Avatar m tn Hello all. I am new to this site. I have been reading the post and have found a lot of helpful information. For the last 4 months I have been feeling awful. Loss of appetite, weight loss, nausea, severe pain in back and under ribs and stomach area, excess gas I kept going to my GP and he brushed me off basically telling me I was fine. I kept enduring the pain. I demanded he give me back xrays and ct scan. They both were normal so they say.
Avatar m tn Hello, My case can look rather particular in fact it is the second time in ten years that I have to undergo surgery due to ovarian cysts ruptures on my right ovary and every time the doctors in ER first think of an acute appendicitis which make them run a quantity of useless tests while I am in pain and makes me even more doubtful and worried.
Avatar f tn Hello, Your abdominal symptoms of constipation and rectal bleeding are related to each other but are unrelated to ovarian cysts. A complex ovarian cyst is less common than simple ovarian cyst. At such a young age it can eb dermoid cyst which is a type of complex ovarian cyst and is the most common type and develops during the childbearing age. Complex ovarian cysts are generally benign. The risk of malignancy is generally higher among postmenopausal women.
Avatar f tn Possible ovarian cancer diagnosis. Has anyone ever seen a CA 125 level of 30 but have every damn symptom of ovarian cancer?? Urine leakage/frequent urination, bloated stomach, history of many cysts on ovaries, loss of appetite How worried should I be with normal CA 125 but all these symptoms above?
Avatar f tn During a CT scan for a lower GI issue, they found that I also had ovarian cysts on my right side. I was shocked and surprised. I have had recurring right side pain for years and never once connected it to my ovaries. I just figured it was joint pain normail with being 48 years old. So many things make more sense now with back pain, hip pain, leg pain, bloating. Anyway, my PCP referred me to by GYN and my first appt is next week.
Avatar n tn A ct scan is sometimes carried out if ovarian cancer is suspected and you are having symptoms . A diagnosis of ovarian cancer can only for definate be made after pathology review with samples from the tissue. Are you having symptoms ? . A bit more info if possible would be helpful thanks.
Avatar f tn I had 5 lg ovarian cysts that my dr. (OBGYN fertility) wanted to surgically remove from my uterus. I had a friend tell me about CASTER OIL as a remedy for naturally removing the cysts by using "cold pressed caster oil compresses". I tried this and it worked !!!- it actually removed all 5 of my cysts!! Now my doctor is upset with me. Saying it's not safe. Really and surgery is?? People have use caster oil since Before Christ. Why is this not safe?
Avatar f tn suggested you do ? Ovarian Cysts and ovarian cancer can cause many similar symptoms. There is absolutely no way to tell for certain unless and until surgery is performed and the path results come back. Having said that, cysts are very very common and 95% benign. The best course of action is to speak with your physician to see what his recommended course of action is. They may possibly suggest removal, but sometimes, they prefer to wait awhile to see if they resolve themselves.
Avatar n tn Hello, Mostly they are symptomless But Ovarian cysts can, however, cause problems if they twist, bleed, or rupture. Most ovarian cysts will go away on their own. But if they cause the above mentioned symptoms then they need treatment. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
Avatar n tn If you scoll down to the right side of this page you will see Related Communities (underneath Community Members) and the Ovarian Cyst link is there. Those women are very experienced with ovarian cysts and I am sure they will be able to answer your questions.

Avatar n tn Someone I know recently has been diagnosed with ovarian cysts and is experiencing heavy night sweats. She is only 33 years old and is wondering how to relieve her symptoms.
Avatar f tn I was hospitalized in 2011 after taking a thousand pregnancy tests. Ovarian cysts have almost identical symptoms to an eptopic pregnancy. In less than a month I went from a size 9 to such abdominal swelling it looked like I was due any day and I couldn't button my size 13s! It was the most horrible pain I had been through next to giving birth. Move was a leaking cyst in my right ovary. Either way you should see a doctor.
Avatar n tn I have peritoneal cancer ... symptoms exactly same as for ovarian. ONLY a biopsy of tissue can confirm the diagnosis. The cells even look the same as ovarian .. the only difference was that my ovaries were fine .. it started in the "peritoneum" instead of in the ovaries. The peritoneum is thin membrane that lines the abdominal and pelvic cavities, and covers most abdominal viscera. Get yourself to a Gyn initially for the CA125 and possible trans vaginal untra sound ...
Avatar n tn If the pain and chills continue, or if she develops a fever she needs to be evaluated by a gynecologist for ultrasound. Ovarian cysts are usually benign growths and are not as uncommon as some people think. The only thing that causes ovarian cysts to become an emergency if they are large, if it is causing the ovary to twist, or if an infection develops. However, I believe that the cause of your wife's discomfort if from a rupturing ovarian cyst. I hope she gets to feeling better soon.
Avatar n tn Hi, I have a couple of questions about ovarian cyst symptoms. Do ovarian cysts cause mid cycle spotting and lower back pain? And if so how common are these symptoms?

Avatar f tn Hi, Just browsing the internet and figured I'd put myself out there... I had my first ovarian cyst at 18 or 19 years old and I'm now 22, almost 23 and have had multiples ovarian cysts since then. Just a week ago, I had a 9cm. cyst removed. This is taking such an emotional toll on me. I'm afraid this will affect my fertility and health. Also, OTC pain medications do not help at all unfortunately.
Avatar f tn s been 4 months since i started my treatment, but the problem is that i have developed twice during this period ovarian cysts 3-5 cm, which cause me great pain. My doctor insists that visanne should prevent me from developing ovarian cysts, and every time this happens i have to take for 20 days secondary progesterone. So my question is should i look for somethng else? Maybe my thiroid or any other hormones that could cause ovarian cysts?

Avatar f tn I am sorry that you had to go through so much. I think you should get back to your doctor and get those cysts checked. Also try to get the D&C repeated. If you got symptoms, they need to be taken care of.
Avatar f tn After multiple tests (ultrasound, ct scan and MRI) I was told I have complex ovarian cysts 5×4 cm on both ovaries and pancreatic cyst that is over 1cm . I have 2 questions. 1. Since I very much refuse and will be refusing contraceptives , how else naturally can I cure ovarian cysts? 2. Can acidic taste in my mouth with coating on my tongue and lower back pain be due to pancreatic cyst?
