its bright red in colour and there isnt tooo much of it, it just sits on one side of the stool. Im not sure whether its the actual stool or the mucus that is attached to it that is red... did some research... cancer cancer cancer cancer is all that im faced with :s Anyone give me any light on the situation?

Hello my 12 year old was taking omnicef for a ear infection and 10 days into it she got hives all over her body and they come and go and really ichy do you think it's from the Omnicef?
Are there any known side effects for Shen Calmer and Liver Happy Capsules? My dog has been taking them for about a week now. He is taking them for anxiety, no signs of relief yet, but no prescriptions have helped him so this is our last resort. The second day he vomited and the vet said she hadn't ever seen that so we have kept going.
One day without anything in my life changing, emotionally or food wise I had a lot of noise in my stomach, on the left mostly then the next day diarrhea, and diarrhea ever since for four months now. I have seen a doctor and had a colonoscopy done, gall bladder ultrasound, blood tests, stool tests and found everything to be normal. The next test they will do will be on the stomach. I can't figure out why this would happen when I was feeling so normal and everything going well.
antibiotics (was misdiagnosed for weeks) took a few days to kick in, and at times I couldnt tell the difference between the infection and the side effects of the med. Many many false negatives here too (lab protocol wasnt followed, toxins break down at room temp and folks simply didnt have the info) until I finally got a positive. Flagyl failed for me, and I went into a round of Vancomycin, then immediately into a Vanco taper.

sorry to hear your hubby is having a hard time. sounds like he is having some of the common side effects. There is nothing that can boost platlets but many docs let them go really low before lowering or stopping the meds. Try and get back on the full strength of interferon ASAP!
Probably the most common side effect is the itching. I have it as well and it is horrible. I have found some relief with a prescription med called Atarax.
What color is the blood? Bright red blood indicates a bleed somewhere close to the anus and most commonly comes from a hemmorhoid. Dark red blood/dark and tarry looking stools (also called melena) is due to bleeding from somewhere further up in the GI tract, such as the small/large intestine. Is there a lot of blood? Are you able to take your blood pressure? If you take your blood pressure and it's low (the top number or systolic pressure) is < 100 mmHg I would go to the ER.
My 4 yr.old son had an allergic reaction to Omnicef. Hives all over and swollen hands, arms and feet. It's been 18 days and still gets a slight case of the hives . Within the last week( 3 times) he's had leg pain(muscel pain) joint pain. He has a hard time walking, usually the next day he can, it lasts anywhere from 12-24 hours. The 3 times he's had the leg pain he's either been swimming or riding a bike, took him to the hospital, blood work, x-rays and urine all came back fine.
Facial rashes, night sweats and the closing of my throat. That is when I stopped using Bactrim. All other side effects are gone except for the closing of my throat that comes on and off, especially when I'm done eating. It's been going on for 2 weeks (since my last bactrim dose). It doesn't make my breathing or eating any difficult but is just very annoying. It stopped for 2 days and happened one late night, 2-3 hours after drinking alcohol.
My doctor wants me to try a new drug called onglyza,,,brand new,,had my druggist print out some info for me, and he was most helpful,more than my doctor! though does cause some side effects,,,there is little stomach distress,,I don't know, its so hard ...I am thinking of trying a more holistic approach?? anyway, this new drug,,,235.00 a month!!!!!! I am apalled...there should be a law!
Iv always suffered with constipation and it gets so much worse during pregnancy it's unreal, haven't had BM in 2 weeks now (sometimes it's longer). I took 1 dulcolax tablet on Monday night, woke up at 4am with stomach cramps. It's been 2 days and the diarrhea is just going away but iv still not had a bowel movement.
Went to see a gastro doctor yesterday who prescribed me Docusate 100mg (Colace).
