omnicef

Avatar n tn My child was 1 1/2 months old when she developed a "cold" that consisted of a stuffy nose for about 1 1/2 months. After 2 bouts with antibiotics(amoxicillin & omnicef) it seemed that we were in the clear. Then about 3-4 weeks later she came down with a terrible cold that doesn't seem to want to go away and the doctors said there was nothing they could do for it.

Avatar n tn We are trying to avoid any side effects here. The longer a drug is taken, the chance for its side effects to manifest may be higher. Ask your physician about this. Putting you off the medication to see how you may fare without it will be necessary. After all, being on medication for long periods may not be very cost effective and may also result to unwanted side effects.

Avatar f tn Drug affect different people in many different ways. Just look at the side-effects listed on most drugs..... a long list and there are usually more. I have never had any reactions to antibiotics that I am aware of, but it appears you did, and others may as well.
1361044 tn?1277598308 Honestly, in my opinion, babies are so wrapped up in this new world, all the new things going in for them, that a little cold (virus) hardly slows them down. it could be your baby is behind because she doesn't feel well all the time, and THAT is holding her back. Maybe not, but in either case I would push for them to figure it out. Chalking it all down to a virus is a lazy, sorry excuse. My point is, YOU DO know your child more than anyone.
Avatar f tn How much time we need to continue this medication? Any known side effects of Levipil for infants?
Avatar m tn I am interested in the prognosis of other infants or young children that have survived an aneurysm through surgery. Any history or information you could share would be appreciated. Avatar m tn I have had a round of Avelox a few weeks ago and recently Omnicef 600mg/day for 10 days and still have discharge. Question, wouldn't these antibiotics be affective against NGU, Chlamydia or Gonnorrhea? Thanks for the help.
Avatar m tn However it is not advisable to use too much of steroid creams as it has plenty of side effects like skin atrophy, skin thinning, telangiectasia, steroid induced rosacea or redness. Use it only as per the prescription and have regular follow ups with your child’s doctor. Also the best treatment of eczema is use of moisturizers which should be applied in a thin layer on the eczematous patch.
Avatar m tn Dear Rjthkids, Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a virus that can cause severe pulmonary infections in infants. The effects of this, especially in the still developing lungs after birth, can take a long time from which to recover. However, you have a special circumstance that complicates things: you live at significant altitude. The relative lack of oxygen at that altitude can lead to elevated blood pressure across the lungs, which is called pulmonary hypertension.
Avatar n tn When she developed this acrid mouth stench I took her in figuring a sinus infection. Well she had a barely red throat and the PA decided to check for strep which was positive. Never having dealt with strep I assumed the smell was from the bacteria of strep. The Amoxicillan they gave her did not work so we went back for Omnicef and after 2 doses of meds the smell was gone. Two weeks after meds the smell came back... back to the Dr. no strep... no answers....
1346797 tn?1290651918 I went back to the doc today and prescribed me Omnicef antibiotics and Auroguard for the pain in my ear. Well the Auroguard seemed to help at first, but over the hours the pain has persistently gotten worse and the drops aren't working as well. My arm is still trying to go numb, it's painful! Any ideas?
Avatar f tn Teratogenic effects were not observed in animal studies. Diphenhydramine crosses the human placenta. One retrospective study showed an increased risk of cleft palate formation following maternal use of diphenhydramine during the 1st trimester of pregnancy; however, later studies have not confirmed this finding. Signs of toxicity and symptoms of withdrawal have been reported in infants following high doses or chronic maternal use close to term.
Avatar f tn Hi all, wondering if you have come across information indicating that flagyl can treat babesia at the same time it's treating Lyme. I understand it's also a antiparasitic, so not sure if that counts. If anyone knows or has heard their LLMD mention this please let me know. I just took my first dose of Flagyl, keeping my fingers crossed that I see some fantastic results!

Avatar n tn Swollen glands are non-specific. A swollen gland in your groin could be due to STD but it could also reflect skin infection in your leg on that side, athletes’, foot (really) or any number of other sources of inflammation. A single swollen gland as you describe is in no way suggestive of HIV. 4. No 5. No. but you should get it sorted out as suggested.
Avatar f tn I got it, I had no side effects of anything it was quick and painless aside from my arm being a bit tender. But I'd rather be safe than sorry.
Avatar f tn Hello there and thanks for taking the time to read my question, I am a female age 33 years old and up until this year my bloodwork has always been perfectly normal. In November my Gynecologist told me that my Vitamin D levels were low and prescribed Vitamin D for me to take for 10 days. I did that like I was supposed to and haven't been to the doctor until this month. But to recap here is the problems I have been noticing. In March, I noticed that my feet and hands were itching.
