilated early and was put on bed rest. All that weight was too much for my cervix to hold. I was able to keep my son inside till they took him at 35weeks. Im now pregnant with my second. Im 32weeks. This pregnancy cervix wise has been so so much better. I think its because its been so long after the procedure.
647397 tn?1307056615 While the loop electrosurgical excision procedure, or LEEP procedure, may make you wonder if your doctor wants you to jump. The LEEP procedure has nothing to do with jumping. The LEEP procedure is one of several procedures your doctor has available to help diagnose and treat abnormal cervical cells. Other procedures your doctor may want you to have either before or during the LEEP procedure include, a colposcopy and / or a cone biopsy.
Avatar f tn I will be having a LEEP Procedure on Aug 25th & I have a few questions about my circumstances... My Colposcpy results read: "The slide shows portions of the cervical transformation zone mucosa with high grade squamous intraepithial lesion. There is proliferation of atypical parabasel cells which focally involve the full thickness of the epithelium. These cells show nuclear enlargement, nuclear hyperchromasia, increased nuclear to cytoplasmic ratios and loss of nuclear polarity.

1630087 tn?1326809638 Yes, you can pregnant after a LEEP. Have you had a history of abnormal Paps? Did you have an HPV test? Did you have a colposcopy and what was the result? Are you under or over 30? It is important to understand what your tests mean.
Avatar n tn Most likely the dr. will perform LEEP and after that you will be fine. One thing you might want to start doing is taking a good vitamin, and in particular Folic Acid abt 800 mcg. Find a good antioxidant vitamin. Eat lots of leafy green vegetables and cut back on dairy and sugar. If you smoke, STOP. (My friend with the constant HSIL is a constant smoker and refuses to stop.
664732 tn?1296823050 Did anybody ever had a LEEP procedure done? I would love to know how they do it, how it feels, if I still can have children, and just about everything.
Avatar n tn I just had the leep procedure done today to remove stage 2 pre cancer cells. My doctor said about hpv going away once my body builds up an immunity towards it. He said even though i only have sex with one person (my husband) that the same hpv virus can be transferred back and fourth to each other and my body wont build an immunity towards it and i can get pre cancer cells again so he recommends me not to have sex for 8 months to guarantee that the hpv built up an immunity.
Avatar n tn I had cervial dysplasia (severe) and had a leep oct 09. After 3 months I had a pap that said atypical squamous cells, then at 6 month, its back to moderate to severe dysplasia again. How is that possible? I thought these cells progress slow? Now, I have a consultation with a specialist in 2 weeks (an oncologist gynocologist) Im very nervous. What do you think they will want to do. Im 43 and have a high risk hpv. 2 weeks seems like to yrs to wait. Can things get worse with that time?
642053 tn?1223295624 I am having a LEEP procedure done next week and the doctor is confident this will take care of the dysplasia. I am married. Could I be re-infected with HPV if my husband has it? I am assuming the chances are pretty great that he does, since we have been having unprotected sex for years. Does anyone have any answers? I don't want to ever go through this again.
Avatar f tn Curious about those who have been pregnant after a LEEP procedure. I had it done in 2004 after I had my son. I'm 32 weeks pregnant now and just learned today that it can cause a higher risk of delivering a baby early. Just wondering if anyone delivered early after that procedure or was normal? I had my check up today and hadn't gained any weight in the last three weeks, and he said I am measuring at 30 weeks so it just all got me wondering. Trying not to stress!
940641 tn?1245242004 In my case, the problem was minor - I had a large number of capillaries exposed in my vagina, near my cervix, and sex was causing them to bleed. The treatment was a procedure called LEEP, which luckily healed the problem. But at the same time, the doctor had to rule out cancer, polyps, fibroids, etc. and did a hysteroscopy and biopsy. So... could be "nothing" but worth checking out.
