611606 tn?1315517767 Also sending Happy Birthday wishes to you both. I'm with DJ, may the whole year be filled with love, laughter, improving health and all questions answered. Happy Birthday to you both. It's a good thing they don't have "audio" on MedHelp, cause if I sang Happy Birthday to you two, dogs would be howling across the world.

Avatar m tn Also he has a pacemaker, presumably this was to assist heart function? What was his ef when he got the pacemaker put in? Is he able to do any exercise? Presumably he has exercise tolerance issues? Exercise is usually the doctors opening line of discussion. He may need a review of his current medication , and some meds do help boost EF. Dont know if this helps......
Avatar n tn the 3 wire pacemaker could need to be programed again after a year of instalation?
Avatar m tn I recently met with a cardiologist who review the ECG and 24 hour heart monitor results which show the need for a pacemaker, even though I have not external symptoms. The problem was caught during an ECG done for life insurance purposes. At the moment some cardiologists might say that I don't need the pacemaker yet, but to avoid the chance of the thing getting worse and resulting in a stroke or worse I will be getting a pacemaker.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with PVCs in 2009, in 2010 had a heart cath to find an 80% blockage in one artery requiring two stents and have been on beta blockers since that time. Earlier in 2014 I had an ablation procedure as a result of my 24 hour Holter recording 36,000 heart beats. My 6 month check-up post surgery 24 hour Holter recording is 39,000 heart beats. The ablation was not successful. The cardiologist is indicating I may need a pacemaker.
Avatar n tn My 83 year old mother wore a 24 hr. holter monitor, which found her heart was experiencing 7 sec. pauses. She was contacted by both her family and heart doctor one evening and had a pacemaker put in the next morning. She is really doing quite well, but has trouble sleeping and doesn't know if she can sleep on the side the pacemaker is on. (Which is the side she has always slept on.) The book says NOT to sleep on your stomach. How about the side of the pacemaker??? Thanks for your help.
Avatar m tn Further to my recent letter regarding Mr xxxx. He has now had a 24-hour ECG that was done on 17 August 2009. It showed extreme bradycardia with a mean heart rate of 38 beats per minute, maximum heart rate 85 beats per minute around 6:35 a.m., minimum heart rate 28 beats per minute around 8:50 p.m. The trace shows extreme bradycardia with probably no atrial activity seen, probable atrial standstill with junctional rhythm or complete heart block.
Avatar m tn I had Holter 24hr. monitoring in 2007 and 2009. In each, durnig sleep ( 7 - 8 hrs ) a bpm of 29 was recorded and a number of intervals of 2.8 sec. in 2007 and 3.sec + in 2009. The average bpm was 42 bpm for the 24 hr period. There was no evidence of SVT or VT. I am essentially asymptomatic. I am not experiencing any syncope or dizziness, but when climbing a full flight of stairs I can feel the effort, but am not breathless. I am a 78 yr.

Avatar m tn Recenly by cardiologist reset my maximum heart rat e to 70 from 80 in preperartion of repalcing my 6 plus years of use on Oct. 6. Since he did that I have been experiecing shortness of breath I haven't had since the original pacemaker was put in 2005. Is this a possible side affect of lowering my rate? My doctor is on a bike trip in Europe or I would ask him. Thank you.
Avatar f tn Each flare up got worse, and then August 2009 it was worse than over. Between August 2009 and February 2010, he was hospitalized a total of 9 times. He can't work and it has totally paralyzed his life. He had surgery on March 1, 2010 to have a gastric pacemaker implanted. For the last 8 years, they controlled the symptoms with Reglan, Carafate, Phenergan, and Zofran. They started not to work and that is when his Dr suggested a gastric pacemaker. So far, it's working.
Avatar n tn Also, since the conduction system of the heart runs close to the aortic valve, when the valve gets calcified as is the case with Ank Sp, one can develop heart block and require a pacemaker.

Avatar n tn The nurses are in here since mid week listening to my heart like every fifteen minutes. I also have a low grade fever for the past couple days. They want to give me a pacemaker. Why are the nurses listening to my heart so much and I feel like they should hurry up and put the pacemaker in sooner. My ejection fraction I heard the cadiologist tell my husband is 8. How do you suggest they treat my condition and what is happening to me. I feel like I am going to be on a transplant list soon.
Avatar f tn Just wondering, has anyone out there had a pacemaker implanted as a result of an arrhythmia? If so, how is it for you, are you aware of it all the time or do you forget about it? Thanks.
Avatar f tn I had a pacemaker put in in mid-June (2009). It's on the left side. My left arm is swollen, tight and sore and really has been for the last 7 or 8 weeks. A dopler test revealed no blood clots. My electrophysiologist said sometimes (but not usually) it takes the other smaller veins a while to get the blood rerouted. He said since the test showed no blood clots, he's not particularly worried.
535822 tn?1443976780 The long-term health damage caused by the great H1N1 swine flu scam "pandemic" of 2009 -- and particularly the mass vaccination campaign that accompanied it -- is already becoming apparent in the form of an autoimmune disorder.
572651 tn?1530999357 DJ is in a serious medical crisis and currently in ICU. She has been there since Tuesday and I have been waiting to know more before telling you this news. You probably remember that she recently had her morphine pump exchanged for a different unit. Unknown to the surgeon, she has an extensive abdominal and bladder infection.
