Nuvaring in too long

Common Questions and Answers about Nuvaring in too long

nuvaring

Avatar f tn Ok, but if I failed to use a back up method should I consider emergency contraception?
Avatar f tn I've had pills and nuvaring. I'm in the same boat as you. I forgot pills. I'm scared the shot will make me gain weight. I'm allergic to latex so can't use the patch. My doctor won't do IUDs for personal reasons which I agree with. My coworker got the implanon and she is allergic to it and itches like crazy and she said it really hurts. I think I'll end up going back on nuvaring. I didn't gain weight.
7600327 tn?1393358885 Hi Ladies... I have been on the NuvaRing for a long time. While I had the NuvaRing in I started spotting & then the spotting turned into a regular period. I know your period isn't supposed to come on until you take the NuvaRing out, but I also know you can experience some bleeding while on birth control. Nevertheless I made a doctor's appointment & found out I was pregnant.
Avatar n tn When I stopped taking it, my weight levelled out and I stopped gaining (and my migraines went away too). After two years off the birth control though, my periods stopped coming, so I went to the doctor who put me on the NuvaRing for three months, "to jump-start your periods," she told me. She also told me I probably had PCOS, but refused to run any tests. I tried a few other doctors and none of them were any help either.
Avatar n tn That's about how long I was on it too. I took mine out around June of last year and conceived in September, so it doesn't take long. That's the bonus of nuvaring, it's supposed to have little to no side effects when you take it out. I ended up miscarrying that conception at about 6 weeks, and haven't had luck yet since then, but at least I know I am indeed ovulating since I got pregnant once!

889551 tn?1416184483 Lexi is nine months old now, and I quit birth control three or four months ago because I tried the NuvaRing and hated it (my cervix was really low when I put it in, and it made it uncomfortable). This month I had spotting at ovulation, and I didn't think anything of it until DH told me that the condom had broke two days before the spotting started. At 8 dpo I started spotting and have been spotting brown and red ever since.
Avatar f tn Hi did anyone reply to you about how they lost the weight that they gained after the Nuvaring. I am in the same boat as you. gaining a pound every single day after stopping this Nuvaring. Please advise me how you lost the weight.
Avatar f tn It makes no difference if you ovulate a few days later, as sperm last 5 days on average in the female body and 7 in perfect conditions. While calenders are helpful, they are by no means exact. It's safer to assume there is no safe time. You need to wait 2 weeks and take a pregnancy test with first morning urine.
Avatar f tn I was prescribed NuvaRing on Sept 20th and put it in same day around 12pm. I just had unprotected sex with ejaculation inside last night on thursday sept 28th at approx. 1am. i had it in for the 7 days and now i'm scared I might become pregnant because I am afraid we did not wait long enough. Does anyone know if I could become pregnant or when the NuvaRing becomes effective? I've read online to wait 7 days and we did but we cut it very close.
1134902 tn?1296066144 No docs Ive talked to since have heard of this being used for anything other than birth control my but tubs have been tied for years. After having nuvaring in for almost three weeks i started to bleed lite not spotting and its dark and not a pleasant smell at all never have had an Oder like that in 46 years and i cant stand it.Also I had very painful cramps only on left side.
Avatar m tn I recently had unprotected sex with my new girlfriend who is on the Nuvaring birth control (however isn't any longer due to this problem) and a couple days later I noticed an intense burning sensation on my penis head and shaft. I started taking Benadryl from the advice from a Pharmacist, suspecting it was an allergic reaction to the Nuvaring. The Benadryl helped slightly but I cannot function on it since it really knocks me out.
1027094 tn?1327429732 Oh and if when you put it back in are you suppose to do it at the same time of day too?? I know you are suppose to put it in on the same day, not sure about the same time? I don't think I've been putting it in at the same time of day. I had a little cramping around the time I SHOULD have been ovulating. Didn't really think anything of it at the time. But when my boyfriend came home from out of town, we fooled around w/o protection and he didn't pull out.
Avatar f tn Hi! I'm 20 years old and I just had my period March 30-April 2. This has been my first period in awhile because I have been using Nuvaring and skipping my periods. I didn't put in my nuvaring on the day I was suppose to. I have had unprotected sex on the 6 day before ovulation and 4 days before ovulation. What are my chances of getting pregnant? I'm not going to put my nuvaring in just in case I am. It is too early to take a test so I come here for some answers.

1580452 tn?1296439703 well the pills anyways same with nuva. Give it a while longer if your body has been doing this for sooo long its in that pattern, its going to take a while to break it, keep the heat pack or pad around during that time of the month. and hang in there!
5121963 tn?1363905257 After 4-5 months I was eventually prescribed the Nuvaring, its in for 4 weeks and then replaced with a new one each month. With much luck, it reduced my cysts to 1 and 1.
Avatar n tn I Would love an answer to this too. had a normal cycle then went on nuvaring, when i stopped verrrry irregular periods, 4 months havent concieved. its so sad.
Avatar f tn Ok so I took a hpt last night and it was negative. I took another one this morning and it had a really light line. So I'm gonna try to get blood work done Monday to confirm if its a yes or no. I hate waiting lol.
392087 tn?1252605359 NuvaRing® is as effective as the Pill when used as directed, but you don’t have to take it every day. You leave NuvaRing® in place for 3 weeks, then remove it for a 1-week ring-free period. You should get your period during this “week off.” (Using NuvaRing® as prescribed, you will continue to be protected from pregnancy during the ring-free week.) Exactly 1 week after you take NuvaRing® out, you insert a new one." From : http://www.nuvaring.com/Consumer/aboutNuvaRing/index_flash.
730826 tn?1317943334 Hi I was just wondering if anyone has gotten pregnant, and/or had a false negative on nuvaring. Or if anyone knows if here is anything in it that would give me a false negative. Thanks!
Avatar n tn ve read that sperm can live inside you for up to 5 days, so should I put in a Nuvaring afterward? Like the day after I take Plan B. How long is Plan B effective for?
Avatar f tn I stopped taking the nuvaring and I want to get pregnant how long after I stopped it will it take.... any body have any answers if so please tell me please.....
Avatar f tn hello, the same thing just happend to me - I thought I would have my period and started with hormonal contraception (I don´t take the pill but the NuvaRing). Now I realized that it wasn´t my period at all and I didn´t got my period since I started taking the NuvaRing (1 week ago). My questio is: how about birth-control?? will I now need to use another contraception-method or does hormonal contraception also work when you start taking it without having your period?
1165655 tn?1268169912 Thank you Lucey! I don't know anyone who has ever been on the nuvaring so you really helped me out a lot!
Avatar f tn My sister has a long history of odd medical problems too - including IBS and PCOS. I don't know if that could mean the same for me (though the GI doc said I don't have IBS). Any suggestions or info would be very welcome, thank you !
