Hello my 12 year old was taking omnicef for a ear infection and 10 days into it she got hives all over her body and they come and go and really ichy do you think it's from the Omnicef?
I have taken 10 days of Omnicef and most recently(this week) i just finished 250mg Zpack but I still have the discharge. Back in November I notice the gland behind my right ear was swollen. For the past week, my neck is tight under my ears and jaw and under my armpits. Today I noticed the gland in my right groin is rock hard and the size of a large pea. I cannot feel the left groin gland. It does not hurt to touch but it makes it uncomfortable to sit and have some minor testicular pain.

I have posted on the STD forum, as that was my originial concern. I have now come to post here, as it looks like that is not what I have going on. 2 weeks ago, I was diagnosed with Impetigo and Folliculitis, most likely caused by the same bacteria living on my body. The doctor diagnosed the Impetigo by looking at it, and he prescribed me Doxycycline and Muporocin (SP?) After a few days, the Impetigo began to clear up. It was in the left corner of my lip.
I was really scared of the side effects of the meds, and I waited to start taking them simply out of fear. Partly that's because Lyme etc. causes anxiety, so on top of being sick, I was anxious also because of the sickness, and all of that makes thinking clearly really hard.

By this time, the symptoms would come back and I would start to worry about it so I got some antibiotics from my GP and took Azithromycin for 5 days, then took Levofloxacin but stopped half way through due to side effects, then took Omnicef for 10 days, and in between this, also had 3 Rocephin shots. The last of antibiotic I finished was the Omnicef in the beginning of June.
So I've been on depo for 9.months now and got my renewal shot and antibiotics for 10 days on the same day, how long should I wait before having unprotected sex? How will they effect eachother????
Yes, I was on that combination and so was someone else I know.
I am very sensitive to meds, and something about this combo didn't sit well with me, but my friend was just fine and had no problems.
I had only one side effect, which was that I started to retain water and got 'sloshy' ankles and felt slightly stupid due to fluid build up in my brain. It was very slow and so I didn't realize it was happening, but when I saw my LLMD, he took me off the meds.
4 months later, still fighting this awful infection (that spread into lymph passages, ear and eye on that side), my white blood cell count is normal. My doctor seems to interpret this as being a sign that the infection is not as bad as it feels, even though I have almost constant fever, still don't feel well, and have deep aching pain in jaw especially at night, when the infection seems to intensify.
Hi all, wondering if you have come across information indicating that flagyl can treat babesia at the same time it's treating Lyme. I understand it's also a antiparasitic, so not sure if that counts. If anyone knows or has heard their LLMD mention this please let me know. I just took my first dose of Flagyl, keeping my fingers crossed that I see some fantastic results!
Then to add insult to injury when I took her for her 4 month check(one week later) up they discovered she had an ear infection and was wheezing a bit when she breathed. So now she is back on the antibiotic omnicef AND breathing treatments(which don't seem to be working in my opinion) and still as stuffy in the nose as can been. This has been just a nightmare to me as I just want her to be healthy.

A constant gnawing or burning between my breastbone and navel in addition to erratic BM’s and gas, bloating, and just an overall lousy feeling within the digestive system. Now lately, I have burning in my throat almost continuously with morning after waking the worst. My diet is very good. I am 5’10” and 152 Lbs. Never been overweight and never ate a high fat diet.
My sodium level was low and my white blood count and granulocytes were very high and my lymphocytes were low. The Dr. put me on Omnicef for 10 days. I went back to the doctor a few days ago, and everything else turned out normal except now I had high Calcium and High Total Blood Protein. My Total Protein was 10.6. I am worried about the possibility of Cancer or something serious.
I was reading about Avelox and it mentioned serious heart rhythm side effects - a rare heart called prolongation of QT interval. I am scared to death to take this. I did disclose to the doctor that I suffer from SVT but she didn't mention side effects or warnings. My question is.....has anyone had any reactions to this antibiotic? Are there any "heart friendly" antibiotics out there that I could ask to substitute?
I have so been where you are at. My baby who is now six, has gone through the exact same thing. We have had three sinus surgeries and looks like we are headed to another one. However, have they tested for CF? This is a symptom of CF, luckily we don't have CF. We have been to see a geneticist and we don't have the gene.
I went to see ENT at this point who Prescribed omnicef and a nasal spray. This does not seem to work as I still have foul smelling discharge from my nose and post nasal drip. My teeth on the left hand side of the mouth still hurt (but they do not seem to be the source of infection) and still have headaches.
I was wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation and if there are additional things I could be doing.
I am 55 yrs old female and went for a physical and was told i had high blood presure, that day it was 144/92. I had a blood test and it showed high cholesteral 257. Doctor put me on 10 MG Lisinopril. I took the tab for 5 days on the fifth day my heart was pounding so hard in my chest and i felt like someone was sitting on my chest. This happened a few more time over the next week and it would go away after a few min.
22 days on sovaldi-olysio-no side effects,not even a headache.And to this life long non responder who has done and failed with everything that has been on the market,this combo is working.Cant believe I am getting better and not suffering like I did with all the previous poison.Its like Dr. Bones McCoy from Star Trek brought this stuff back from the future.
