Avatar n tn Hello; for the past few months I have been experiencing a pain in my knee, it is just to the outside of the patella. It is a very sharp pain, like an electrical shock. It happens totally at random. It can happen when I am walking, sitting, sleeping, etc. When the pain is not occurring, my knee feels completely normal. When it happens, it usually happens every few seconds or minutes, then stops for several hours. I am not aware of any injury or unusual stress to that area.
Avatar f tn Cook more healthily with as little oil as possible. Boil, steam, grill or roast foods instead. Use olive oil or a little coconut oil. She still can have a small surgary treat now and then, but not every day. Health snacks are a piece of fruit, and handful of grapes, celery with peanut butter if she likes that. You can find more information on that on the web. Best to eat small portion meals and have a healthy snack in between. Ensure too that she has plenty of fluids and especially water.
Avatar f tn I have supplemented by medicationsand got additional relief by making an oil of olive oil (one cup) and mixing in 1/2 tsp. of ground cayenne. This I used warmed, and it doesn't seem to bother me. I don't have any food allergies, though. I don't don't what is causing your pain, of course, but I think I'd let the doctors test away specifically if the same type of pain is consistant. I sure hope you get reliief, and some answers. OUCH!
Avatar f tn I'm with you on this Red Star, I have the book too and honestly I haven't read it in its entirety, but I have to agree with you about the cholesterol and saturated fat myth, which still plays like an 30+ year old broken record.

1550149 tn?1340004330 There is some evidence that an excess of oleic acid (found chiefly in olive oil and nuts) may inhibit fat production as well. On the other hand, saturated fats, especially lauric acid found in unrefined coconut oil, improve the body's production of DHA and EPA essential fatty acids. The best form of omega-3 fatty acids are found in cod liver oil and fish oils. See Fats & Oils, Cod Liver Oil, Candida Supplements, and Healthy Diet Supplements.
Avatar n tn I don't have money to spend on beauty products, nor on many supplements. So my routine is so basic it's ridiculous. I use simply coconut oil or extra virgin olive oil (organic). I lather it all over my arms, legs and face, and off I go for a run. By the time I've finished, it's absorbed and my skin is fairly dewy with sweat and moisture. I don't shower afterward either, because I want to keep my skin looking that way.
475586 tn?1225027354 My knees do have osteoarthritis in them--I had an MRI. I also have 2 herniated discs in my neck and kyphosis. My sister has RA, so I thought I had it also, but the doctors say no. I have a rheumatologist who is very nice, although most of the treatments I've been getting for fibro are not doing much. He seems sure that other than my knees and my neck, what I have is fibromyalgia. I have pain all the time, aching and soreness and also the sharp, stabbing pains.
Avatar m tn I saw many web sites and in each one of them many people describe there itch in the same way. Some opportunists try to sale snake oil on internet to make a buck. But there is no any educated doctor to give any explenation.

Avatar n tn I have had this happen in my fingers for years, but in the past few months I have had vessels pop on my leg (side of calf just below knee) and on the inside of my right wrist. This one was prettly painful and I kept pressure on it until the burning subsided. Has anyone else had this happen in these areas?
Avatar n tn prescribe topical corticosteroid ointment, also read about trying lanolin cream or hydrogenated vegetable oil, thought I'd give that a shot. The skin seems to be so thin and cracks very easily, I do experience burning sometimes during sex also. I also would appreciate any help on this matter.
Avatar n tn been on a low-fat and bland diet for over one month (no ground beef, nothing fried, no oil, no mayo, no cream sauces, no butter, etc.). I still have symptoms daily and am always uncomfortable with belching, whether I have had a bland meal or even a glass of water. Symptoms last for hours on end. The newest symptom is diarrhea after meals, sometimes, when I have not even yet finished eating. I am really hoping that surgery is the answer and that we will not have to search for another cause.

Avatar n tn I'm hoping it's just stones that aren't calcified and maybe that's why nothing showed on the ultrasound, I'll get my gold coin grass tincture soon and that's supposed to relieve the symptoms of gallstones and soften them up before I try a olive oil and lemon juice gallbladder flush.
Avatar n tn on the 3rd night, before going to bed, drink 3/4 cup each of freshly squeezed lemon juice and extra virgin olive oil; in the AM you may pass hundreds of gall stones and have reduced or no hypoglycemia symptoms that very day forward.
Avatar f tn yes, burning hot knife pain in several areas of the feet and a hot knife a couple inches above right knee... really the bottom of the right quadricep. Also, general achiness in my legs which I have never had before and extreme fatigue that can last 3 to 7 days and then I'll be okay for awhile, even though I feel as if something is wrong. Its chronic, but not in intensity. A bit of a roller coaster but I dread the mornings. Absolutely dread having to take those first steps...
Avatar f tn It was right after eating a fairly large meal at Olive Garden. I felt the thumping of the heart skips, got sweaty, heart racing, caused panic, etc. I went to the hospital, all fine other than elevated blood pressure. After that I suffered pretty badly with it for about 2 years, thinking I had all kinds of problems, saw a number of doctors etc. One actually told me it was a vagus nerve "attack". Those words did not connect until past year or so. I started to learn to live with it.
Avatar n tn I do have thryroid disease (Hypo) and osteoarthritis. I've been told I have Fibromaylgia...(not sure of the spelling). Oh and I have also started swelling in my abdomen when I eat certain foods like wheat or soy...but I have never had any gluten problems before now and i refuse to believe my body is not accepting gluten after 40 years. Really! Its just weird. This is excruciating pain on at a rank of 9 when I wake up. Whats up with that??? I hope someone finds an answer?
Avatar f tn Two weeks ago, I purchased Olive Leaf, Probiotics (refrigerated kind), Thisilyn, Bromelain, Adrenal Caps, Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, Pau D'Arco and Yeast Cleanse from my local Vitamin Shoppe. I have been taking everything in 2 capsules, 3 times a day and am feeling SO much better. The olive leaf, yeast cleanse and Pau D'Arco I take 30 minutes before a meal and everything else I take with my meal. I am also getting about 20-30 minutes of sun every day to help with my Vitamin D levels.
