nuvaring for acne

Hi there, I am a 29 year old female - and about 7 months ago I stopped using Nuvaring. I already had a bit of adult acne and some weight gain before I stopped, but after I stopped the acne went a little crazy - on the lower half of my face and my neck. It has also been a bit over 6 months since I've had a period, which is beginning to freak me out.

I have been taking Beyaz and it helps alot for moderate acne plus it has calcium in the pill which is good if your just looking for a temp, birth control and want to become pregnant soon after stopping so you'll have calcium in your body already.

I'm VERY prone to nausea and vomiting from hormonal birth controls, no matter how long I take them. I want to try the ring because no pills have worked for me. Also, I've been getting multiple 5-7 day periods a month and I need something that will regulate me. Another thing is that I'm prone to infection from birth control as well (I had the Mirena IUD for 9 months and got a bacterial and yeast infection from it, as well as severe acne). Can the ring cause infection?

I decided to go off the nuvaring, which I was on only for acne. I felt incredibly better after only a week and after 2 weeks I felt like super woman. I discovered many other issues stemming from nuvaring including shortness of breath and horrible completely out of character mood swings.

I was on nuvaring for four years before I stopped taking it so I could try for another baby and I will be getting it after this baby also.. its so easy and like the other poster said, I didn't gain any weight, acne was gone and definitely wasn't hormonal at all! You put it in for 21 days and then take it out for 7 days then you get a new one and put it in for another 21 days and so on..

but my mom has told me im going on the depo shot, im very upset. i hard it makes you gain over 10 pounds and gives you headahcs and can even make acne worse. im also worried about having a pap smear, do you think i will have to have one for this?

It wont Wrk. All the medicine n the nuvaring has already came out. Its ineffective! !!!

Here's the story. I had a leep procedure (shaving off part of your cervix due to high risk pap) the end of march right after my period ended. 2 weeks later (mid april) I got the go ahead to have sex and start my new Birth Control nuvaring. That night we had unprotected sex in the middle of the night and the next morning I put in my nuvaring for the first time. Since then I've been having crazy hot flashes, I'm more tired, and sometimes feel alittle sick.

My wife is petite and never had children. She is post menopausal and has a serious family history of breast cancer so hormones are OUT. We haven't had sex for 7 years and I'm going nuts. I won't cheat on her and masturbation is unsatisfying. The problem isn't just dryness as lube would solve that. She's always been "snug" for me but now her vagina has shrunk up such that it is impossible for me to penetrate. Her ObGyn is no help.

I know 10 people who have gotten the DepoShot and have gotten pregnant on it. Birth control works differently for different people. I have Mirena (been on it for 6 months) and I absolutely love it (despite the fact that the break through bleeding got annoying), my mood has been a lot better, I don't get a lot of acne breakouts anymore, and I have lost some weight on it. But for others, they had some complaints about it.

Now the lsat three months my periods have been extremely heavy with large clots (usually about the size of a lime) then when it comes it lasts for 5-6 days stops for about 2 days then comes back for 5-6 days. I am also experiencing acne which before was never an issue. I'm extremely emotional and I've gained 9lbs I'm always hungry. I went to the doctor last month who gave me a script for nuvaring which I hate hormonal bc so I haven't started taking it.

I have acne which has never been an issue before I feel like my emotions are going crazy and my period will last about 6 days then stop for two days then come back for like 5-6 more days. I went to the doc last month who didn't really say anything just gave me nuvaring birth control but I hate hormonal both control so I haven't even started it. Now, I don't have insurance so I can't go back til at least next month.

After my daughter was born I was on the nuvaring which I loved! Used that for 2 1/2 years and when we decided to try again I was pregnant within 5 months of stopping use. I will definitely be going back on it. My periods were super light and I didn't have any other symptoms with it.

You started Nuvaring, it can take a few days for your period to start especially when your on yo ur first mornth of Nuvaring. It takes 3 months for your body to regulate hormones. Now if you had unprotected sex within the first week of being on nuvaring (if you hadn't been on another birth control method before) then it's possible to get pregnant. I was on Nuvaring for 3 months and had no issues with it.

I am sorry to hear about your issues with nuvaring. I had started the nuvaring for perimenopause issues my gyn said would help. No docs Ive talked to since have heard of this being used for anything other than birth control my but tubs have been tied for years.After having nuvaring in for almost three weeks i started to bleed lite not spotting and its dark and not a pleasant smell at all never have had an Oder like that in 46 years and i cant stand it.

i was on the depo for like 3 years and then stopped that in october and went to the nuvaring. i had like 2-3 periods on the nuvaring but i was so inconsisent with it i like screwed up my body and decided just to take it completely out and regulate my body aswell as try to get pregnant.

I have been on the Nuvaring for 5 years. Everything has been normal until a couple weeks ago. A few months ago I had a light period for 1 day, it stopped and 24 hours later started again. The next month I had a light 3 day period. This month I am late. I am suposed to put the ring in tonight but I havent started by period yet. I took a home pregnancy test todag and it was negative. Can the Nuvaring stop periods even when I take it out for a week? Also, I only have one ovary.

It just ended Sunday after beginning one week before removing Nuvaring and only ending once Nuvaring was reinserted. It is so irregular that I could bleed any time of the month at any intensity for any period of time. This past one was so bad that I had to sleep with a heating pad nightly. What could this mean?

I was on the Nuvaring for 3 months and I WOULD NOT recommend it, especially if you have a history of depression. The Nuvaring turned me into a psycho, constantly crying for no reason sometimes. I had suicidal thoughts, feelings of worthlessness. I was just insane. I took it out today and said goodbye to all the madness.I don't know if it's just a mind thing, but I feel chipper already. It's convenient but it's not worth the pain.

I had unprotected sex today. I recently started on Nuvaring and was told I needed 7 days for it to become effective. Today is the 7th day. Should I take a Plan B just in case?

i bought a test for the hell of it and it said PREGNANT! i was in complete shock because i had been on the nuvaring for a while! i used at end of JULY, AUGUST, SEPTEMBER and found out i was pregnant in october!!! birth control is never 100 % and i am proof cause i never messed up with my nuvaring the second go around!

I was on the NuvaRing for 3 months straight and used it to skip my cycle. After the 3rd or 4th week I would take it out & put in a new ring. While doing this I still bled either light or really heavy. I stopped using the NuvaRing the week before Thanksgiving. My husband & I started trying to make a baby soon after taking the ring out. I have not had a cycle since i’ve taken the NuvaRing out and it’s going on a month now.

okay so i’ve been on the NuvaRing for about 6 months now. Last month i was 2 or 3 weeks late putting it in due to issues with getting it from my Pharmacy. I had sex while i wasn’t on the NuvaRing but he said he pulled out. I put the NuvaRing in the week I usually get my period so i know I’d go a month without my period. i’m having cramps like period cramps now. Could that be signs of a pregnancy or is that okay?
