1335869 tn?1275658008 Now he is having problems with constantly feeling that he needs to pass urine. I feel that he is misinterpreting the presence of the catheter in his bladder as urine. Is there anything I can do to help him? He doesn't remember anything I say and is so uncomfortable!
Avatar f tn Thank you! Is it possible to have an infection without it showing up on a urine dip test? I went today and again it was negative. I asked the doc there and they said after 4 weeks of this pain I should show something on the test. They send it out for culture anyway.
Avatar f tn When I woke from anesthetic I was told my ureter was too small tohave the procedure and a stent was placed in my ureter in hopes of making it large enough to have the ureteroscopy in 10 to 14 days. Is this considered standard protocol? Is it considered a birth defect to have an unusually small ureter? Are there anythings that can be done to help alleviate the awful pain I'm in from the stent. My dr never mentioned I would have pain.
Avatar f tn I have already tried Detrol and Ditropan. Each one for two weeks. They didn't help my problem at all. I am now on Sanctura . . been on it for less than two weeks. I stopped all caffeine drinks about a week ago. I don't know if the Sanctura is helping my problem, or the lack of caffeine in my diet. But, I've been somewhat better. I still have some urgency at times, and I'm ok until I lift heavy packages or bear down to have a bowel movement.
1188179 tn?1350116119 I have been on Ditropan, then Ditropan XR (or EX, don't remember which is correct) and after about 10 years that didn't work, so my doctor put me on Enablex and that works pretty well. Then I got a new Dr. and he wanted to switch me to Vesicare. That didn't work well, either, and I began having episodes of incontinence and urgency again. It's almost open enrollment for Medicare Part D, and the plan that is the most affordable otherwise doesn't cover Enablex at all anymore.
Avatar n tn I would love to have the urologist or at this point anyone tell me if this is something that will go away when the stent is removed? It's from the medication and once its stopped will go away, or is this now my life and I'm just that unlucky taking a surgery I really wasn't sure about. I don't in any way blame the surgeon as he is a very good man and I have no reason to question him.
Avatar m tn And the doctor suggests it no harm in using for longer period. Problem with this kid is that he is asymptomatic. He is active enough and good in all other aspects. Every six months we have the tests and assuring that the kidney growth and capacity is as per his age. At what age he will be cooperative for doing this test? Please advice whether the usage of medicine for longer period causes any side-effects in future. Also suggests any further care to be taken for the kid.
Avatar m tn My urologist prescribed Ditropan, which I took for about a year, which helped at first. Flomax was added the following year, which again worked for awhile, but the symptoms returned after 6 months or so. The Flomax caused retrograde ejaculation, which bothered me because in the past, I had always shot a fairly substantial load when I ***.
Avatar m tn Thanks for your response. I think Ditropan is a medicine for symptomatic treatment and it also has side effects. The reason of my hyperhidrosis is not explained yet. Which tests are necessary to explain the reason of it?
Avatar f tn I have started Ditropan XL 5mg HS without any change in the droplets. Any ideas as to what I should or could try next? My urologist thinks my sxs are overactive bladder. How can this be resolved?
Avatar n tn Hi, You can ask your doctor to prescribe some antispasmodics, such as Ditropan, for relieving the bladder spasms. If the spasms are under control even the frequency will decrease to a considerable extent. Additionally, you can also request prescription for some low-dose sedatives, maybe from the benzodiazepine group, to get you through the first week or so. Do not continue the sedatives longer than 10-12 days as they have the potential to cause dependence.
Avatar f tn Forgive me for asking, if you have already told us in another post, but have you been diagnosed with MS? I am glad to hear that you will be seeing a urologist. Do not let any doctor dismiss your bladder problems. If the Detrol and Ditropan have not worked, then you may have problems with an actual "sagging" bladder, which I believe can only be helped with a "sling" surgery. Your urologist will be able to tell you more.
Avatar f tn Can I take 2 or 3 Ibuprofen and 1 phenazoptridine 100mg and 1 oxybutynin 5mg The Dr, gave me Cipro to take 2 hrs, before I go to Drs, will this help me or not? If not what can I do to prevent the bad pain I hear about after stent removal. please help me.
Avatar n tn I am sorry to hear about your experience. Please locate a fellowship traine durogynecologist, who can tactfully assist you in identifying andf fixing your problem. Urogynecologists who trained originally as OB/Gyn mds tend to be nicer than your experience would suggest. A clue is to ask the nurse if the doctor is "nice" to his patients. If you are having difficulty locating someone, email me with your location, and I can see if I can recommend someone to you.
Avatar f tn I Cher, I too was diagnose with IC in 2008. It is a tricky disease that one. Have you had any surgeries that would account for the pain? Did you try Hydroxyzine by any chance. I'm sorry you have to deal with this and there is no easy answer. Do you have ulcers in your bladder, have you tried instillations? I personnaly have not used elmiron or instillations because my URO doesn't believe in them, so curious if you have tried them.
Avatar f tn I would also call an emergency vet to let them know what happened. Depending on what could happen because of the ingestion of the pill, it could be that your dog needs supportive care, and the sooner this care is begun, the more successful it will be.
Avatar f tn Testing TSH is the general practice in diagnosing for hypothyroidism. If TSH is above about 10 it is called overt hypothyroidism and treated. If the TSH is above the range limit, but less than 10 it is called subclinical hypothyroidism and the patient is typically told there is no thyroid problem and symptoms must be due to something else. This practice is erroneous.
Avatar f tn I'm curious if you are on any prescription meds? I have had patm for over two years. I take Wellbutrin (bupropion) for depression. I'm experimenting with a few weeks without the medication and I think it may be reducing reactions. Any one else on prescription meds, specifically depression medication?
461014 tn?1233100391 My 6yr old still has issues with wetting the bed at night and having accidents during the day. We have had her tested quite a few times in the past few years for bladder infections and we have even tried Oxybutynin. The doctor can never seem to find any "problems" that are causing her to have these accidents. He just says she should out grow it. But it's only seeming to get worse. She wets the bed almost everynight and she's been having more than one accident a day at school.
Avatar n tn I just wanted to ask you whether the treatment given by DR. ALMEIDA is genuine or not. I tried it for 3 days and it seems to work a little. The ingredients were: 1 - Wheat flour 100 gm 2 - Gum(of tree) (gondh) 100 gm 3 - Barley 100 gm 4 - Black Seeds (kalunji) 100 gm Method of Preparation Put all the above ingredients in 5 cups of water. Boil it for 10 minutes and put off the fire. Allow it to cool down by itself.
