I have been doing "some" reading on Neupogen and have read that although it is not FDA approved for the treatment of,HCV, no generics being manufactured and is quite expensive. Are there assistance programs out there to assist with cost of Neupogen if my Dx prescribes. I am on a basic health program and co-pay 50% for all meds.

I evacuated before the storm came and only took a 2 wks supply of my injections. I left most of my meds (2 pegasys, and like 8 neupogen) at home in the fridge beause i didn't want to take all my meds and have them spoiled just in case i get delayed on the road. Now i'm safe, but i'm worred about my meds at home bc i know for a fact that my entire street is out of power.

I´m in a studie for relapsers geno 2, 3 in europe, roche is providing it and roche wanted them to reduce dose when coming down to 500 but my doc and another thats in charge has decided they let them come down to 300 something dont remember exact nr could be 330 or 370 before taking action.

9 Started Tx at 155lb with 1200mg(Riba), from 5th week reduced to 1000mg as weight fell to 147lb and when Neupogen came in on weekly dose till date.At 12 week my weight fell to 145lb as well as my Hg under 10 & my Dr. asked me to start Mircera/50microgm (ROCHE) to be taken once in two weeks and reduce my Riba to 800mg(Which I have not yet).At week 13 blood work Hg came at 11.1 and at 14th week blood work stays at 11.

Give the fine folks here a call. I was on Medicare and they covered my treatment 100%; no copays, deductibles, etc.

For the last 16 week I have been in a Roche trial using Pegasys/Copegus with a polymerase inhibitor called RO4588161. Today I was informed to stop taking the RO study drug due to safety concerns. RATS!!!! I have been UND since week 6 and they will continue me on SOC.

Do any of you have information about any long term side effects if you had Neupogen for 40 weeks?

I just read that a lot of people try NOT to take Neupogen unless it is a necessity due to sx. I am on Neupogen and I take it 3 times a week and have been taking it for 8 mos. now. Does anyone know exactly why people/anyone would want to NOT take Neupogen? Your answers may provide some insight for me and my sx's.

The Hematologist said he was going to start him on Neupogen is anyone else taking this and is it working for them. He also said that he may need a transfusion , which is freaking my husband out because that is how we suspect he contracted the Hep c orignally (back in the 80s). I told him that they screen the blood much differently now then they did back then , but he is still freaking out. Anyone who is taling Neupogen please let me know if it is helping.

low blood count started neupogen injections to build up white blood cell count so I can have chemotherapy, can I drink beer with this?

Just got the call this morning that my doctor wants to put me on Neupogen for 4 weeks because my white blood cells are so low. I'm so disappointed, I really wanted to be done shooting into myself!! Anyone else out there on this drug? I don't know a thing about it.

So the doc finally agreed to a neupogen shot, after many delayed shots of pegasys. I was supposed to do a shot tuesday, however got bloodwork done today and anc is 620, Doc says to take neupogen tonight (I did, the neupogen is 300mcg, im ~130lbs) and get more bloodwork done on thursday, and then he'll call friday with whether or not to take the shot or not. So here I am, waiting, again. Arggg!

I am supposed to receive Neupogen tomorrow. Did my peg shot this morning. I'm sure I will get instructions with the med but it's good to get some input from those who are currently treating with it. Are we supposed to wait 24 hrs after the peg shot to inject Neup? Should I inject more slowly than I do with Peg? Docs office told me to reduce peg today to 135 mcg but I didn't (me not listen - what a revelation) because I knew I was getting the Neup tomorrow.

Have been trying to cost what a ceiling amount might be for a 12 week period to see if I can organise sufficient funds. Neupogen in prepared syringes are sold in packs of 10 - $1504 for 3000mcg/.5ml shots and $2407 for 480mcg/.5ml shots. I realise that amount required is case dependant but wouldnt mind any info which might assist me to at least get some idea of the range which may generally apply.

As far as I know trials on that drug have been discontinued. However Roche has a new ploymerase inhibitor in development (R7128) and a 2nd generation drug of the same. It is having great results and human trials trials thus far show that the virus does not develop resistance to it. I was a Geno 3a null responder to previous SOC of 24 weeks and R7128 took me to UND by Week 4. I followed up with another 44 weeks of SOC (I was a Phase 1b trial) amd I am now SVR.

It has been one week since the last treatment and my WBC count is 900 (ninehundred) Can they now give me a neupogen shot. I would think they should take a count daily. and give Neupogen if it till it corrects.

Anyone get any help with bone pain and seems like a migraine after neupogen ? I am on my second shot and it's 4:30 am and I have been up all nite with a horriable headache and severe nausea. Will call docs today and ask for something.

Next time I try treatment I'm going to suggest to my doctor to prescribe neupogen and procrit before I start to get the counts up. Mine have always dropped into the low range. I found especially the neupogen made me feel rough after I was already well into treatment and didn't do a whole lot. Why don't doctors prescribe it before treatment? Would there be a downside to that?

I had awful bone pain when I was on Neupogen. I've always contended for me, the side effects from Neupogen were as bad if not worse than those from antiviral therapy. It stimulates the colonies of white stem cells within the bone marrow causing the level of neutrophils in the blood to rise. It is common to have aching bones and joints for 2-3 days duration starting 1-2 days after the start of the injections.
