Yes Tums and if i remember pepto is what my ob said. Or the prescription nexium or the generic as i was prescribed the generic because my heartburn is so bad,i was actually sent to a Cardiologist because at first they thought it was my heart add the pain was so bad and constant. But do not take Tums all day everyday as too much can be dangerous.

Is anyone out there taking Teva's version of Nexium? I'm to the point now where I can't get the brand. I was astonished to see that this generic version's co-pay through my insurance is so high! $80 for 90 days. I could understand this price for the brand, but for generic? Anyway, I had tried this version as I had to with my last insurance, it and I didn't do as well on it. I tried it for a week. I an wondering if it was just my imagination.

They are safe ive been taking my whole pregnancy and im 36w today. Dr even said over the counter heartburn meds are ok like nexium types. Good luck . I feel the burn too lol prob even go thru about half a gallon of milk daily and no relief. Had heartburn with my daughter also and no full head of hair lke most say.. we will see but hope you do find some relief!

Nexium is a category B heartburn medicine and safe to take during pregnancy.

So any medication that you can go in and buy without a prescription is considered an over the counter medication. This would include every single med lined up on the shelves ..... pain killers, cough meds, diarrhea meds, nausea meds, stomach meds, anti-itching meds, everything. If I recall correctly, you have cirrhosis, so you really do have to be careful not to take anything that the doctor does not approve first.

Personally, I like Nexium. I think it is a better drug. I have a drug plan and I have to take Prilosec. I can't even get the trade name, I have to take the generic. I took Nexium for a few years and I do think it worked better for me. I don't know about water brash, sorry.

I bought over the counter prenatals as I have not been to the doctor yet. The nearest doctor is a hour away and I dont get paid till after halloween.

ve been having the same symtoms too ,with weight loss.By accident ,I tried pepsid ac extra strenght.This over the counter med help me alot.Give it a try ,It may work for you.

Yes nexium is ok to take, i hane cirrhosis and thats what my hepo ordered for me, he did switch me to prilosec only because its over the counter same as prevacid which is also ok.............

For now, my gastrenterologist is treating me with over the counter Nexium (20mg/capsule) and said I could continue taking over the counter Beano and Simethicone (125mg chewable tablet) so that's what I've been doing. I've taken Nexium twice before (10 days for the first time in October 2019 and 4 days the second time 3 weeks ago) so I hope that I won't need a higher dose. I guess I still have gastritis even though the pain went away.

I developed around 8000+ PVCs a day after being on Nexium for several years. I cut back on it to save money, using a calcium/magnesium, over the counter antacid on daysI didn't take Nexium. I eventually weaned off Nexium, and to my great surprise my PVCs stopped. I had my heart monitored just to be sure, (before my regular treadmill stress test) and the cardiologist said there were no longer any PVCs at all.

you can get Gaviscon in generic over the counter. I'm trying it and got some charcoal tablets too.

My Dr at Kaiser said that the OTC and the ones they prescribe are the same. I didn't argue with her since she has the degree and just bough some from the pharmacy. When ever your next visit is with your OB check with her/him.
