1407457 tn?1281317353 stick to whole wheat/whole grain with FIBER! Fiber is perfect for us who have pcos, eating more fiber...atleast 20-30 grams a day will help you stay fuller longer...therefore not eating as much. Lots of fresh (or canned or frozen) veggies as well as fresh fruit (or frozen or canned). Keep plenty of water with you at all times. I keep a 1 Liter bottle of Poland Spring water on my desk at all times, and I drink that throughout the day (and yes I refil it sometimes 3 times a day!!).
Avatar m tn I am still under active and was told it will be that way for the rest of my life, I must take Levothyroxine every day except 1. I do it 6 days a week. I did mention to my Dr the additional testing that can be done but I can't remember everything he said but he was not convinced it would be of any benefit to me. I even printed some link I got with what exactly I was talking about. He wanted to keep it and read it, so I won't see him till October.
4965377 tn?1368754511 You can make a sandwich with whole wheat bread, that would make it healthier.
Avatar n tn Consume more complex carbohydrates, such as brown rice, brown pasta and whole wheat bread, one to two weeks before you begin your training program. Complex carbs contain energy in the form of glucose, which will provide your muscles with the necessary fuel before you begin training. Complex carbs contain essential nutrients and minerals that will help your body develop after working out. A slice of wheat bread, or one half cup of white or brown rice, is a serving of complex carbs.
Avatar f tn oatmeal for breakfast, whole wheat breads, oatmeal cookies, bran muffins, whole-wheat pasta, and brown rice. Serve fruit and vegetables in any form, raw or cooked. Salads are great if she will eat it. The most important aspect to increased fiber is increasing your fluid intake. Fiber is great for increased bowel movements; however, it needs fluids to get through the colon. Suggest you limit rice, bananas, and fresh apples.
Avatar f tn If you are still using white bread try switching to wheat, spelt, rye bread etc.
Avatar f tn Eat a snack between meals, like whole wheat pasta with olive oil or a sandwich on whole-wheat bread. It is OK to eat pastries or cookies every once in a while if weight gain is the goal, but not very often!! Healthy liquids like milk, orange or pomegranate juice add to your diet. Not sugary drinks like sodas and sweetened teas. You should not drink liquids with meals because it can fill you up and lower your caloric intake.
Avatar f tn You want to eat whole grains, fruits, vegetables, avoid trans fat and bad carbs like white bread, opt for whole wheat instead. IF your doctor has cleared you for exercising, start with walking, you can do this anywhere and at your own pace. Also, it's best to eat very small healthy meals every 3-4 hours instead of 3 bigger ones. This keeps you full and your metabolism at it's peak! Good luck to you!
144210 tn?1273088782 So.....if you are not supposed to eat white bread, white Pasta's etc and you can't eat whole wheat then what the hell are you supposed to eat. We can go on a Atkins type diet but it is high in saturated fats which some people say is bad for the Liver also. Most of us cannot live on just vegetables and fruit alone. I realy think that this probably applies to a small subset of people and not to most of us with hep c.
Avatar f tn Whole wheat bread is wheat that is not milled as much so it contains the wheat fibers (that is why it is darker in color) as opposed to white bread. Soft wheat does not have much fiber as whole wheat bread. Multi-grain and whole grain breads have added grains/seeds, such as oatmeal, and sesame seeds. The label will list the additional 'grains'.
284738 tn?1283106819 To answer your question, the difference between the two breads is how your blood sugar reacts. Whole wheat bread will NOT cause a spike in your blood sugar. White bread is like eating a piece of cake. It is NOT good for you. This is probably one of the biggest gifts you can give to your family - start them young on nothing except whole wheat bread. They will never know the difference, but the fiber in the whole wheat bread is so much healthier for you.
Avatar m tn I did have a nice helping of whole wheat noodles with spag sauce and a small slice of bread. Was it the meal. SOULD i be concerned with this one high reading, are these #s good enough to stay off the meds. thanks for your help, I am still learning.
Avatar m tn As for meal plans, combining complex carbs and protein is your best bet for gaining muscle. Good meal choices are eggs and whole wheat toast with, lean meats with baked potatoes or whole grain rice/pasta (veggies don't hurt either ;-)), and protein bars/shakes with banana or peanut butter as snacks in between. The trick is to sneak in calories where you can. On the days that you hectic schedule doesn't leave you much time to cook, meal replacement shakes will be a big help.
Avatar f tn Some foods have both carbohydrates and protein! examples are whole grain products, like whole wheat bread, bagels and cereals. Vegetables, nuts and seeds also have proteins.
Avatar m tn its should be rich in proteins, carbohydrates, antioxidants, minerals, vitamins.for example in breakfast ucan have half boiled or soft boiled eggs(1-2) with whole wheat/soy mix stuff, peanutbutter, any organic soy-based milk product.in lunch ucan have lean meat(salmon/fish produts) with legumes and nuts.ucan have fruit with that.evening ucan have any mixture of fruit juices.at night ucan have soy based meal with soups of different combos(veg-non veg with soy based bread prodcuts).
Avatar f tn Stomach fat or visceral fat is very insulin sensitive. If you want to get rid of belly fat it would be suggested to cut down on sugar and carbs and eat a low carb diet. All carbs and high glycemic foods will spike insulin. If you didn't know a slice of bread will spike you blood sugar more than the same amount of calories in pure sugar! This is because wheat has and carb called amylopectin type A which is only found in wheat. This is a super carb. Most foods have type b and c.
Avatar f tn t eat white bread (or whole wheat or rye, which all contain some white flour as well).
Avatar f tn re problem was just wheat. Spelt, for example, was okay for many of them, and it has more gluten than wheat. So it remains an interesting question but one that can't be answered very well in the current fad-driven internet driven environment.
529224 tn?1400648219 I daily eat Cheerios, acidophilus milk, small glass of juice, whole wheat bread, and a salad. I also get enough to eat in general, and have eggs three times a week. Once in a while you should throw in a fresh fruit or raw carrot as a snack, and eat a dark green vegie with meals, and that will also provide more fiber. But plenty of water is indeed the key to good digestion, as is regular exercise and a variety of whole foods.
Avatar f tn Whole wheat Bread, shredded wheat cereal, fiber is chewy stuff
8867510 tn?1400309344 When saying starchy carbs above I mean you should not eat even whole wheat pasta or whole wheat crackers. You can eat legumes but keep it to just half a cup a meal. If you excersise as well you will look great in a 2 week period. After the 2 weeks just continue to eat healthy - whole grain bread, fruits etc. There you go girl. Hope it was helpful. I have been on this diet and it does miracles.
