Avatar f tn A friend of mine was speaking to a nurse she knows about my situation and she said the bleeding and pain was likely caused solely by the cysts. So my question is, with cysts still relatively small would they cause the bleeding? Is there any way of knowing (tests, ect) the exact cause of the bleeding?
Avatar f tn Hello, Your abdominal symptoms of constipation and rectal bleeding are related to each other but are unrelated to ovarian cysts. A complex ovarian cyst is less common than simple ovarian cyst. At such a young age it can eb dermoid cyst which is a type of complex ovarian cyst and is the most common type and develops during the childbearing age. Complex ovarian cysts are generally benign. The risk of malignancy is generally higher among postmenopausal women.
Avatar f tn From what I have read most ovarian cysts, even in post-menopausal women, are benign and don't require intervention. This website by a reputable ob/gyn addresses this at the bottom of the webpage with the heading "Can an ovarian cyst form after menopause." http://www.ovaryresearch.com/ovarian_cysts.htm Absent a genetic predisposition for ovarian cancer such as BRCA1+ or BRCA2+, a woman's lifetime risk of ovarian cancer is less than 2%, 1.
1337047 tn?1275914064 m going to call his office tomorrow morning to see if I can hurry this up a bit. I just want to know if anyone out there has had bleeding due to pressure of an ovarian cyst (I feel very heavy and cumbersome and feel as if my insides are falling out). I'm losing weight too despite this thing growing still. Any help would be appreciated.
Avatar n tn Many cysts do resolve themselves but the fact that you are having pain may mean they have not. Please have your doctor run another transvaginal ultrasound to check. Good luck with everything.
Avatar f tn Hi, Sorry, I don't know much about the "Mirena".. What does your Dr. say about the cysts? How were they found? You might check out the top right of this page "Health Pages" . It has a lot of information about Ovarian Cysts. Cysts are very common in younger women, but you must ask the Dr. about the IUD /Mirena. I truly have no idea about that.
Avatar n tn t know what the large blood vessels means. When do you hear from your doctor on the results? Your symptoms are very indicative of ovarian cysts. There is some good information on the health pages (top right). Please keep us posted.
Avatar f tn I have a long history of ovarian cysts that usually go away, but also a family history of cancer. They came across a larger than usuall one on my left side and started to watch it, as of now it has continued to grow and they're now considering it complex. My question is they tested my Alpha-Fetoprotein levels and they are elevated, is this common with ovarian cysts or does this mean I need to be concerned with cancer? Any and all information would be appreciated.
Avatar n tn i read on a medical web page not long after finding out that i myself have a hemmhoragic cyst on my left ovary that fertility drugs can help to cause ovarian cysts because most ovarian cysts are caused by the eggs not making it all the way out of the ovary or something of that sort and they just kind of pile up inside of the ovary and form a cyst. however, i did read that most ovarian cysts go away sometime during ovulation.

Avatar n tn ve never had any pain even before I found out I had ovarian cysts. Usually its symptoms are prolonged bleeding, heavy bleeding, or absence of menses for a couple months (all of which I experienced). thatquitegirl is right, visiting a doctor would be the best thing to do to confirm any ovarian cysts and to know why youre having those abdominal pains.
Avatar f tn I have bleeding cysts but my doctor says they arent bad enough for surgery is her right?
Avatar m tn t t know where to put it so I put it here.
Avatar f tn HI. How long has the cyst been there? When cysts are discovered the doctors will normally observe it for up to 3 months to see if it disappears itself, which a lot of cysts can. If it is causing severe pain, not resolving, or if it is suspicious in any way the cyst may be removed or drained. Most ovarian cysts are harmless.
Avatar f tn I had went back to the er with sever pain on both sides, so they took me in to surgury which took 4 hr I dont remember a thing when I woke up they explain that one of my cysts had opened up and I was bleeding inside my stomach. I'm lucky they caught it in time and that still have kids and they didnt have to result anything.
Avatar f tn When did you have the ultrasound done and did they do a TV/US, which is a trans-vaginal ultrasound that gives a better view than a regular abdominal ultrasound. Ovarian cysts are fairly common in young women and develop during ovulation. There is a lot of information about cyst at the top of the page on the cyst forum, click on heath pages to look up the cyst link.
Avatar n tn I had to go into the hospital b/c I was bleeding extremely heavy. My doctor did the u/s b/c of the bleeding and found this cyst. My doctor wants to do another u/s in 2 months unless I have heavy bleeding this next period or severe abdominal pain, then he will do the u/s sooner. He is concerned of cancer. Is that jumping the gun? I read that 95% of cysts are benign but what about the % of septated cysts. The reading I have done online linked my kind of cysts with cancer.
Avatar f tn Hello, I am a little worried I may have ovarian cancer. I have been bleeding for one month straight and it is not light, it has clots and changes colour from brown to bright red! I have pcos but have never experienced this. Has anyone had this?
Avatar f tn I have had an ultrasound and MRI that indicate an ovarian cyst (6cm, 4cm) in my left ovary. OB/GYN suggests oopherectomy and testing cysts during thsi surgery to determine if more would need to be done. MRI shows septations and Ultrasound mentioned something about possibly internal papillary projections. MRI offers no definitive answer...just possibility cyst could be a hemmoragic cyst, an endometrioma, or cystic neoplasm.
Avatar f tn The pain, an ovarian cyst can provide. But the bleeding? I've had a lot of ovarian cysts in my day and never once did any of them bleed. Bleeding like a period (or a little less) sounds like a progesterone drop for whatever reason. If the op's natural hormone levels shifted slightly downward, that could have caused a not-enough-progesterone situation that has caused the bleeding.
Avatar f tn m sorry to read this! Have you researched fibroids? Ovarian cysts? Those are two possibilities. I sure hope it resolves and hope you also come back and tell us about your doctor's appointment in January. Maybe you are a good candidate for ablation! This helped a friend of mine who had similar problems to you. Let us know!
Avatar f tn I have a ovarian cysts, as well as thyroid issues. I would like to know if they are connected-too.
