Avatar f tn In the past twelve months, I have had five ruptured ovarian cysts (always on my left side) and had all the symptoms discussed by others. I had a cyst rupture a week ago today and it is the worst one I have ever had. The pain has been much worse than previous ruptured cysts and has lasted longer. Usually, my peak pain lasts a few days. This time, a week later, I pretty much feel like I did day one.
Avatar m tn I have already in the past had a ruptured right ovarian cyst has well as a bartholins cyst removed twice on the right side within a two month period. The pan I have had feels like I have a something the size of a tennis ball pushing down trough my vaginal area for 9 months. Just hope I a finally getting to the bottom of it all as I am at the end of my tether with this pressure and pain.
Avatar f tn I am not a Dr by any means, but can tell you experience about a ruptured cyst. I had numerous ovarian cysts, some would rupture, some would need surgery. When I would have a rupture usually it was a very serious, intense, double me over type pain that would ease in a couple of hours, but still feel tender. My last cyst that ruptured however did become a more emergent surgery for me.
Avatar n tn Your symptoms do sound very much like it could be a cyst.. but many other things can cause the same symptoms. When you request that ultra sound.... make sure it is a Transvaginal Ultrasound... aka TVUS... not a regular ultrasound... And... I know you know this but remember 95-99% of all ovarian cysts are benign !!!
Avatar n tn i was told i have two ovarian cyst one on each side. I was told one ruptured and they found fluids. How long will the pain last. My cyst are only 1. something centimeters.
1324051 tn?1275414812 Why would I be having intermittent pelvic issues due to small functional cysts? Why would a ruptured cyst still be bothering me a month later? Could going off of oral contraceptives for 3 months and then going back on be causing hormonal issues that cause discomfort? Thanks for your time.
Avatar m tn I am wondering if we should be alarmed and if the blood filled ruptured cyst means ovarian cancer, and whether because it ruptured the blood would have affected other areas with cancer cells. Im truly so sorry for the lengthy message but I wanted to give you enough info on Tracie and I couldn't do it shorter. Thank you so so much and I shall anxiously wait for your reply.
Avatar f tn I had to get off of the pill because all I had was cyst after cyst. I had to have an abdominal laparoscopy done to remove the cysts, because they were large. My OBGYN told me that if I didnt want anymore cysts to get on the Depo Provera shot. so I started taking the shot and I have not had one cyst that I know of since. I have a pelvic ultrasound done every 6 months to check for them and the ultrasound is always negative.
Avatar f tn Ovarian cysts are fluid-filled sacs that form in the ovaries and are common during the childbearing years. Symptoms of ovarian cysts include pain or bloating in the abdomen, difficulty or frequent urinating, dull ache in the lower back, painful menstruation and abnormal bleeding, nausea or vomiting and loss of appetite. If the the cyst has ruptured, severe pain and possible bleeding internally may be observed.
603452 tn?1253038747 you could have an ovarian cyst. The pain could be it growing or it could have ruptured (or is leaking). A cyst doesn't always mean you have Endo but there is a good chance. Be aggressive with your doctor. If you can afford lap (insurance should pay a good bit of it) do it! It's the only true way to get diagnosed. You don't want to feel pain forever. As women, we get so busy with our children, husbands, homes, jobs, etc., we fail to take care of ourselves most of the time.
1284894 tn?1272171454 Unfortunately there is nothing they can do for a ruptured cyst. When a cyst ruptures ( a fluid filled) your body absorbs the fluid back into your body. Please know that we will be here to support you in any way we can.
Avatar f tn Abdominal Pain and Possible Ruptured Ovarian Cyst. What I don't understand is why I haven't had any bleeding or symptoms before that. I know people who have had ruptured ovarian cysts and they ended up having surgery. This Doctor pretty much just shrugged her shoulders and wrote a prescription for Tylenol 3 then told me to follow up with my gyno in a couple of days. Now Im just bloated, tender, and still in pain.
Avatar m tn I have a follow up with my ob gyn on the 1st, so hopefully I'll find out if this was the only cyst I had. When I had the ultrasound you'd think that they would have found more cysts if I had them, but with the doctors I had been seeing they didn't find anything until it was ruptured. Will my period come back soon if the cyst has ruptured?
Avatar f tn Has anyone on here had an ovarian cyst rupture and abdominal bloating not gone away? Had a cyst ruptured 4 months ago.... abdomen is still huge.... I don't know what to think? Cancer?
Avatar n tn What are the lingering effects of a ruptured ovarian cyst? I've had cysts before but this one is different. It ruptured almost two weeks ago, causing extreme abdominal pain. I recognized the pain so I went to an urgent care the next day instead of the ER. A few days later, I began having lower back pain. Now I have other symptoms such as fatigue, moodiness, lighter/shorter periods, frequent urination. My appetite has changed.
960507 tn?1384167219 I am 29, and I am about to go in for my 5th surgery for ovarian cyst. I haven't had my left tube and ovary for 6 years. I had a cyst that ruptured and caused serious internal bleeding. I was on birth control pills and then the doctor decided to give me an iud to stop my periods. Then 1 year to the day later, I ended up back in the ER with the same symptoms as before but on my right ovary. And sure enough I had another cyst that ruptured and caused internal bleeding again.
Avatar f tn If you beleive a cyst has ruptured, you need to see a gyn or the ER asap. An untreated ruptured cyst can lead into sever complications and even infertiltily. Please go to the ER or your gyn to avoid complications.
Avatar f tn Hello all! I am 31 and have history of complex ovarian cysts that have all resolved on their own. Last month I had another cyst that ruptured as well as an ectopic pregnancy. I am almost certain I had another this cycle, aching on left ovary and feeling of pressure on the bladder, now I am having constant discomfort under my right rib cage, almost feels like a gas bubble trapped.
Avatar f tn 1 cm. A few small subcentimeter left follicular ovarian cysts are identified. There is no longer evidence of previously described 2.0 cm complex left ovarian cyst. The right ovary measures 3.8 x 2.0 x 4.0 cm and contains a thick walled complex right ovarian cyst measuring 3.4 x 1.4 x 4.0 cm. This was not noted on prior MRI examination. Clinical correlation and close follow-up is recommended. Small amount of free fluid is noted within the cul-de-sac. Impression: Status post hysterectomy.
Avatar n tn During the waiting period, I had a fever, vomiting, chills, night sweats, headaches, weight loss and gain(mostly) but I did not associate these symptoms with the cyst. Should I tell the doctor of those other symptoms or should I just see a specialist? Plus the cyst was very large before it ruptured and now it is very small and the pain is increasing and in other areas.
Avatar f tn It was not an STD, in fact there was no known cause for the infection other than the theory of a ruptured cyst 3 weeks earlier. I do have a history of cysts and one other ruptured on in 2007. I was put on the Nuva Ring today to help control the cause. Again, thank you for your answer!!
Avatar m tn The cyst was discovered while trying to determine the cause of abdominal pain that turned out to be a ruptured cyst on the right ovary. After reading a lot on the internet, it seems that removing it more common than watching and waiting, but I cannot find any discussion about removing the ovary in a perimenopausal woman. I understand that my right ovary would continue to function, but wonder if there is an underlying risk of which I am not aware.
919507 tn?1267591732 My first cyst was hemorrhagic and I never knew it was there until it ruptured. While my husband and I weren't actively trying to conceive I never got pregnant while I had the cyst. Once I had surgery to remove it we conceived within 4 months. Cysts are very annoying when it comes to TTC since they can wreak havoc on your hormones. As Trudie said it is best to have your doc evaluate and develop a game plan. Best of Luck to you!
