She is going to call be on Thursday with the news, but she said that if it does show bacteria, she gave me some sample of the MetroGel to start using once I speak with her. She also suggested changing to the NuvaRing. She said that she has seen that patients with this type of recurring problem, the NuvaRing has helped clear it up. How has the MetroGel worked for some of you? Also, how is the NuvaRing working for some of you? Just nervous, worried, and depressed.
I'm on the NuvaRing and when my period is on its way out i get that same creamy brown/tan tinted discharge. While on the nuvaring i notice that i have more of a discharge then I normally would. Also I have a tendancy to get yeast infections now because of it so watchout for that. But al i can say is when you go to the restroom make sure to wipe well, maybe get some of those Summer Eve feminine wipes (they help with odor) Otherwise i'd say Tampons help withthe discharge or use pads.
for the poster- i'm pretty sure the extra discharge is caused by an increase in progesterone from the ring. sounds normal to me. as long as it isn't itchy or have a foul odor I wouldn't worry about it. if you are worried about it, it may be worth a call to your doctor.

I started using nuvaring for the first time on October 16, but I started having foul odor which I detected it could be a form of infection so I removed the ring October 28. Automatically, I started my period October the 31th and I had unprotected sex with my husband the November 3rd while still doing my period. It is 28 days from my last period could I be pregnant?
So I have never had a problem with vagina odor until 3 days ago. I am 24 years old, my boyfriend and I have been together for 6 years, and I have been on the nuvaring for about 3 years now. I have never really had much of a scent down there and when I do, it isn't very strong and it's not a bad smell at all, my boyfriend actually loves my smell. The area itchs and it almost feels like a yeast infection, but there is no odor. I have been on Nuvaring for several years. I know I do not have an STD beause I have been to the OBGYN twice. Does anyone know if this is a yeast infection, or possibly something else. I was just taking antibiotics for a recent oral surgery.

But then it started turning to a yellowish cloudy color and an odor came along with that. Just recently I started bleeding during sex. The discharge is pretty heavy and the smell wont go away. I had a pap smear done in the beginning of january and it was normal. Whats going on?
I use Nuvaring...and my concern was it getting "lost" in there. my doc told me there is no way it can get lost.So i would think a tampon wouldnt be any different. Make sure it isnt in there you should be able to feel it.

All my issues began when I started using NuvaRing for Birth Control which was in May this year. A month later (June) right after my period, I developed a yeast infection or so thats what I thought. I went to the Dr and was prescribed medication she did not do a swab test bc the month that I got on the NuvaRing I had her check for any stds or any other type of infection and all the tests came back negative.
So this past month my fiancé and I haven't been using BC because I lost my nuvaring when we moved. According to my iperiod ( on iPhone) my last day of ovulation was the 14th. So, I always thot u couldn't get pregnant after ovulation. Well, we ddnt use the pull out method on the 16th and two days later, i called my dr office just to be sure. The nurse at my Dr. office said that is "prime fertilization time" so we decided not to take the plan b pill and see what happens.

I recalled starting after having sex with my husband and using the diaphram, which seems to be too big now due to my weight loss (I've lost about 30 pds in 1 year). Well, it started with itching then I inspected my vagina and saw the white discharge and the lips around it were red and swallen.

I'm also having a large amount of discharge, it's milky and thin, very very little odor to it.
From Feburary - April, I was bleeding almost non-stop from my birth control. I was on it for 5 years, and my gyno took me off of it to narrow down the cause, and the bleeding stopped almost immediately afterwards.
I was taken off the pill on April 19th, which was conviently the day I was sapossed to start my next pack, so I just didn't take it and went from there.
I don't have an odorous discharge, actually the discharge has diminished greatly since the onset of the BV (but I never had an odor then either). I know some may say go back to the doc and stop posting. But I haven't posted in awhile b/c I was feeling pretty good...I just need to ease my mind, I don't understand it.
Please, anything would help.
Second, I've had a milky white discharge over the past few days. It is watery and has no odor. I've had similar discharge in the past, but not in this abundance (nearly constant light flow). I began using the NuvaRing about six weeks ago.
1) What is the likelihood i contracted herpes given the time it took for symptoms to appear, the mildness of the possible "outbreak," and number of possible exposures? Should i get tested?
i'm tired of paying someone to tell me what i already kno and not provide an efficient solution. additionally, recently i began using the nuvaring. my discharge has returned even w/ the abstinence... does the nuvaring have any effect on the severity of BV??
other than that i dont really have anymore questions. i'm just looking for advice as to what other options might be available, even on a trial basis, because i dont plan on the abstinence thing much longer.

I've been on the NuvaRing for 3 months now. The first 3 months I didn thave any symptoms or side effects. NuvaRing's site indeicates that vaginal infections are a main side effect from using the ring. Anyway, 3 weeks ago, I noticed I had a bloody discharge. Usually I have a discharge from the ring because I dont get periods anymore. It last 3-5 days max. But for 3 weeks I have had a bloody discharge. No pain or odor. Then I had a yeast infection. I bought Monistat 3 and cleared it up.

I only have the odor the next day after having intercourse and it lasts for about 2 days. After this there is no odor. If we use a condom, there is no odor at all for me either.
I will say it is nice to hear that someone else is experiencing this. I do know for a fact that I do not have any diseases. And yes, any suggestions would be helpful for me also.
the only birth control I can take in the mini pill because the IUD's, shot, patch, everything else, I got pregnant one.
My girlfriend, 25 years old has a very strong vaginal odor, she has gotten tested for STDS and infections and everything came out negative. She does have an IUD and has had it for 3 years. The odor is strongest while intercourse. She does not itch or burn. There are no other side effects associated with the smell.
Go with something milder like the nuvaring or an IUD. I absolutely love my IUD except for the extra cramping and mid cycle spotting. But you don't have to remember to take anything and no side effects except for heavier periods.
I truly do not recomend the shot.
when I urinated the broken piece of condom fell out of my vagina into the toilet. After my pills were gone I was perscribed NuvaRing. During my 1st Nuvaring usage I begin to bleed brown blood a week before my cycle was due. I took the ring out and allowed my period to begin then put a new NuvaRing in 2 days into my cycle. I bleed bright red for 3 days and then it went back to brown.. I have been bleeding for a total of 10 days now.
