On 3/21/07 she had stomach flu,5/24/07 she woke up with a bloody looking eye it's ALWAYS on the same eye (right)on the inner part of the sclera & it never spreads to the other eye,she always says it hurts & it swells up a little. Her pediatrician thought it was conjuvitis & rx Ofloxacin .3% it cleared up in 3 days.
Over this time I have taken azithromizing one dose, metronidizole one dose, nitrofuaretoin low dose for 5 days, oxytetracycline 7 days and have just been given ofloxacin 7 days and aciclover 5 days at same time to cover hsv a uti and prostatis.
Any comments on my treatment as I feel like the doctors could just be throwing antibiotics at me?
Would could it be? Yeast? Mycoplasma? Uti? Prostatis? Herpes?
Could I be having a first hsv outbreak about 10 years after I may have unknowingly caught it?
For my inital treatment, while waiting for my first blood testresults, i was prescribed with Azithomycin (1mg single dose), Doxycline (7 days), Ofloxacin (7 days) and Rocephine. When the blood results came back 2 weeks later, it confirmed i had chamydia. Thereafter, my doctor prescribed for me another week of doxycline and 2 months of ofloxacin.
During a follow up visit, 3 weeks ago, i did a blood test and the results was equivocal or uncommital.
Upon reading through the forums related to STDs, found out that some folks were prescribed with ofloxacin. Without consulting a doctor, I am self medicating now after googling what's ofloxacin is for. 3 days ago I took 2 400mg and subsequently 200mg every 12 hours. So far, the irritation when I'm urinating and the tingling has subsided significantly. My question is, shall I still continue taking the ofloxacin until the 7th or 10th day from the day I started taking it?
I am currently taking ofloxacin (local meds) 400 mg 3x a day for 5 days for my uti. Will it also cure any possible std(gonorrhea/chlamydia) if i have one?

Then I got a Urinary Tract Infection (Cystitis) in the 7th week of potential exposure (after 45 days). But with a dose of Satrogil-O (Satranidazole and Ofloxacin), the same got cured and the infection was clear in the urine test that followed. The CBC done was absolutely normal.
s worth of Ofloxacin oral to help fight what was perceived to be chronic prostatitis. Part of me thinks that taking so much of that antibiotic, perhaps unnecessarily, has led to a persistent rash on my forehead. The rash looks a bit like acne - small, red bumps, with slight blackheads - but looks scaly, dry, and really just like a number of small, spread out red bumps.
5 yrs started complaining of stomach pain and diarrhea four days back when the doctor prescribed ofloxacin and metronidazole suspension which had some effect in the first two days but worsened later.
Subsequently we got his stool examined which tested positive with RBCs, mucous, pus cells and tiny specs of blood. The docter then gave ofloxacin and ornidazole suspension.
He also said my symptoms are consistent with a urethitis ranging from gonorrhea to NGU to non sexual bacteria. He prescribed a single 400mg dose of Suprax and two 500mg doses of Cipro. He then suggested a one week course of Doxycycline Hyclate or Avon(sp?). He told me the Suprax/Cipro would treat potential gonorrhea and Doxycycline would cover NGU and other non sexual bacteria. I have a weeks supply of Cipro, however, he told me it wasn't necessary
I took the Suprax and Cipro last night.
ofloxacin, ciprofloxacin, monofloxacin, fusicid acid, chlortetracycline... Also anti-inflamatory drugs like Tobradex and FML which help reduce inflamation but not treat the cause.
What worries me now is that inflamation has reached near the cornea, as an incomplete bluish ring. May this threaten the cornea? My vision is not normal and i have had watery eye for about half a year now.
What treatment do you think will be best for this condition? Ciclosporine after a steroid, another antibiotic?
I sent in a semen sample and it came back with the enterococcus faecalis infection so I am on amoxycillin. Thing is i have had a course of Ofloxacin, Amoxycillin (low dose) and another antibiotic.
My current Amoxycillin is 3 tablets per day, 500mg each tablet, so 1500 per day for one month, 4 weeks. I am now onto week two and still have the pain dispite the medication.

I'm a 40 year-old American living in Thailand. A few months ago I had unprotected sex with a female coworker. About 10-12 days later I noticed a burning sensation in the tip of my penis (it felt similar to when soap gets in the urethra). The burning intensified over the next few days. It does not hurt when I urinate and no need to urinate more than normal. There is no discharge - just a slight whitish mucous visible only if I squeeze the tip. Co-worker has no symptoms.

after the course the infection was still there, and i went to another doctor, who gave me a shot of ceftriaxone 1g iv, azithomycin 1g which i took in one dose, and ofloxacin, 300mg for 10 days, after we found out that i had clap. the thick yellow discharge was replaced with a cloudy, sometimes clear discharge.

Early this year over new year I was submitted to hospital for emergency treatment on a corneal ulcer and was kept in hospital for three days and given intensive treatment of ofloxacin eye drops every hour, then released from hospital and continued to be on ofloxacin eye drops every 2 hours and steroid drops every 2 hours with frequent visits to the hospitals eye clinic to monitor my progress.
The reactivity of 13 quinolones (levofloxacin, ofloxacin, pefloxacin, enoxacin, moxifloxacin, gatifloxacin, trovafloxacin, sparfloxacin, lomefloxacin, ciprofloxacin, clinafloxacin, norfloxacin, and nalidixic acid) was tested in 5 commercial opiate screening assays from September 1998 to March 1999. In 6 healthy volunteers, we confirmed the cross-reactivity of levofloxacin or ofloxacin with these opiate screening assays.
