nexium generic cost

In several other countries, Nexium can now be made into a generic drug because the Nexium people lost their lawsuits in those countries .) I've been tempted to try to get the inexpensive generic form of Nexium from places like India or the UK, but so far I haven't done so. I will be happy when Nexium finally becomes a generic here in the U.S. The cost is ridiculous. I, too, have to watch drug prices.

Personally, I like Nexium. I think it is a better drug. I have a drug plan and I have to take Prilosec. I can't even get the trade name, I have to take the generic. I took Nexium for a few years and I do think it worked better for me. I don't know about water brash, sorry.

My doctor told me prilosec, they cost $22.00. But he said go to sams & get the generic ones they were cheaper.they called omeprazole they cost $10.00, take 1 every morning.& ever since last week i been taking them & no acid reflex or heart burn.

my insurence does not pay for brand Nexium. Only brand Nexium works. The company who makes Nexium will ok brand if I have a rejection from my Ins. Co. I called my Ins. co and they said that the do not send papers out that they do not pay for brands. I am taking tagamet otc- Walmart generic brand and for me it is better than the rx ones- But that's just me....

The best medicines I have been prescribed are Nexium and Protonix. Protonix has a generic available so is inexpensive and works perfectly for me. Studies have shown Nexium to be consistently the most effective but it is more expensive and not always covered by every health insurance plan. United Healthcare for example does not cover Nexium.

I think insurance companies are dropping many drugs because acceptable generic equivalents are available, as is the case with Nexium (Esomeprazole). The generic version of the drug will work very well for you. I'm betting you will be just fine. I wonder if you have considered discussing tapering off/discontinuing Nexium/Esomeprazole and see what happens. After having the Nissen Fundoplication surgery I was able to discontinue taking the drug and have been symptom free.

As far as cost - if you have insurance once it's generic it usually goes on the cheaper generic copay list if you have that sort of insurance. so for instance if with your insurance you pay $30 for non-generic drugs on the approved list and $10 for generics on the approved list - you'd be paying $20 less/month for your valtrex. Typically it's 30% reduction in price when it goes generic initially for paying out of pocket. drugstore.
