Neupogen wbc

Common Questions and Answers about Neupogen wbc

neupogen

Avatar m tn Hi, The Neulasta will work as well as 11 shots of the Neupogen. This is because, the Neupogen is eliminated by the kidney. Neulasta will be eliminated by the WBC, so Neulasta keeps working for as long as the WBC is low. Stay positive.
1118724 tn?1357010591 Last time, 4 shots ago, I took 4 shots of Neupogen in a little over a week of a two week hiatus. The WBC went from 1.5 b4 Neup to 23 after! Or so they claim, I'm skeptical until I pinpoint the particular CBC and get a copy. Does this sound possible? Given I'm under full dose peg and co-peg, pulled from tx 3x's now for low WBC, what in the world could possibly be the down side to having 23k WBC under Neupogen??? (eventually figure out a maintenance dose and boogie till you puke.
1331833 tn?1275602865 Low levels of WBC 2.2 The doctor wants to lower pegasys dose and has not mentioned anything about Neupogen as an alternative. Taking another blood test in the am but uncertain about the lower dose of pegasys and the if it will actually work. Ribivarin is the co pilot if you were wondering. My third week is Friday.
Avatar f tn HI ALL,HOPING U CAN HELP ME OUT WITH WHERE TO FIND/BUY MEDS LIKE NEUPOGEN FOR LOW WBC,IV HAD LOTS OF TROUBLE WITH LOW WBC AND MY DOC SAID AUSTRALIA HAS NOT APPROVED IT. IM AN AUSSIE AND HOPING SOME1 KNOWS OF WHERE TO GET THIS STUFF,OR ANYTHING THAT WILL HELP.IV HAD MY DOSE LOWERED AND IT SHATTERS ME COS MY CHANCES WOULD BE MUCH HIGHER WITH FULL DOSE OF INTERFERON. I DONT CARE WHAT IT COSTS I JUST WANT TO BRING MY WBC UP COS IV HAD SO MANY INFECTIONS AND FLUES ETC.
Avatar m tn The decision of whether or not I need neupogen is based on my anc, not my wbc. I've had wbc under 2 and not had to do neupogen. In my case, if my anc, are less than 750, I take neupogen. My heptalogist is pretty top notch. I'd question yours, to be quite honest.
Avatar n tn I am on week 28 and now my wbc id down Is there anything I could take to raise the numbers?
Avatar m tn I did the 2 weeks test without the pcr and the WBC was 2 and Neut was 22. The NP gave me 4 neupogen injections of which I used 2 in 2 weeks but instead of the WBC going up it tanked. Now my NP wants me to inject 4 injections in a week. Is it normal to do 4 injections in a week? My PCR result will come out next week and I will post it here. I am doing SOC for genotype 4 and will add vic next week. Is there any other way to beef up WBC without nuepogen. I am not sure it works for my system.
302488 tn?1337551241 My ANC ranges from about .6 to 1.0 (this is the number of neutrophils out of the total WBC). I have taken neupogen 6 times in those 44 weeks. My doctor thinks I should do it every 4 days but that ain't gonna happen. The stuff is tough on the system. I think your WBC is fine.
Avatar f tn Okay, it would be neupogen for his wbc. When mine were that low my doc had me take neupogen although he actually looks at anc rather than wbc. However, despite how low my wbc were, it never made me have shortness of breath. The ribavarin could be responsible for that. His rbc are low but nothing to worry about.
Avatar m tn no but i did start with very low reds and i am just about ok , well not really but not on rescue drugs anyway
Avatar m tn You walk out with a bandaid 5 minutes after it is done. My WBC crashed and stayed down even with neupogen. About 5 months after treatment ended my WBC was still below .08 (absolute neutrophil count was zero) and I was hospitalized with an infection. The biopsy showed just a very beat up bone marrow due to interferon. It took a year to come back and since I was cirrhotic, it never gets above low normal. I wish you the best. Have you been given neupogen or neulasta?
Avatar n tn How much neupogen are you guys taking per shot.
Avatar m tn Does a drug such as Neupogen (G-CSF) increases the possibility of rejection due to increased WBC? Or is rejection caused by another part of the immune system rather than WBC and ANC?
