I've had the nuvaring for a few months now. Ever since I started using it I've had one UTI, and a kidney infection that was so severe I was hospitalized with a fever of 104. I don't remove my nuvaring to have a period (my doctor said it was completely fine to take out the old one and insert a new one to prevent period.) I take it out usually before sex and wash my hands and rinse the ring off before re-inserting it.
I've had a lot of ongoing health issues which have included nausea, lightheadedness, blood sugar swings, etc. I had a doctor's appointment two weeks ago and she prescribed NuvaRing because I wanted to go on birth control. I felt really good for about a week besides some cramping, then I started getting really nauseous in the middle of the day on the 17th.
Many people have experienced pains and light bleeding while having intercourse and using nuvaring. It seems to affect everyone differently, but it's very likely the nuvaring is the source of your problems. I would suggest trying a different form of birth control, as this one is obviously not for you.
I stopped bleeding as soon as I cleaned up. I had kidney pains for about 10 minutes cooking dinner an hour or so later. Im not on my period although im due for one. We had unprotected sex a couple weeks ago but got paranoid and took plan B. I took out my Nuvaring Wednesday morning and I took a pregnancy test to make sure and it was negative.
So when my boyfriend and I have sex it hurts. At first it hurt just in certian positions, now it hurts all the time. It's a burning/stinging sort of hurt and I was wondering if the NuvaRing caused a rash in my vagina. I've been using the NuvaRing for about 8 months now so I don't know why I'd be having a reaction to it now..
We had sex on Sunday before I was due to put my nuvaring in that day and all was normal. Sunday night, I inserted my nuvaring and starting monday I have had the worst vagina odor ever. I smelled it Monday, washed it and went on my way but it doesn't go away. It is not a fishy smell, it is a foul rotten smell. My boyfriend and I were having sex last night and he smelled it and asked me about it.
Uh, you are supposed to replace every month, the nuvaring is only good for 3 weeks at a time. Unless you are trying to get pregnant or get an infection of some kind I would recommend changing it out and making sure you aren't already pregnant before putting in a new one, hormones in birth control can cause harm to an unborn baby.
I am on the NuvaRing and while it is supposed to be hypoallergenic, I am concerned that it is causing irritation. Has anyone else experienced similar problems? If so, what was it diagnosed as and what was the treatment? I really love my NuvaRing and am praying it is not the cause.
I am also worried the paps and colpos missed something high in the canal and/or my HPV test was a false negative
2. Or could it all be the Nuvaring? Could the Nuvaring cause LSIL to show in the pap (an inflammation I guess)? Can one have LSIL without HPV? Could Nuvaring cause cervical ectropion?
I'm terrified of what may come next!!!

Well a few days ago it felt like I was starting to get a yeast infection (burning, itchy and red) then the next day I felt fine (for about 2 days) then the 3rd day it felt a little icky but not bad (I didnt know if it was irritated since it was hot outside?
i started Nuvaring 3 weeks ago yesterday when i was supposed to ive had sex w/o protection quite a few times since. I was supposed to start my period yesterday Im NEVER late early if anything I took a pregnancy test last night and it came back negative. Is it possible that I am pregnant and that its just not showing up positive yet?
So i have a kidney infection. They gave me eds for 14 days. If this dorsnt work she said i would be put into the hospital. I am totally freaking out and my back is still hurting. I am 26 weeks and 2 days. Any ideas on what i should do to help prevent the hospital?! Is cranberry juice good to dribk and water?!
Yes any type of infection can hurt the baby if not treated u really need to go to ur Ob/gyn and get checked to find out what u have and get treated
I ended up in even more pain Saturday evening and they admitted me and finally realized it was a kidney infection. I spent from Saturday night until Wednesday afternoon. I was on iv antibiotics and iv fluids the whole time. I was discharged with instructions for modified bed rest and had to take macrobid the rest of my pregnancy to avoid it reoccurring. I ended up having my son at 35 weeks.
I have looked at symptoms of kidney infection and the only part that fits is the throbbing back pain. No fever, no nausea or vomiting, chills. I am fatigued, but I haven't been sleeping well because if the throbbing pain. I have been drinking plenty of fluids, cranberry juice and lots of water. I hate to waste the money on another doctor visit if they are just going to give me a muscle relaxer for back pain.
