the pain is anywhere from right below my rib cage to the shoulder blade on my left side back!! Im only 17 and i had went to the dr and i had UTI took all my meds but im still having the problem..I sleep only on my left side so i thought it could be sleeping on it wrong..or just the anxiety that i suffer from..or maybe nerves considering i have been under alot of stress..
I just want answers so i can ease my mindd.
Just to clarify it was the generic version of Prilosec.
After a month of omeprazole I was no better and had a stool test for H.Pylori which came up negative. Since then I've been suffering in silence trying to figure out if I can solve the problem myself by changing my diet or taking over the counter medication but have had no luck.
The problem now seems to be more associated with my abdomen.
Post flare up the residual (slightly reduced pain) lingers. The back pain and tightness has been off and on constant for the past year. My GI has done elimination diets, ruled out CIBO, and ruled out ulcer. Hypothesis is GERD but I don’t believe this is the right diagnosis. I don’t have pain or burning in my throat or esophagus. I’m a 30 year old female 122lbs and eat rather healthy and not overly fatty foods.
s patients usually have low or no acid which makes me concerned about taking this. And I read about ensuring you space out when you take omeprazole. I also have low ferritin and was taking iron, which I saw online is contradicted.
Does anyone have experience with taking this?
The last time I had this problem I got some Omeprazole off my doctor. I finished those and the pains came back last week so I got some more on Tuesday.
Problem is that not it's a lot worse. I haven't ate or slept in 4 nights and I'm now starting to get constipated. Some thing I've never been before! I haven't been to school or the gum since last week because the pain is too debilitating!
I'm 29 years old, with heart disease, a fib, and gerd.
For years I've dealt with this issue, sometimes often, sometimes months apart. Last night I was awoken in severe pain around 3am. The pain is so intense it radiates into my back, up my throat into my jaw and head. It's excruciating pain only slightly helped by drinking ice cold water. I'll continuously keep burping, with an urge to throw up, an intense pressure that my stomach is pushing things up.
About a week later my mom took me back because i still had bad pain. Then they said i had IBS and an enlarged liver. So i went to a GI doctor, they took blood and did several test such as MRI a hydro scan, and they did a scope in my mouth. Everything came back good. It seems to be getting worse. I am always tired, in pain,have diariea i have nausa and get head achs alot. Its worse after i eat or when i lay down. I have even hard pain in my back around my kidneys for almost 3 months now.
Following a valve replacement and triple bypass I was discharged from Hospital with a number of drugs and a new one being Omeprazole. I did not know why it was prescribed but after a number of months taking it I decided after discussion with my Doctor to stop taking it. A few months later through the night I got this terrible chest pain on a scale of 1-10 I guess it was 7-8.
I'm 22 and a third year uni student and suffering fro a stomach issue.it began in June 2014 after having too much alcohol. I was admitted to hospital because I was throwing up cooked blood due to acid. As time went by I gradually became worse after a night out in the end I couldn't consume more than 2 units or alcohol without excessive belching, nausea and sickness. After tests for helicobacter which were inconclusive I decided to stop drinking.
is omeprazole a nercotic pain killer? i know some medications that may b addicting so i thought i would double check..also i had seen that u can take in an i.v is this true and if so how?
t correct the underlying problem, but it can alleviate a good deal of the pain associated with ulcers by reducing the amount of stomach acid (the actual substance causing the pain). Omeprazole and other PPIs can and do give ulcer patients a better quality of life while they heal.

Actually this is my story, now for me it has reached to my chest, I have shooting pain in my mid back while sleeping, get up and gasp for breath while having to curve my mid back upward to make my diaphragm get down and make room for deep inhale and exhale.
I know what is my problem but unfortunately I have not been able to find suitable doctor who can understand and believe that I am not creating stories about my pain, so they just send me for physiotherapy.
About 4weeks ago i woke up in the early hours of the morning with pain in my chest and upper back and vomited quite alot i went to work and got taken in to A&E by abulance because i was in so much pain and counld not stop being sick, they took blood test to make sure it was nothing life threating and gave me some morphine and sent me home the same night once pain killers had worn off i had to go back to A&E and the repeated the same as before.
recently ive been having more frequent heart flutters and skips with the sensation of passing out !! I have acid reflux bad I take omeprazole 40 mg I ran out of my meds and started taking over the counter omeprazole I had bad skips and sweats that caused me to go to the ER they did a stress on my heart said it was fine could there be a problem going on in my esophegous causing these heart symptoms? Help desperate for peace of mind!

since stopping Lexapro after 5 years and titrting down slowly..I have developed a chronic back/rib pain..CT scans show nothing, physio can't help can you please advise if back pain like this is a symptom of withdrawal and how long I have to suffer..panadeine forte does not help pain..
Was given endoscopy and prescribed omeprazole (40mg) until next endoscopy in one year. Was told the pain should go away in about a month. It's been about 2 months and the pain is still just as bad. Could I not have a hernia or ulcer and could this have been overlooked somehow in the endoscopy?
Now due to the pregnancy, it seemed to worsen as I experience painful heartburns. My doctor recommends I take omeprazole along with antacids. I've been taking antacids because I know they don't bare side effects on pregnancy. I am not sure though with omeprazole. I'm scared. I am afraid it might harm the baby. Anyone here experienced the same?
My 4 year old son has been prescribed 20mg omeprazole for unknown stomach pain. I heard that PPIs such as this can increase the risk of pneumonia and he has a horrible chest cold. cough right now, should I discontinue taking this medication until this passes? Are the chances of it turning into pneumonia greater if he is on omeprazole? Or is this risk factor only for prolong use?
