Early this year over new year I was submitted to hospital for emergency treatment on a corneal ulcer and was kept in hospital for three days and given intensive treatment of ofloxacin eye drops every hour, then released from hospital and continued to be on ofloxacin eye drops every 2 hours and steroid drops every 2 hours with frequent visits to the hospitals eye clinic to monitor my progress.
However, the increasing reports of drug resistance seen in chlamydia to ofloxacin indicate that treatment with this antibiotic may not result in cure of chlamydial infection.
The appropriate dose of ofloxacin for treatment of chlamydial infection is 300 mg twice daily for 7 days. But, treatment for infections of the prostate will need to be continued longer in view of the poor penetrability of antibiotics into the prostate.
5 yrs started complaining of stomach pain and diarrhea four days back when the doctor prescribed ofloxacin and metronidazole suspension which had some effect in the first two days but worsened later.
Subsequently we got his stool examined which tested positive with RBCs, mucous, pus cells and tiny specs of blood. The docter then gave ofloxacin and ornidazole suspension.
You did not get syphilis. Onoflox is a quinolone antibiotic, relate to ofloxacin, ciprofloxacin an other members of the fluoroquinolone class of antibiotics. it has no activity against syphilis an certainly would neither prevent syphilis not in any way change the reliability of test results.
Likewise, taking amoxicillin more than a month (51 days the first time) after your exposure would not change your syphilis test result.
Only those colonies sensitive to methicillin will be killed by Ofloxacin and Naficillin. I would suggest an antibiotic sensitivity test for the colony of staph to see which antibiotic is strongest against them. Vancomycin, gentamycin, rifampicin are some antibiotics used.

I consulted a doctor who suggested that I should delay my STD test as my azithromycin(500mg twice daily) followed by ofloxacin course( 200 mg daily) will impact my test results.
I'm not sure if I can trust him.
magnesium citrate oral solution), brakke (ofloxacin and ornidazole) tablets , hifenac spas(aceclofenac and drotaverine hydrochloride tablets) taking which i suffered constipation severely then i guessed may be the side effects of above drugs. i took them day after day. now everything seems fine except im getting urge to urinate every hour or less frequently. again the urine tests results are that pus cells are at 4-6 and ep cells at 3-5 acidic with traces of albumin.
I'm a 40 year-old American living in Thailand. A few months ago I had unprotected sex with a female coworker. About 10-12 days later I noticed a burning sensation in the tip of my penis (it felt similar to when soap gets in the urethra). The burning intensified over the next few days. It does not hurt when I urinate and no need to urinate more than normal. There is no discharge - just a slight whitish mucous visible only if I squeeze the tip. Co-worker has no symptoms.
i am sorry that any of us who is suffering from this drugs effects i hope there is something that can be done an reverse what this has done to us...if anyone has had simaler side effects as me plz let me know i am a nervous wreck....

I sent in a semen sample and it came back with the enterococcus faecalis infection so I am on amoxycillin. Thing is i have had a course of Ofloxacin, Amoxycillin (low dose) and another antibiotic.
My current Amoxycillin is 3 tablets per day, 500mg each tablet, so 1500 per day for one month, 4 weeks. I am now onto week two and still have the pain dispite the medication.
Just to clarify, 2 g azithromycin isn't quite "protocol" for gonorrhea treatment at least not in the US. It is sometimes used for gonorrhea, but never as the drug of choice. It is somewhat less effective than the recommended regimens, like cefixime or ceftriaxone. However, it does have the advantage of also being active against chlamydia.
Oh and i have looked up plenty of things about doxy and there is a long list of side effects for this antibiotic. if you are taking it then you should have got a sheet of paper with your prescription that told you what the side effects are.
