Avatar f tn I have had problems with heavy abnormal bleeding all my life and now I am 34 years old. When I say abnormal, most frequently I typically bleed for anywhere from 1-3 months without stopping. Please help! Thanks!
Avatar f tn Generally, you would not have all these symptoms with a 3.5cm ovarian cyst. However, cysts affect some women much more than others. So I suppose it is possible. Have you seen a doctor?
Avatar f tn The pain, an ovarian cyst can provide. But the bleeding? I've had a lot of ovarian cysts in my day and never once did any of them bleed. Bleeding like a period (or a little less) sounds like a progesterone drop for whatever reason. If the op's natural hormone levels shifted slightly downward, that could have caused a not-enough-progesterone situation that has caused the bleeding.
Avatar f tn m sorry to read this! Have you researched fibroids? Ovarian cysts? Those are two possibilities. I sure hope it resolves and hope you also come back and tell us about your doctor's appointment in January. Maybe you are a good candidate for ablation! This helped a friend of mine who had similar problems to you. Let us know!
Avatar f tn What is the symptoms of ovarian cysts? i'm having a scan next week on my ovary's because the doctor wants to test for them.
Avatar n tn For the past 2 years I have had digestive problems- the usual heartburn, diarrhea, abdominal pains, bloating, gas. I was diagnosed with Acid Reflux Disease after visiting my gastroenterologist and having an endoscopy done. Two years later, the problems have persisted and gotten worse, this time with pain in my upper right side and upper back area(gallbladder area). I was diagnosed with having gallstones and had my gallbladder removed a week ago.
Avatar f tn HI, Ovarian cysts can cause symptoms like abnormal bleeding during menses, pain in the abdomen, swelling or lump in the abdomen, and pressure symptoms on bladder or bowel if the cyst is very large. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn However the bleeding you are having is definitely abnormal and needs immediate medical attention. Abnormal bleeding can be due to various other reasons like endometrial hyperplasia, ovarian cysts, hormonal imbalance, PCOS etc. Check up with a gynaecologist and an ultrasound scan will help make matters clear. Take care and good luck.
Avatar f tn I had a CT Scan for these problems and it showed a cystic mass on my ovary so I had to go to my Gyn and had a Pelvic Sonogram. I have read that sometimes Ovarian Cancer can have the same symptoms as these other problems. Is that true? Also, what is your interpertation of the following results from my ultrasound. Status: Post Hysterctomy & Left Oophorectomy (this was done in 2006 for problems with very heavy bleeding and cysts on my left ovary) Right ovary measures 5 by 8.
Avatar f tn Having abnormal bleeding and had a pelvic ultrasound, I got the results back and the Dr. said I have an ovarian cyst. I follow up in 6 weeks to re-check. Anyone out there have this problem?
Avatar n tn If not, you should call the office and let them know about your symptoms. Tell them you think it may be related to your cysts and that you need to see your doctor again. He can give you a transvaginal ultrasound to check on the size of the cysts. You know your body best and any increase in symptoms warrants another doctor visit. That said, most cysts do turn out to be benign. If your doctor didn't let you know your cysts were worrisome after the CT, then that is a good sign.
Avatar f tn What are the symptoms of ovarian cysts and tumors? Often, ovarian cysts don't cause any symptoms. You may not realize you have one until you visit your health care provider for a routine pelvic exam. Ovarian cysts can, however, cause problems if they twist, bleed, or rupture. If you have any of the symptoms below, it's important to have them checked out. That's because they can also be symptoms of ovarian tumors. Ovarian cancer often spreads before it is detected.
1832630 tn?1318056776 Symptoms depend on the location of the fibroid and its size. Symptoms include abnormal gynecologic haemorrhage, heavy or painful periods, abdominal discomfort or bloating, pelvic pain, back ache, difficulty having a bowel movement or painful bowel movements, urinary frequency or retention, and in some cases, infertility. During pregnancy they may be the cause of miscarriage, bleeding, premature labor, or interference with the position of the fetus.
Avatar f tn HI. How long has the cyst been there? When cysts are discovered the doctors will normally observe it for up to 3 months to see if it disappears itself, which a lot of cysts can. If it is causing severe pain, not resolving, or if it is suspicious in any way the cyst may be removed or drained. Most ovarian cysts are harmless.
Avatar f tn t heard or read about bleeding with intercourse as being a common symptom with ovarian cysts. However, I do know that I had terrible pain with sex when I had my ovarian tumor. It was one of my first warning signs that something was not right. It sounds like you have had follow-up, so I am assuming all looked normal in your uterus. I would think the bleeding would indicate a problem in the uterus, cervix or vaginal tissue more than on the ovary. The cramping could definitely be the cyst.
Avatar f tn Most ovarian cysts are not cancerous. Have you had an ultrasound of the same ovary before and it looked exactly like the other one? That would rule out a dermoid cyst, which would have been there from birth and so must have been seen if you had ever had an ultrasound prior to this one. There is also a kind of cyst that contains apparent endometrial tissue (can't remember if it is real migrated tissue or just something that looks like it). Those are called a "chocolate cyst.
Avatar n tn Does it happen every month? Every woman gets ovarian cysts. Most don't even know. Normally filled with liquid. They pop, and get obsorbed into the body. Some do feel the pain. But there are some that can be a real problem. I would go discuss it with my OB/GYN. Let us know what happens!
Avatar f tn I am planning to get operated in a few weeks not knowing if they will remove just one ovary which is grown due to ovarian cysts, both and/or do a hysterectomy. I have had no symptoms (bleeding, bloating or irregular menstrual cycles) or have felt ill. I am searching for information on treatment plans and personal experiences. Thanks in advance for your help.
Avatar n tn I recently went to the doctor for abnormal bleeding, discharge, pain after intercourse, and irregular periods. I have a vaginal ultrasound showing sists on one of my ovaries and an area of my uterus was irregularly thick. My doctor did some bloodwork and now I am just waiting for the labs to get back. He didn't say much about what it could be which scares me a little because my doc is very open and forthcoming. I am 23, have two babies under 2yrs old, and had a tubal ligation last July.
543435 tn?1282242679 It may be b/c there can be so many symptoms and problems with cysts and everyone is different. Personally, I did not spot when I had my cysts but that doesn't mean it can't happen. I think cysts, when they grow and get out of hand, upset our hormones so maybe that's why you're spotting? You said you have a doctor appointment on Friday so please ask him/her about it.
Avatar f tn Although popped cysts were painful and caused abnormal bleeding my menstrual cycle has been between 25-32 days consistently. I also had ovarian cysts in January 2006. My February period started on the 28th I have had cramping, bloating, and back pain since March 16, I began to menstruate on the 26th.
Avatar n tn I started some bleeding two days ago. It is minor so far, with some slight PMS symptoms. I had a pap smear a few months ago and it was fine. I used to have regular periods. I had my tubes tied at the same time I had a c-section at age 38. Should I be concerned?
Avatar f tn Some women do have harmless but burdensome ovarian cysts that cause more cramping and bleeding. Anyway, they may opt to try you on the pill to see if that makes it easier on you. so, talk to your doctor!
