The other things are neurological AD/HD is diagnosed Bipolar in question - too young for diagnosis. He is currently taking Intunive 1 mg and the Trileptol was D/Ced. Any help is greatly appreciated.

My daughter has a bipolar disorder II with hypoomanic features,and I was also told she was mental ill,antisocial personality disorder,borderline personality disorder,signs and symptoms of schizophrenis,oppositional defiant disorder. She have been in and out of hospital and on a lot of different meds. Seroquel, risperadae, Lithem ,Zyprexz,hydroxyz pam, oxcarbazepine and now on 15 mg. of abilify. She never tell the true, and will steal food. she is not doing nothing in school.

You can't always blame the drugs. Oxcarbazepine has different effects and side effects in different people. I also use it and has no issues YET, except the grogginess and drowsiness in the first week. Hope we all do good.

Things like topiramate (brand Topamax) and oxcarbazepine (brand Trileptal) are off-label, but the anticonvulsants in general are known for mood stabilization properties (oxcarbazepine is very similar to carbemazepine, but with fewer side effects, and a lack of license might be a monetary thing, not a clinical one).

It is an important question to because bipolar is a serious mood disorder and sometimes if a person is not caught at the right time it can be easy to convince them that they have this disorder if the Dr asks the wrong questions. I just started taking oxcarbazepine 9 days ago and I built up to 300 mg,no high not even close.Not like with other drugs like oxycontin, were with in 30 min you get a buzz.I guess you have to take higher doses if thats were you want to go,but I dont know.

Bipolar I requires a full manic or mixed episode. Bipolar II requires at least one full depressive episode and at least one hypomanic episode, with no full manic or mixed episodes.

My new doctor thinks I've been misdiagnosed for depression/anxiety. He says this based on everything I described to him and because general SSRI's just cause me more problems than good (high anxiety and side effects). He says I'm not BiPolar, but that I have a mood disorder, on the BiPolar Spectrum... maybe unipolar. He says he does not know exactly what kind of mood disorder yet, just that I have one. Yes I've experienced this but because I have schizoaffective disorder it was usually when I was having auditory hallucinations (hearing voices). However as I have the bipolar aspect of schizoaffective disorder this can also occur when I am manic as I can't focus or concentrate. This happens to other people I know who have bipolar as well.

Don't let a general doctor give you an antidepressant without a mood stabilizer as it can make bipolar people manic or cause rapid cycling. From what I understand Bipolar Disorder's mood swings and phases can cause things like this such as when you're manic and angry you might be impulsive and act on your anger in ways without even thinking about it. As for predicting things, I don't know maybe you're just getting lucky or the spirit of Nostradamus is possessing you or something.

He was lovely, he spoke to me and diagnosed me with Bipolar disorder and referred me to the recovery team, he gave me blood forms and ecg forms before any mood stabilisers were given.
