Im 34 and in great shape, lift 4-5 days per week, low blood pressure 120/80 / 110/70 with a total cholesterol of 175. I've been on nexium for 2 years from messing up my stomach from vicodin and coffee. The last year I've been experiencing constant belching and bloating in my stomach after certain foods but staring to belch a lot after all meals. I'm now experiencing my heart skipping beats during my belching bouts, and when I go out and drink alcohol.
I was given samples of Nexium to try for two weeks. At the end of the trial, I did not notice any improvement. I also had developed new problems of bloating, especially just to the left of my "six-pack". When I sat down, it felt like something was being crushed or pinched in my abdomen also had pain under my solar plexus and across my abdomen just under my rib cage. I had a lot of belching and gas while on Nexium.
p. suggested trying (Nexium) - Esomeprazole 20mg instead, with the instruction that if there was a temporary flare up, - double the dose. After several months this infrequent chest pain, accompanied by bloating, sore stomach and not too much reflux has become very intrusive and the pain worse, often improved by some food! Could the Nexium be too powerful after time and be a trouble maker? has anyone experience, please? I have had "Pylori" test, endoscopy etc.
ve had chest pain, difficulty breathing, incredible stomach bloating/distention (even after just drinking a glass of water), burping, reflux, and heartburn. My main concern is the bloating and difficulty breathing. I can barely function on a day to day basis. I eat little bites all day long because I can't eat a full meal or I start hyperventilating. I have had an EGD which showed a polyp (was removed) and some mild esophagitis. I don't have H.
It seems like previously Nexium seem to help a little. I did have slighly low iron level. One gastro specialist think IBS, but I am not constipated. Though I did notice bloating and less bowel moveements than before. Any suggestions or other tests that you recommend?
After taking Celebrex about 6 years ago, I gradually started developing heartburn & reflux. It got so bad that I couldn't eat anything but saltine crackers and I lost 20 pounds over about a 2 month period. To go along with this, I would have episodes of tachycardia (heart rate 130 - 140) & difficulty breathing. The episodes of tachycardia & dyspnea seemed to be associated with stomach bloating & nausea.
I have been experiencing acid reflux, abdominal cramping and excessive bloating for over a year now. I have tried giving up different foods, acidic foods and beverages and nothing seems to help. I have had endoscopy, colonoscopy and ultra sound as well as blood work and everything comes out normal. I have tried Nexium, Asiphex and most other acid inhibitors but none seem to really help.
Consultant who thought it was excessive acid and prescribed Nexium 40mg a day. These have made very little difference. I have had an endoscope down my throat which has found a lax cardia and gastritis of the lower stomach. The consultant has discharged me and I have no results back from the biopsies done. I am having problems sleeping as the back of my head aches and gives me an ongoing migraine which lasts most of the day.
About 3 months ago I started getting really upset stomach, bloating, and a little diarrhea. I went on Pepcid ac, pantoprazol, and now my doc prescribed nexium. These meds work for a few weeks then stop working. I am now wondering if my stomach issues start over every time I take another bluechew pill (which is only once every few weeks).
Has anyone else had stomach issues with viagra or generic sildenafil?
2013 March - They found that I have H Pylori infection and treated me 3 times with nexium antibiotic treatment. Still the sensation of sqeezing in stomach, heart or chest pain existed and still continuing.Endoscopy and Colono scopy were done and everything looked normal. Continuing Nexium treatment.Fatty liver and fatty pancreas diagnosed.
2014 March - Endoscopy, CT Scan and Ultra sound were done.Results say Gastric antrum mild chronic inflammation, fatty liver and pancreas.
Hi I had a colonscopy 10/09/09, and I'm still having side effects. At first I couldn't stop going liquid then it cleared up for a couple of days now it's back.They found 4 polyps again beign but the kind that can turn into cancer so I have to have another next year. But I'm having to use tucks and I'm bleeding off and on from the rectum. I still have bloating feel kind of tired.
Over the years I have been diagnosed with IBS and hiatus hernia too and from time to time get bad stomach bloating, discomfort which is always accompanied by headaches and a general weird feeling. The past couple of months I have had a lot of stress and just don't feel right, have had episodes of bad palpitations, along with the stomach problems. I have had blood tests, ECG, CT scan, abdominal scans and nothing came back abnormal.
i had hiatal hernia surgery 10 years ago, it worked great , and 1 year ago my symptoms returned hard, look for alkaline diets on google,give it a try for a week eating 70% alkaline foods and 30% acid, i was suffering for extreme acid reflux, i changed my diet and stop using 40 gram nexium , i am out of nexium now and feel better than ever, no bloating, no reflux and my throat feels like singing!!! i hope it works for you!

Doc did try to treat my symptoms with Nexium, Prilosec, Zantac, Prevacid, with no relief, I have tried Gas X, Fleet enema, Milk of magnesia, Epson salt, which cleans out my system, but still feel severe pressure, as if my stomach and intestines are majorly swollen or about to burst.
Sometimes my chest gets super tight, as if air is trapped, and I have to burp real bad, but can't, or feel I have to pass major gas, but nothing happens, even after taking Gas X,.
Basically, approximately twice a month, I will suffer from a bout that last between 1 and 3 days that generally consists of EXTREME bloating, EXTREME flatulence, cramping, and, sometimes, irregular bowel movements. Sometimes it comes in conjunction with constipation…sometimes it comes with significant diarrhea.
This that it goes down my throat happened 10 years ago, when I was 30 pounds heavier. I took Prilosec and then Nexium and it solved the problem then. Now (I am normal weight now), when I remember, I take Pepcid AC and it seems to solve the problem for the next night. I am thinking of taking Prilosec or Nexium to permanently stop this from happening. What do you think?
I started getting these agonizing stomach pains one night a few weeks back. my food intake was normal home made meals, high fibre foods like boiled vegetable, chicken, etc. I started taking Ibuprfen, because I thought it might help as I thought I ate something wrong. Than the pain didn't reoccur untill I got my period two feeks back.
My reg family doc wanted me to go to see the gastro doctor to have an endo done back like 3 or 4 months ago when he had to switch me from protonix (which is my 2nd or 3rd med to try for acid reflux) to Nexium , the strongest dose 40 mgs I think. Well at the time I didn't have time to go see the gastro doc. But I had to go see a ENT because of an ear infection and he said my throat looked really irriated and I had better get my acid reflux checked out.
i understand what your going through bec. we are exactly on the same boat.have you read the post from sickboy1 in this forum?if not, try reading it,its a detailed explanation of what he had been through (medicines,tests,drs etc.) including his advice and his research leading him to believe that its bile reflux. i think he also mentioned that he is going through diversion surgery.its a major surgery i believe wherein they'll divert bile flow to a lower part of the intestine.
Immediatly after that i started having bowel changes, cramps heartburn and stomach pain with gas and bloating. 3doctors including gi said it was ibs and put me on pantoloc40mg and colofac. It didn't work out too well until my doc diagnosed me with mild depression. I was put on zoloft 50mg. I was always checking out my symptoms and thought the doctors weren't doing their job and i was going to die. However in a few weeks i started feeling great and stomach settled down.
Been taking Zantac effervescent regularly and have tried every other drug known to man but the doctor suggested we try 20mg Nexium a day to see if that helps. It has, but after 10 days now I seem to be getting worse again. Also started taking Gaviscon (again) before meals.
The question is how long do we take the Nexium? permenently, or stop when I feel better? the doctor was vague abd said the usual; come back in 2 weeks and let me know how you are.
Anybody have any side affects?
