I agree with using the food tracker to see how many calories you are eating each day, then start making small changes, like drinking water instead of soda (including diet soda), or snacking on raw veggies, rather than a candy bar, yogurt in place of ice cream, etc. Exercise is essential to losing weight AND being healthy. There are exercises you can do that should not bother your asthma.
Avatar f tn Most of the ways that will help you lose weight "fast" are not healthy for you and once you stop doing what you are/were doing, you will most likely gain back whatever weight you lost, plus some........ It's generally figured that losing about 1-2 pounds/week is the safest; that's not fast, but if you actually make "lifestyle changes" that you can stick with, you will be better prepared to keep off whatever you lose.

White rice is easier to digest, whether it turns to glucose or not, and does not cause the inflammation that brown rice causes. Please notice that I did not recommend eating a lot of it and to eat it with healthy proteins. Just because something has fiber doesn't make it the best choice for you.

Avatar f tn Top three tips to be able to maintain any weight lose. 1) eat every 3-4 hrs. 2) don't eat more than 200-350 calories per meal. 3) keep any meals to 40% carbs 40% protein and only 10% fat. You could up the protein n reduce the carbs too. Also if you exercise a lot you may need more calories. Keep your blood sugars regular to avoid binges. You should be hungry at each meal interval.
Avatar f tn / Though I think the first thing to do is lose any water weight you have by drinking a lot of water regularly (I've got an app on my phone which tells me how much water I should be drinking each day and that helps motivate me) also record what you eat and it's nutritional values (I also have an app for this) and don't skip breakfast! Then just do leg exercises (e.g. squats, lunges) often.
Avatar f tn There's plenty of fast ways to lose weight, (ECA stacks, MasterCleanse, etc) but they're not healthy, don't last, and you suffer for them! (Vomiting, jitters, insomnia, vertigo, headaches, spasms... the list goes on!) Easy ways to shed lbs are to just cut back on portion sizes, cut back on processed carbs, drink more water, and make time to do some exercise on a regular basis. Fast? No. Healthy? Yes!
Avatar f tn I am not a sports nutritionist but i do know that NOT eating is the WRONG way to lose weight. Also, only consuming 1000 calories is not going to help. Your body needs fuel or it will "shut down" it will put its self in a survival state and store any food you eat b/c it doesnt know when you will fuel it again. I would suggest you eat 5-6 small, healthy meals a day and continue running and weight training.

As we exercise we build lean body muscle mass which weight more than fat so the scale reflects no weight loss when in fact the body is trimming down fat. Measure your waist and hips as a guide for trimming down. The tape measure will measure loss of inches and your clothes will start to feel looser. As long as the body is toning up, there is weight loss.
Avatar f tn Thank you for sharing that. I am trying to lose weightas well. I eat healthy and exercise daily doing yoga. Yoga easiest for me because I am a 22-24. I am happy to see that it is doable. I'm tying to lose 30 lbs by December 31. If I fall short, no biggie. I just keep going. I'm thankful for the 10 I've already lost!!!
Avatar f tn I lost a few pounds in the first trimester and didn't start gaining weight until around 20 weeks or so. If your only 4 weeks your not going to gain weight yet unless your eating a lot of extra calories . I didn't have an appetite either in the beginning because of all the nauseousness that I was going through.
Avatar f tn I got married in September and a few months prior decided to start dieting for the wedding. With not much time, and a lot of weight to lose, I did the HCG diet. I lost about 30 pounds over a trial of 2 months. I wasn't great at following the diet word for word or I'm sure I would have lost more weight. I am now trying the diet again after gaining some weight back because I was eating fast food for lunch everyday. Good Luck!

I feel I have to reach the point of obesity before being help? The latest diagnosis was that I may just have to live with, I certainly don't agree with that. Avatar f tn Trying to lose weight can be very frustrating especially if you are not seeing results (believe me....I feel your frustration). Have you tried tracking your calories in the food diary so that you can keep track of everything that you eat? If weight watchers (a very low calorie eating plan) worked in the past, chances are, you are currently eating too many calories and need to cut back on the calories and increase your exercise. As much as I hate to hear it and say it.....
