Avatar m tn I have osteoarthritis in six cervical vertebrae, and without management the pain is incapacitating. I prefer Tramadol because of the reduced/nonexistent side effects. It stops the pain, and allows me to function- no "high". I am also prescribed one half Endocet up to twice daily for severe flair-ups. Sometimes it works, as it's a fast-acting, short term medication, and the small amount keeps the withdraw sickness away. But it is habit-forming, and I treat it with caution.

Avatar n tn If PT isn't helping, you can consider another orthopedic opinion to see whether surgery is an option. You can also consider a pain management specialist to help manage the discomfort. If cervical DJD is a problem, spinal injections to help relieve the discomfort can be considered. Another option would be a referral to a neurologist to consider electrodiagnostic testing to determine if there is nerve damage. These options can be discussed with your personal physician.

I want to inquire about this without seeming like I am trying to get medications or anything.

Avatar f tn Chiropractors can actually make some conditions worse. They are not medical doctors.
