I had sex fathers day and the 29th and the condom broke but i hav the nuva ring and i got my period but its lasts 3-4 days well i put nuvaring back in on july 5th then had unprotected sex (pull out) on the 7th of july i feel different always hungry n and expect period in a wk wen can i test or how do i kno for sure if test is negative could it be from nuvaring because with my 2yo i had missed period n tested negative
I bought a pregnancy test and it was inconclusive. I bought two more and plan on using them tomorrow morning. My main concern though is that I have bipolar disorder and I am on a TON of strong medication for my illness. If there is a chance I am pregnant, I don't want the baby to be affected by the medication... I'm just really confused, and scared. Any advice?
I was wondering if you can get pregnant while being on nuvaring and having sex the week that you are supposed to take it out?
I started the Nuvaring right after a m/c. Three weeks and 3 days later wondering when my period will start. Woke this morning thinking maybe I am pregnant. I had been having that feeling but thought it was just 'residual' thoughts of the recent pregnancy. I took a pregnancy test...positive. But less than 2 hours later I'm bleeding. I go back to look at the test just to make sure I saw what I saw...and yes it is.
Friday came and went, saturday came and went and DH and i DTD on Sunday i had very slight spotting like twice when i went to the bathroom i wiped and that was it. Took a digital pregnancy test on tuesday and wednesday and said not pregnant and then went for a beta test and they told me negative! But i can't shake the feeling that i am, i am very hormonal, hot and tired. Does anyone know of anyone this has happened too?
If you are apprehensive regarding the status of pregnancy then you can test for it., Most home pregnancy tests that check urine beta-HCG are sensitive to 20-25 mIU/ml of HCG. The test can be positive anywhere from about 2-3 days prior to a missed menses to 4-5 days after, but usually it should be done 7-10 days past your missed period.
Otherwise you can get a serum HCG also done which is more specific than urine pregnancy test.
Should I be worry about being preganant course I was told if I get a test done it would show negitive, and can possible be with child.
I was thinking the same thing that my body is trying to get use to not being on the NuvaRing. I have not taken a test yet. I was trying to wait it out to see if my cycle comes on by the end of the month.
I agree that you need to use a backup method of contraception like condoms for the rest of the month. And it would be a good idea, like Clysta said, to test in two weeks.
heck, i was on nuvaring for like 3 months, and made a freaking hit list....i dont remember any "symptoms" i had, but ooohhhh df and our friend will tell you, don't even stop to ask, just do it, and if it wasn't what i wanted done, just suck it up and drive on lol.....i do remember having spotting all the danged time....and i hated it, cos i'd keep thinking i was pregnant, when i wasn't....talk about wasting money on HPT's....
I have a question my first time using the nuvaring and I took it out that 2nd week so onJune 29 I took my nuvaring out and never put it back in had sex the next day and we had sex 3 times that day ... I never put my nuvaring back in so I started having a bad migraine and my stomach started cramping on July 3 and July 4 as of today I spotted blood a little ..
Thank you so much for the advice. I already have two kids so I know what it feels like but the nuvaring also has similar symptoms. I'm gonna take a test next week to confirm. How long were you on the nuvaring when you became pregnant?
The cramps could be because of the Nuvaring. Remember that you're putting a foreign object in to your body so your body could react to that by cramping. Since it's so close to your period the cramps might be because you're getting ready to start.
I recommend you see your gynecologist to tell him/her what happened. They might want to do a blood test to see if you're pregnant. Blood tests can detect very early pregnancies.
I stopped nuvaring on dec. 15th.
I have tried resting, drinking gingerale, drinking less fluids, eating more ruffage.
If you miss your periods then you can test 1 week- 10 days after you miss your periods or you can test for pregnancy by a highly sensitive pregnancy test 10 days post ovulation with a sensitive ( 20 - 25 mIU ) pregnancy test.. Also I would suggest you to get your serum HCG levels estimated since this is more specific than urine for pregnancy tests. The HCG (it is a hormone) levels rise only in pregnancy and its presence will confirm the status of your pregnancy.

So I had my birth control that was placed in my arm 2 years ago removed 2 weeks ago today. I was placed on the nuvaring in which I inserted the day I had my other birth control removed. I had unprotected sex with my husband three days after insertion. I am cramping and having breast tenderness. Is there a chance of pregnancy? Do you know if anyone that has gotten pregnant while switching over to the nuvaring?
If the ring was left in for more than four weeks, then it becomes less effective and you may need a pregnancy test .You may need to use condoms or not have sex for the first seven days after the new ring is inserted. It is best to visit a gynecologist and get your doubts clarified since you have not been using it as prescribed. Do write to me again with more queries.

I was on the Nuvaring and took it out around the 23rd of April and had my period like normal. We have had sex every night since then (because I wasn't sure if my ovulation would be normal) and two night ago I started spotting, then yesterday morning the blood flow was heavier, and then stopped and again this morning I started bleeding heavy. I'm having all the pregnancy symptoms (I have a 2 year old so I know how it goes) but all the home tests I take are negative.
