Avatar f tn my knee hurts when i bend it. i can still walk but it hurts. i haven't hit my leg on anything, i thought maybe it could be my new tempurpedic matress, but it is only my knee. the pain is increasing every day. any ideas?
Avatar m tn Classically morning pain and stiffness at end range of motion is noted in two conditions. Osteoarthritis of the knee joint is a common problem after 60 years of age. Patients present with knee pain that is aggravated by weight-bearing activities and relieved by rest. No systemic symptoms but usually awakens with morning stiffness that dissipates somewhat with activity. In addition to chronic joint stiffness and pain, episodes of acute synovitis may also be noted.
Avatar n tn Hi, I can understand from your post that she is indeed having hip pain and radicular pain too. Common causes of hip pain include dislocation, fracture, and osteoarthritis. Axial low back pain with a referral pain pattern may also occur in the hip. It is more common, however, for axial low back pain with referral pain to occur in the buttocks and/or leg(s) in a pattern that is difficult to localize.
Avatar f tn Was told that it was early stages of Osteoarthritis. The pain with this was unbearable. I was in tears with the pain. I was put onto Pannadeine Forte. It would take almost an hour for them to kick in an kill the pain. Over the years I have been getting unexplained aches an pains in all my joints, doctors says its just your arthritis, take these pills ( Naprosyn ) an things will get better. They usually did, so I never went back until the next time.
Avatar n tn HOWEVER, A YEAR AGO THE LEFT HIP LOST RANGE OF MOTION AND I WAS UNABLE TO CROSS THE LEFT LEG OVER THE RIGHT KNEE. IT WASN'T UNTIL THE SPRING '98 THAT I GOT SOME RANGE OF MOTION TO RETURN WHICH WAS A RESULT OF MY ORTHOPEDIST I WAS SEEING FOR AN IMPINGEMENT OF THE SHOULDER GAVE ME A 6 DAY PACK OF STERIODS. I HAVEN'T FULLY RETURNED TO A COMPLETE RANGE OF MOTION WITH THE LEFT HIP AND STILL HAVE SHARP STABBING PAIN IN THE LEFT HIP JOINT WITH PAIN TO THE GROIN.
Avatar n tn I have osteoarthritis in multiple sites in my body...and may be facing a total knee replacement also. I had the great toe joints "redesigned" last year bilaterally, and have a bulgeing disc at T-8. I a first grade teacher, and am also concerned how this surgery will affect my ability to be responsive to the needs of my children in class.
Avatar n tn Do you have diabetes, vasculities, vitamin B12 or folate deficiency, drink alot of alcohol, osteoarthritis, etc? Does the pain come and go, or is it the same every day? Are there specific areas in your shoulder and arm that hurt more than others? Where in your hand, which fingers hurt? How did the pain start? What is your age? Any medical problems other than your pain? Pain medication might help but you need to find the etiology of the pain.

975514 tn?1325001538 I knew I wasn't depressed and had had bad experiences before with being prescribed them based on past misdiagnoses of depression as the etiology of my pain. however, I gave the new doctor the benefit of the doubt and tried the savella and my pain vanished almost immediately. I'm having some side affects, but they seem to be gradually diminishing. I've been on it for about 2 months and it's still freaky to realize that there's no constant pain.
Avatar n tn I have had this happen in my fingers for years, but in the past few months I have had vessels pop on my leg (side of calf just below knee) and on the inside of my right wrist. This one was prettly painful and I kept pressure on it until the burning subsided. Has anyone else had this happen in these areas?
Avatar n tn http://www.healthboards.com/boards/archive/index.php/t-13529.html <-- All 3 people sound convincing, but I agree with "wrenegade" that the flush makes a lot of sense to me. Yes it could cause a lot of pain, and maybe emergency surgery, but seeing as how my ultrasound didn't show any calcified stones I doubt that there are any stones big enough to get stuck in the bile ducts, especially if I properly dilate the ducts with heat and other methods.