Avatar f tn I have been taking the Neupogen for the entire nine months. I take Neupogen 3 times a week (tues, thurs, sat) and my counts are still low. My most recent (2/19/08) lab results are as follows: WBC 2.0 ANC 520 RBC 3.54 Hemoglobin 11.7 I am also taking Procrit every other Friday. My lowest WBC count was 1.8. I agree with nygirl, your numbers seem ok. My doctor would have put you on the Neopogen bases on your WBC and ANC. Let your doctor know that you are concerned about your numbers.
Avatar f tn Once I had to reduce to 1/2 of Riba because my ANC dropped to 400 and wouldn't come back up. I only did it for a week. I believe it's your ANC that is the driver not only your WBC. But, I know my dr. looked at my platlets & hemoglobin along with the ANC, before determining the reduction. When my WBC was around 1.8 - 1.9, I stayed on full tx.
Avatar f tn I just read that a lot of people try NOT to take Neupogen unless it is a necessity due to sx. I am on Neupogen and I take it 3 times a week and have been taking it for 8 mos. now. Does anyone know exactly why people/anyone would want to NOT take Neupogen? Your answers may provide some insight for me and my sx's.
Avatar m tn Neupogen works within hours. I take one shot a week, prolly should take two. It does what it's supposed too while physical effects have been zero. Someone correct this if wrong. Neup is used to increase WBC/ANC count. WBC is essentially the immune system. A low WBC count won't cause fatigue. Low RBC and Hemoglobin will since it transports oxygen.
Avatar f tn my doc put me on Neupogen right away when my ANC dropped to .75. and Neupogen is just an extra weekly shot to keep my WBC and ANC up! it's a rescue drug for me! good job on UND!!!
1118724 tn?1357010591 //www.rxlist.com/neupogen-drug.htm "in cancer patients receiving NEUPOGEN® as an adjunct to myelosuppressive chemotherapy‚ it is recommended‚ to avoid the potential risks of excessive leukocytosis‚ that NEUPOGEN® therapy be discontinued if the ANC surpasses 10‚000/mm3 after the chemotherapy-induced ANC nadir has occurred. Doses of NEUPOGEN® that increase the ANC beyond 10‚000/mm3 may not result in any additional clinical benefit.
Avatar m tn Last week my platelet was dropped to 71000 from 156000, WBC was at 2590, HGB was at 10.9 and Neurophils at 38%. So I had 2 shots of Neupogen and Mircera 100 (Epogen) as asked by my Dr. My yesterday's bloodwork came as HGB 11.5, WBC 27830 (Range 4500-11,500) , Neutrophils 88 (Range 50-70) and Platelet at 156000. When asked about the abnormality my Dr. Rx antibiotic for 5days as the reason for both WBC & Neutrophils extremely high is due to an infection.
Avatar f tn The neupogen makes me feel so bad. for about 2.5 days. Is there a chance you can wean off the neupogen early? It does keep my wbc up. but it I could even skip it for the last 2 wks, I would! Any ideas out there?
410850 tn?1229178711 I am on Day #2, Week #7. My HGB and WBC counts just keep dropping. I am back on weekly CBC's. My regular nurse is out this week, so I have the very limited info her sub gave me yesterday- neutrophils down from just over 1100 to 620. They want me back on Friday to evaluate CBCs and make decisions on "helper" drugs. I should get copies of everything in the mail today and will then know more... ANY suggestions. input, ideas? What can I do on my own?????
Avatar m tn My WBC is getting a bit low (dropped slightly below 1.0). Going to get a shot of GCSF (Neupogen) tomorrow. Is it known to work most or all of the time?
Avatar m tn s expected that someone treating with these drugs will have a drop in their WBC. Doctors often manage this with Neupogen (filgastrin), which is a medication that helps the body's ability to produce white blood cells. I believe it comes pre-dosed and needs to be refrigerated. It may cause some bone pain.
