1655526 tn?1330655629 So im not crazy after all.. I have told doctors and other people that fish and omega 3 bother my arrthymia. Noone believed me but I know what happens and it isnt pretty. 518994 tn?1212242047 I read where Omega 3 was good for your dog. Is it a different Omega 3 or is it the same that humans take?
Avatar f tn I take one to fight babybrain. Omegas are stripped from myelin shealths during pregnancy and since they act as lubricant in the conduction of, essentially thoughts, our thought process is slowed. I didn't ask my doc about it yet but it does clear up fog in my brain.
Avatar f tn you know, I haven't been taking the Omega 3 since I got pregnant - they make me nauseous. I just take my prenatals daily. I try to eat healthy(doesn't always happen) but i do try. I didnt take any Omega 3 with my other kids and their fine, so oh well.
Avatar f tn I take my prenatal pill one times a day. And It has everything I need But No omega 3 an I heard to take it 2nd or 3rd trimester. Just don't remember what was said.
Avatar m tn I took an Omega-3 supplement for the first time before going to bed last night, and when I woke up one eye was very swollen and puffy. The only allergies I have had are seasonal. Could I be allergic to the Omega-3 supplement?
Avatar n tn There has been a lot on the tv and in papers about omega 3 fish oils which are supposed to help with concentration etc. You can get omega 3 in eggs and fish but you can also by capsules. You don't say how long you have been off the coffee, it may take a while for your body to adjust. Also psychologically you associate coffee with keeping you alert so that needs to change also.
Avatar n tn I am not sure of your question. Are you asking where omega 3 and omega 6 foods come from? Omegas 3 / 6 are polyunsaturated oils that help lower cholesterol and help prevent blood platelets from clotting blood vessel walls. The best source is fish especially mackerel, tuna, salmon, and lake trout. Fish should be eaten 2-3 times a week. Omega 3 are found in whole nuts, soy nuts / oil, and canola oil. Recommend 1-2 teaspoons of nuts daily. Hope this answered your question.
Avatar m tn And I feel like I have forgotten everything I spent the past 3-4 years paying to learn ! I was an honours student in undergrad and never had memory problems before. I am also having huge problems concentrating on what people are saying to me. It's like I am not listening no matter how hard I try to listen my brain wanders off into zombie land. And I am only 29. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to regain one's memory and concentration ?
Avatar n tn My husband has severe dry eyes, and has started taking omega 3 and flax seed oil. It is working very well, but his dose (after gradual increase to a point of benefit) is more than recommended. Can he overdose on 3 times the normal dose of purified omega 3 fish oil..the brand he takes is Health from the Sea PFO pure fish oil liquid. He takes twice the dose of the flax seed oil (same brand name).
Avatar f tn You dad should probably have been prescribed a baby aspirin a day and 1000 mg a day of omega-3 fish oils at a minimum, plus a daily quality vitamin tablet. He needed evaluation at a stroke center rather than an ordinary hospital, and a 3 T (Tesla) MRI. Before fooling around with aspirin he needs a clotting time test (PTT). This problem could be caused by a bleed or a clot, but it is more likely to have been a clot.
Avatar m tn Higher concentrations of EPA and DHA, the active components in omega-3s, can also be found in LOVAZA — the first and only prescription omega-3 medication. It is important to know that some types of fish may contain mercury and other pollutants from the environment. Therefore, the American Heart Association (AHA) cautions that some people should limit the amount of certain types of fish they eat.
Avatar m tn t just one substance, Omega three are fatty acids just like Omega 6 fatty acids found in oils and meat etc. Omega 3 are EPA, DHA, and ALA . Some experts have said that the balance between Omega 6 fatty acids and Omega 3 is key, but just as many say this is nonsense. Omega 3 do have benefits, mainly reducing inflammation in the body, such as in the arteries or joints. It can also reduce your clotting factor if taken in too high doses, causing excessive bleeding.
317787 tn?1473358451 Hi there! I just found this group and was wondering if anyone had tried Omega 3 supplements. I am trying them now for stiffness in joints, body. I've also read it can help with brain fog or fuzzy thinking.
662374 tn?1224986757 I think it depends on a few things, your age for one. Are you on other meds besides those given for BP? I find my memory isn't as good, and my pdoc said it's rare but can happen. I try to take Omega 3's, that's supposed to help with brain function, and if your diet isn't optimal. You might want to give it a shot!
Avatar n tn It sounds more like concentration than memory. Also try taking omega 3 capsules as these are supposed to aid concentration. I certainly notice a difference now that I take them daily. Look at your diet, are you having too much caffeine, are you eating healthy foods? All these things can make a difference.
403156 tn?1290150018 ALWAYS take the prescription meds. Omega 3 or 6 is awsome for brain boosting and great for the heart too. Been taking it for years. I know it does not control bipolar because I suffered horrible symptoms before my diagnosis when I was taking Omega 3 already. Just got my diagnosis and added in the bipolar meds!
Avatar m tn Or would forming a habit of drinking green tea, eating fish that is high in omega-3 and eating plenty of leafy greens as well as exercising on a daily basis be a more effective approach, or safer? I currently follow Canada’s food guide and consume the proper amount of each food group, limiting my intake of meats and instead substituting them with protein rich cereal, peanut butter, and hummus.
Avatar f tn A half-cup of cottage cheese, 1 cup of yogurt or 1 ounce of hard cheese provide between 10 and 15 ounces of protein, approximately one third of your daily protein requirement. Omega-3 fatty acids. The nutrient is necessary for learning, concentration and memory, it’s essential to provide your brain with an adequate supply.
