I had sex fathers day and the 29th and the condom broke but i hav the nuva ring and i got my period but its lasts 3-4 days well i put nuvaring back in on july 5th then had unprotected sex (pull out) on the 7th of july i feel different always hungry n and expect period in a wk wen can i test or how do i kno for sure if test is negative could it be from nuvaring because with my 2yo i had missed period n tested negative

All of the extra hormones, including the hormones inside of the semen, make your vagina very sensitive to semen. When i was on the nuvaring...semen burned. Nuvaring=hormones. No nuvaring and not pregnant=fine. Now 36 weeks pregnant and semen burns.

s a week late, take a test. Coming on and off of birth control while starting it early can effect your period. So this situation might be a little difficult. Be a use your period could end up being late due to going on and off BC, but just wait and see. Good luck.

I bought a pregnancy test and it was inconclusive. I bought two more and plan on using them tomorrow morning. My main concern though is that I have bipolar disorder and I am on a TON of strong medication for my illness. If there is a chance I am pregnant, I don't want the baby to be affected by the medication... I'm just really confused, and scared. Any advice?

Cramping could be from the nuvaring or from early pregnancy. If they didnt test you for pregnancy then you should buy one yourself to make sure your not pregnant thats the only way you will know for sure and if you are pregnant you will need to stop the nuvaring.

I was supposed to start my period yesterday Im NEVER late early if anything I took a pregnancy test last night and it came back negative. Is it possible that I am pregnant and that its just not showing up positive yet?

I was wondering if you can get pregnant while being on nuvaring and having sex the week that you are supposed to take it out?

Friday came and went, saturday came and went and DH and i DTD on Sunday i had very slight spotting like twice when i went to the bathroom i wiped and that was it. Took a digital pregnancy test on tuesday and wednesday and said not pregnant and then went for a beta test and they told me negative! But i can't shake the feeling that i am, i am very hormonal, hot and tired. Does anyone know of anyone this has happened too?

If you are apprehensive regarding the status of pregnancy then you can test for it., Most home pregnancy tests that check urine beta-HCG are sensitive to 20-25 mIU/ml of HCG. The test can be positive anywhere from about 2-3 days prior to a missed menses to 4-5 days after, but usually it should be done 7-10 days past your missed period. Otherwise you can get a serum HCG also done which is more specific than urine pregnancy test.

Should I be worry about being preganant course I was told if I get a test done it would show negitive, and can possible be with child.

I was on the NuvaRing for 3 months straight and used it to skip my cycle. After the 3rd or 4th week I would take it out & put in a new ring. While doing this I still bled either light or really heavy. I stopped using the NuvaRing the week before Thanksgiving. My husband & I started trying to make a baby soon after taking the ring out. I have not had a cycle since i’ve taken the NuvaRing out and it’s going on a month now.

I agree that you need to use a backup method of contraception like condoms for the rest of the month. And it would be a good idea, like Clysta said, to test in two weeks.

I was on NUVARING for 3 months and had sore nipples and spotting for 1 month after stopping it.

I am using the nuvaring and have been since July. I took antibiotics about 6 weeks ago for a cough. I was suppose to start my period on Jan 9th. I started on the 4th but it was only spotting that day then nothing since. I've been having alot of pregnancy symptoms and need some advice. Has this happened to anyone else?

But it was fine for 4 months and the last 3 periods were only spotting and for 2 days. It just stopped by its self. I think I'll test again at eh next "period" and see.

The cramps could be because of the Nuvaring. Remember that you're putting a foreign object in to your body so your body could react to that by cramping. Since it's so close to your period the cramps might be because you're getting ready to start. I recommend you see your gynecologist to tell him/her what happened. They might want to do a blood test to see if you're pregnant. Blood tests can detect very early pregnancies.

I was supposed to start my period sunday and I still havent but have taken a pregnancy test and it says negative! Is it possible its a false negative or to early to test or is my body just late from stopping bc? Anyone have any advice?

I stopped nuvaring on dec. 15th. I have tried resting, drinking gingerale, drinking less fluids, eating more ruffage.

Thanks for the feed back. Yeah I'm NOT sure if I was using it correctly. A couple times I know I didn't put it back in around the same time of day. The pharmacies around me didn't have any so I had to wait till after work a couple times to go by my house.

It could definitely be the hormones in the ring giving you weird symptoms, i however was on the nuvaring. i had a MC and went on the nuvaring right way after it and never got a period and ended up pregnant, so it is possible! especially since you had the sex before you even put it in and the time about 2 weeks after your period would most likely depending on your cycles, put you in a fertile time! good luck and hope things work out for you.

I take the ring out this sat so I want to wait a few days after that to test. I just feel misserable!

If you miss your periods then you can test 1 week- 10 days after you miss your periods or you can test for pregnancy by a highly sensitive pregnancy test 10 days post ovulation with a sensitive ( 20 - 25 mIU ) pregnancy test.. Also I would suggest you to get your serum HCG levels estimated since this is more specific than urine for pregnancy tests. The HCG (it is a hormone) levels rise only in pregnancy and its presence will confirm the status of your pregnancy. I hope it helps.
