About a year ago, I switched to Nuvaring from the pill. When I started dating my boyfriend, whom I am still dating today, I was on the pill. I switched to the Nuvaring because I thought that it was a more reliable option for me because I would always forget to take the pill. About 5 months after starting to use Nuvaring, things began to change between us. We still love each other very much but he gets a weird feeling like he isn't supposed to be with me.
I am 20 years old and have been on the pill for two years (inconsistently as i switched to the NuvaRing for a few months). I am currently on day 18/19th day of my cycle (according to my period tracker that I downloaded today - which includes the time you're on your period, which for me was 7 days). I try to take the pill around 5:00pm everyday but sometimes I forget and take it later in the day. i have 10 pills left in my birth control pack before i'm supposed to start my next period.
I was on the NuvaRing for 3 months straight and used it to skip my cycle. After the 3rd or 4th week I would take it out & put in a new ring. While doing this I still bled either light or really heavy. I stopped using the NuvaRing the week before Thanksgiving. My husband & I started trying to make a baby soon after taking the ring out. I have not had a cycle since i’ve taken the NuvaRing out and it’s going on a month now.
Toward the end of July I took out my Nuvaring and discontinued my use of it because of all the side affects that I have recently become aware of. I am not on any other type of BC at the moment but for the last week or more my nipples have been EXTREMELY sore..so sore that a touch makes me cringe and back away immediately. After removing the Nuvaring, I got my period from July 29th-Aug 1 so I am due to get it again in about a week.
s more like a watered down blood . is this normal ? what are the chances if me getting pregnant ? should I go get a plan b pill ?
Just keep taking the pill. You may or may not have some irregular bleeding this cycle. Don't worry about it.
Just take one pill a day, and when you get to the inactive pills (or the last week), you should get some sort of menstrual type bleeding during that week.
I was taking Ortho Tri Cyclen. that helped me.. then they switched me to the patch. I did not like that one at all. then they put me on the Nuvaring. I didn't like that one either because sometimes it would fall out or not fall out it would move and I could feel it and I have to go to the bathroom and fix it. so I would say Ortho Tri Cyclen. but everybody has their own opinions.
It did make me hormonal. Personally, I like nuvaring. Its a small flexible ring, you or your doctor insert it sort of like a tampon (but with your fingers) and it stays in place 3 weeks. It lessened my acne, I never gained weight, I had no hormonal issues with it. I hate pills, I can't remember to take them and they always made me gain weight. But the nuva ring is expensive if you don't have insurance! It's over 100 $ a month.
And i read about treatments and diferent kind of birth control. And it has complications with the condition. Wich pill is the best. Wich treatment is the best.
This vaginal ring is supposed to "work" properly for 3 weeks in a row.
Nothing. Lol as crazy as it sounds but my hubby and I know how to take care of ourselves. When I was younger I used to take the pill but it didn't really work for me since I'm very very very forgetful. I never got pregnant or anything like that but I'm not the most fertile person either so yeah. And with the depo shot I bled the whole three months of it! It was horrible! And that's when I started gaining weight unfortunately.
I loved the nuvaring! But I have visual migraines that cause me to. E on a low estrogen kind of birth control, so it was that, pill, arm implant, or iud. I did the pill for a while, but I'm not responsible enough to take it daily at the same time.
they come and go not lasting more than an hour at a time, Milky white discharge from vagina, BLOATING/SWELLING in the lower stomach from belly button down to hairline, nausea in early morning and late night before i go to sleep, DOUBLE or TRIPLE amounts in trips to the bathroom to pee, Bowl movements are totally ABNORMAL, Back hurts like hell... Feels like lower back needs to be cracked but it wont crack
I started NuvaRing last month. I was on a oral contraceptive for about 2 weeks.
Then Feb 25th I started my period thats when I took my nuvaring out that was my off week and I wasnt supposed to put another one in until March 4th. Well my period stopped march 2nd and on march 3rd my husband and I had intercourse with no condom just not thinking. But then on the 4th I put a new nuvaring and I took it out on March 25th. But then I didnt get a period on March 29th I had a couple of really light brown spots and then nothing else.
t take 2-3 months to start working if you take it as directed, although initial side effects (like spotting or nausea) may take that long to resolve. The pill is effective after 7 days of taking it properly.
OP: The detailed labeling for the one I take (Altavera) says that with one missed pill, if you take it when you remember and then keep your schedule, doesn't require any backup method, but missing more than one does.
Do u guys like the nuva ring(those of u who have tried it)? I've had it before, but only like three months because it was too expensive. (My mom still paid for my bc at that time). I liked it and I am thinking about getting back on it after my baby comes. Its gotta be less expensive than another baby. I can't remember to take the pill(that's how I got pregnant) and the implants and iuds scare me. Do u like it? How much does it cost u?
Am I even protected at all? I have been on the pill for 10 years and after hearing this, I immediately called my gynecologist to discuss other options. She told me that the oral pill would metabolize through the liver much faster on Modafinil and so she put me on the Nuvaring. (I thought that would be metabolized the same way- but I’m no doctor)! I just went to get a new Nuvaring at my pharmacy and the pharmacist told me the same thing, that Modafinil will affect my birth control.
I just decided to get on birth control & my Dr. has put me on Nuvaring. I was using condoms before & just got tired of them. I have now been using Nuvaring for a little over a week now, & am currently not taking any other drugs (just on the ring). Everything has been fine until today... I am now experiencing chest pain. I do not have a family history of any blood clotting issues, but I am concerned because I have read some of the horror stories on-line.
