Avatar f tn One of the known side effects of Nexium (Esomeprazole Magnesium) is jerking muscle movements so i'd say if he isn't experiencing a side effect of the Nexium, because he's stressed and experiencing weird dreams it's probably just normal sleep induced myoclonic muscle twitches as he's going in and out of the sleep fazes. "Sleep myoclonus occurs during the initial phases of sleep, especially at the moment of dropping off to sleep.
Avatar f tn I started taking Pradaxa less thatn a montha ago and am taking the same dosage and noticed the same heartburn and was prescribed Nexium for it. That is one of the side effects. Avatar m tn However, not everyone who takes the medication will experience side effects. If side effects do occur, in most cases, they are minor, meaning they either require no treatment or are easily treated by a healthcare provider.
Avatar n tn Recent x ray shows that my rib cage still has two acute fractures. Needless to say between the joint pain, muscle pain and rib pain I am on multiple narcotic meds. These include 6 40 mgm Oxycontins a day, 7.5 mgm Vicodin for breakthrough and duragesic patch. I also take xanax for severe panic attacks. I am so sick of being a slave to my medications. I went from being an award winning professional in working with at risk youth to an unemployed addict.
Avatar n tn I've been dealing with gerd issues for the last half year. Colonoscopy and endoscopy were negative. I did do a series of rolling barium stomach xray which did show my stomach was on a roller coaster ride. I've been on most of the meds for gerd, from Zantac to Nexium to Lansoprazole to Pantoprazole. In December I started to develope numbness in my left foot and right hand. (Last night I noticed my left anke was swollen.
Avatar f tn It mostly works for my GERD - without it it is unbearable. The problem I have is the terrible side effects. They are all gastrointestinal. I am miserable all the time. I feel like my food takes FOREVER to digest and move through my system! I feel like when I eat the food just "sits" there for such a long time. I feel constipated, but can "go" most days, though not completely. I have gained about 8 pounds, and most days I look like I'm pregnant!
Avatar f tn Hi I had a colonscopy 10/09/09, and I'm still having side effects. At first I couldn't stop going liquid then it cleared up for a couple of days now it's back. They found 4 polyps again beign but the kind that can turn into cancer so I have to have another next year. But I'm having to use tucks and I'm bleeding off and on from the rectum. I still have bloating feel kind of tired.
Avatar f tn I had civir stomach pain, my husband took me to hospital. They gave me nexium and the pain went. I saw my doctor and he checked fir heliocabactor, negative. Nothing showed up on ultrasound. He reckons my stomach lining is inflamed due to much acid and put me on nexium 40 for 2 weeks and then on nexium 20. As I got pain I took a 40 instead of 20 yesterday and expierienced side affects pretty civir: nausea, digestion 3 times worse then before, gas, headaches.
Avatar f tn Instead of coming off the the meds abruptly, think about coming off of the meds a step at a time over a period of weeks-to-months. There can be a problem with 'rebound' reflux and it can make a person miserable. So please factor that into your plan. Issues being reported with the use of PPIs and heart/electrical conduction disturbances, and this side-effect is now being noted on the 'side-effect' section of the patient handouts on these medications.
Avatar f tn It started as a feeling of lump in my throat (couldnt feel an actual lump, just a sensation) and then went on to pain in upper throat behind the soft palate. Sometimes i have pain in my right ear. The pain is more pronounced on the right side. I have no other symptoms like headaches, fever, cold etc. The doctor seems to think its a baterial infection and has given antibiotics. The sore throat is more severe the moment i wake up in the morning and just before i go to bed.
Avatar n tn And yes, it does have many side-effects. I had to stop taking it because it was causing severe muscle spams and twitching.
Avatar f tn My dad, for example, it taking only one fourth of the low dose of Lipitor and it is working great at bringing his LDL down to 79. Muscle pain is the side effect of statins, but in a smaller lower dose you may not have the pain and it still may work for you. You may also want to take a look at your diet. Red meat, for example, raises LDL levels. I lowered my LDL from approximately 130 to 79 by eliminating red meat for one year (it has now been 13 years since I had beef).
