Common Questions and Answers about Omnicef blood in stool

omnicef

Avatar n tn About 1 year ago I as given Omnicef for a bacterial infection. After 3 days of tumultuous diarrhea, I finally stopped this drug but not soon enough. Ever since then, I have had stomach problems. It first started out as irregular and often BM’s, and then progressed to A constant gnawing or burning between my breastbone and navel in addition to erratic BM’s and gas, bloating, and just an overall lousy feeling within the digestive system.
Avatar n tn ve had ulcertive colitis for 3 year now, with medication my doc said all ulcers are gone and was amazed this happened in 6 weeks. However the urgency and skinny stools never went away. On and off medications b/c it came back, the bleeding, urgency, pus, etc. I still have in the morning for over a hour, running back and forth to the bathroom diarreah. Mostly orange in color, skinny and smells.
Avatar n tn Hello my 12 year old was taking omnicef for a ear infection and 10 days into it she got hives all over her body and they come and go and really ichy do you think it's from the Omnicef?
Avatar n tn One day without anything in my life changing, emotionally or food wise I had a lot of noise in my stomach, on the left mostly then the next day diarrhea, and diarrhea ever since for four months now. I have seen a doctor and had a colonoscopy done, gall bladder ultrasound, blood tests, stool tests and found everything to be normal. The next test they will do will be on the stomach. I can't figure out why this would happen when I was feeling so normal and everything going well.
Avatar f tn I have been told that you need to worry if you see blood in your stool, versus on your stool. If the blood is in your stool, you should get checked out. I know that after tearing my rectum from hard stool, I can still bleed afterwards when my stool softens. Sorry if this is tmi.
Avatar m tn Hello and welcome to Medhelp forums. Blood in bowel movements is always frightening. When you have Crohn's Disease, blood stool is a reason to see your doctor. It's also a change in your symptoms. Therefore, we really advise you to see your doctor as soon as possible to discuss this. It has been a few days, so have you see your doctor as of yet? Here is some general information about Chron's Disease https://www.mayoclinic.
Avatar f tn Hi, i am 22 years old, male. I saw blood in my stool about 2 weeks ago. The blood sometimes fall in lining with stool while sometimes it falls in large amount with no stool, sometimes it falls like a spray when i apply pressure to defaecate. It started with a diarrhea, i had loose stool and blood in it. I saw a doctor and doctor gave medicine and told if the blood stops with the dysentry, then it is a water-borne bacterial infection otherwise it could be something else.
Avatar f tn If you have blood in your stool it will usually be very black or you could actually pass red blood...If you are having any stomach pain that you cant explain then you should probably let your dr. check you. One thing to remember if you have been taking pepto bismol or any antacid then it usually will turn your stools black....Something in the medicine causes it to turn colors...If that is the case then stop taking them for a week and see if your stools clear up....But i would still call the DR..
414635 tn?1272217693 Blood in stool is a pretty serious thing... I would definitely call the doctor immediately. Are you feeding him solids yet? If so, prunes REALLY help constipated babies, so does applesauce. Also you can try infant belly massages- you can find tutorials online- they can help loosen his stool. Good luck- keep us updated!
Avatar n tn today makes it 7 days since my daughter give birth and she said whenever she stool or use the bathroom there is blood in her stool , she has no pain or discomfort just that when she wipes she sees blood and when she stool the water has a bloody look. What you think might be the problem?
Avatar f tn During this time I noticed blood in my stool and went to a clinic. I had blood work done and gave a stool sample. These tests have since come back within normal ranges and I feel well again with no signs of blood in my stool now. I am a 37 year old female with no previous history of blood in my stool. Also, there was no pain in the rectum area or straining during bowel movements. The blood in my stool scared me.
Avatar f tn I'm allergic to sulfa, too, so I am on Rifampin. It didn't seem to help as much as the Levaquin the first time around, but this time I'm on a higher dose. I assume I'll be on it a long time. For me, Omnicef was almost useless. Within a month, my Lyme symptoms were getting worse. It's odd because Rocephin is helping a lot, and they're in the same drug family. Go figure. Omnicef is really helpful for some people, so don't be discouraged by my experience.
368396 tn?1391945302 Several months ago my husband took a lot of advil & aleve & then saw blood in his stool he stopped the drug & it seemed to go away...well its back it looks like its threaded thru the stool/or on the stool it is red & looks fresh..He went to Dr today digital found nothing he is seeing another dr. next month for consultation for colonosopy..We are just worried sick he will be 65 in nov has no other symptoms works all the time here at home so the blood is his only symptom we see...
Avatar m tn If there is blood in the actual stool, the stool color would be black. Bright red blood signals fresh blood so its usually hemmoroids but again check with your doctor.
Avatar m tn he is passing very sticky stool and SCARIEST part is that we have seen BLOOD in his stool more than 4-5 times... not in huge quantity, but the stool was coated with bright red blood... and he weeps a lot and is in severe pain while passing the stool.. also he is passing stool in intervals and every time he does that he is passing very less stool.. this is becoming a very serious cause of concern for us..
Avatar f tn The next day I noticed blood in my stool, and there was blood in my stool again today. I am 23 and have never had any symptom like this before. I didn't think the bloody stool would be related to IC, but I am not sure. I'm starting to really worry and am getting scared.
Avatar f tn I went to the bathroom this morning and there was a lot of blood in my stool. I thought that I was coming on my period. After wiping myself and checking for where the blood was, I had to go to the bathroom again, only this time, more blood than stool came out. what could this be?
Avatar m tn i have regular motions and have no irregularity in it. 1280322 tn?1302780827 Blood in your stool can be from many things, not just colon cancer. However, blood in stool should be checked out by your doctor and treated. Its not something you want to have going on a regular basis. Talk with your doctor about getting an acurate diagnosis. Could be anything from hemmorhoids to IBD's.
Avatar f tn You might have hemmorhoids from straining and they can bleed. If it is bright red blood you have nothing to worry about. If you start having black stools then go to the er because that would mean you are bleeding on the inside.
Avatar f tn TMI but, I just used the bathroom and had blood in my stool. I'm sure the blood came from my bottom, no pain or anything. FTM so I'm really scared. I called my doctor and she said everything is fine but I should come in next week to check. She said she's pretty sure it's hemorrhoids. I never had hemorrhoids so I'm not sure what to expect. Anybody else experience this? Please let me know. Baby is currently 26 weeks, 27 weeks in two days. Thanks Ladies!
Avatar n tn If you have abdominal pain, diarrhea and some blood in your stool, you really should see a doctor. This could be something quite serious, then again it could be something simple. How long have you had these symptoms? Is it only after eating food that you see traces of blood or is it a larger amount? How is your energy level? Are you feeling tired/ fatigued? You may be dehydrated. Get to your doctor or emergency room.
