Many people have experienced pains and light bleeding while having intercourse and using nuvaring. It seems to affect everyone differently, but it's very likely the nuvaring is the source of your problems. I would suggest trying a different form of birth control, as this one is obviously not for you.

I've had the nuvaring for a few months now. Ever since I started using it I've had one UTI, and a kidney infection that was so severe I was hospitalized with a fever of 104. I don't remove my nuvaring to have a period (my doctor said it was completely fine to take out the old one and insert a new one to prevent period.) I take it out usually before sex and wash my hands and rinse the ring off before re-inserting it.

Hi Ladies... I have been on the NuvaRing for a long time. While I had the NuvaRing in I started spotting & then the spotting turned into a regular period. I know your period isn't supposed to come on until you take the NuvaRing out, but I also know you can experience some bleeding while on birth control. i used to have nuva ring, and i had noticed i started having UTI symptoms, it burned when i peed, my abdomen hurt really bad. the doctors kept giving me antibiotics telling me that it was a UTI and that it wouldnt last. After having a "UTI" once a month for a year. I went to see my gynecologist and she advised me to remove Nuva ring. I did so and since then i feel really good. ive been off it for a little over 3 months and i will never go back to it.

I’m not sure if this is another yeast infection, or some sort of reaction I have having to my birth control, the nuvaring. I am also experiencing painful urination, feels like a uti but after drinking a lot of water, the pain subsides. I have been to the doctor multiple times and they run tests for all STDs as well as utis and vaginal problems, all the tests come back negative.

I am feeling nauseous, having leg cramps, mood swings, weird cravings (like mnm dipped in cheese), my period was a day late and it keeps starting and stopping . I went to the er today and they sent me home saying I have a uti. I know that a uti is not causing all my symptoms. I know im not pregnant and im on nuavring. I dont know whats wrong with me. I need help. I cant go see my doctor because of work. I work Monday thur Saturday from 9-7.

I went back and tested NEGATIVE for a UTI although the over the counter UTI test I took came back positive... My doctor saw in my file that I had mentioned to my gyno about a year ago that the inside of my vagina burns after sex. Now keep in mind that the burning after sex only started after I used the NuvaRIng for birth control.. I feel like that might have done something to me because I was with my partner long before I used the nuvaring and everything was fine.

I got pregnant this time around on nuvaring but I had a UTI and bronchitis and was on a cramp load of medication for a month prior. You're only supposed to take it out maximum 3 hours a day and when you take it out for the week you are supposed to put it back in at the same time you took it out.

Then on the 14th I put my bc back in (I use nuvaring) and on the 15th had sex again. On the 29th the 3rd 4th and 5th I had light pink/brown bleeding. I also puked on the 3rd and 5th and I've had sore boobs. I've been peeing like crazy and thought maybe I have a uti. It also felt like I was getting pinched in my vag. I also have discharge but I was checked for bv and it came back neg.i took out my bc yesterday but the app I use said my period isn't due until the 12th.

i started Nuvaring 3 weeks ago yesterday when i was supposed to ive had sex w/o protection quite a few times since. I was supposed to start my period yesterday Im NEVER late early if anything I took a pregnancy test last night and it came back negative. Is it possible that I am pregnant and that its just not showing up positive yet?

I am sorry to hear about your issues with nuvaring. I had started the nuvaring for perimenopause issues my gyn said would help. No docs Ive talked to since have heard of this being used for anything other than birth control my but tubs have been tied for years.After having nuvaring in for almost three weeks i started to bleed lite not spotting and its dark and not a pleasant smell at all never have had an Oder like that in 46 years and i cant stand it.

it could be a vaginal infection or a uti, sometimes these can cause painful sex. but it could very well also be because your pregnant and just sensitive..just remember every pregnancy is so different and you'll realize that more and more!! good luck!

I started using the NuvaRing on April 15th and before I used the IUD. I took out the NuvaRing on May 6th but did not have my period. So I put it back in 7 days later. On the 7th day I noticed around my nipples were sore and still to this day they are still sore. So is there a chance I could be pregnant or could his be due to the NuvaRing?

My periods have been very heavy with the past one lasting two weeks with large tissue discharge. It just ended Sunday after beginning one week before removing Nuvaring and only ending once Nuvaring was reinserted.
