Anyways, I gained weight on weight watchers before, when there wasn't the lower carb choice. I am now doign South Beach and have had success this week.

Avatar n tn You say you watch what you eat! but you didn't state what the diet menu is and the calories. at the gym do weights first and cardio last. Doing cardio first you become tired and then it's harder to do proper weight training. Try the following routine! The Peak 8 routine it will quickly raise your heart rate 8 times for very short bursts, with a cooling down period in between.

973741 tn?1342342773 I find that finding some low carb treats that I can enjoy helps a lot with sticking with the plan. My weakness is actually chocolate. So, I buy the very dark chocolate (around 85% cocoa or higher). This is so rich and satisfying that just 1 piece is usually enough. There are plenty of great recipes for low carb foods these days. For example, instead of having spaghetti and meat sauce, I have spiralized zucchini with meat sauce.
Avatar f tn No alcohol, no smoking, no coffee, no refined salt, either celtic sea salt or the Himalaya pink one and no refined flour etc. Only eat organic produce incl. spices, filtered water, and use a shower filter in the bathroom. I have eliminated all toxins from my diet, including products I put on my skin and hair are organic. Even changed all my cookware, to non toxic materials.

Avatar n tn It takes some time for the weight loss to occur, but it is mostly the result of changing your diet. Change to low carb, high fat and protien diet. Get rid of sugar and gluten.
Avatar n tn If you would like to follow me I eat low carb I eat 30 carbs a day bc I had JD and my dad died at 53 from complication to diabetes so if I eat 30 or less carbs a day my A1C is 5.3 when I eat carbs it's about a 8 so that's my happy number.

I've done it on and off for several years. It keeps me away from things that 'sound' healthy for me, like whole wheat crackers, which I might as well staple to my belly for all the good they do me! I recently had my cholesterol checked and my numbers were terrific. And I actually feel better eating low-carb!
1401296 tn?1280799533 however, my feeling is that your body needs all of the food groups, so by cutting out carbs, you could be depriving your body of necessary nutrients, etc. If you do go on a carb free diet and lose weight, most likely, you will gain it back if you go off the plan. If you stick with the complex carbs - fruits, veggies, whole grains, etc - and eliminate the simple carbs - such as sugar, white flour, regular pasta, etc, - you should do better. Of course, you still have to limit your portions.
Tbd Carbs from whole grains and/or carbs with fiber will help you maintain more stable blood sugar. You will have to work out by trial and error (using your meter) what works for you. Also you will need to check out how to properly dose both basal and bolus insulin. Look up dr. Richard Bernstein.
