HI ALL,HOPING U CAN HELP ME OUT WITH WHERE TO FIND/BUY MEDS LIKE NEUPOGEN FOR LOW WBC,IV HAD LOTS OF TROUBLE WITH LOW WBC AND MY DOC SAID AUSTRALIA HAS NOT APPROVED IT. IM AN AUSSIE AND HOPING SOME1 KNOWS OF WHERE TO GET THIS STUFF,OR ANYTHING THAT WILL HELP.IV HAD MY DOSE LOWERED AND IT SHATTERS ME COS MY CHANCES WOULD BE MUCH HIGHER WITH FULL DOSE OF INTERFERON. I DONT CARE WHAT IT COSTS I JUST WANT TO BRING MY WBC UP COS IV HAD SO MANY INFECTIONS AND FLUES ETC.

I was supposed to do a shot tuesday, however got bloodwork done today and anc is 620, Doc says to take neupogen tonight (I did, the neupogen is 300mcg, im ~130lbs) and get more bloodwork done on thursday, and then he'll call friday with whether or not to take the shot or not. So here I am, waiting, again. Arggg!

5 hours later it was pretty painful,im not a weeny i can handle pain but this is a pain i could do without. so from then on i took childrens ibpro. 1hour before no more pain with that so if i have to cont. the neuprogen maybe i should do the same with this---thank you !

My white cell count is at 400. I get a second dose of neupogen tomorrow. If it doesn't boost it back up doc says treatment stops. Then what...Still working but im sooo tired. can i get disability? Im also bi-polar. I take over twenty pills a day including supplements...

im starting to realize im not alone with the pain from neupogen shots however the last 2 sets of shots put me in the hospital even after i took about 400mg of morph for the pain , the hosp then gave me more pain killer and admitted me im feelin wimpy and teary eyed im tired of being sick and alone cancer that is in my bones and hep c fractures in my hip im asuming from the meds from what ive read im trying to keep my pain meds down but 500mgsof morph a day and my 30mgs of instant release every

On thursday it was my second chemo session but it couldnt be done because my white blood cell coutn was down to -9. They injected what i recall to be Neupogen. Since then, i am worthless. Ive had constant fatigue the entire thursday and friday. Now it is saturday at 4:33am and my back hurts very much. Ive tried tylenol, ibuprofen and it seems to do little for me. How long will this last? What other things cna i do to raise my white cells? Should i be drinking a lot of water?

I find that really odd - that you are having a reaction to neupogen 16 days after the shot. I believe neupogen is fast acting and does not stay in the system very long. Many cancer patients receive several shots, days in a row, to bring up the WBC levels.

I was just contacted by the NP and asked to reduce the pegasys from 180mcg to 135mcg since my WBC is 1.31 and Neutrophils .64. Any of you know if SP allows a patient to be treated with neupogen? I know they allow and pay for procrit but I'm not sure if they "allow" neupogen. I know they won't pay for neupogen but that's not the issue, my insurance would cover the cost.

has anyone had Low white blood cell beginning tx and stayed border line and no need for medication. Im in week 3, has anyone had 2700 of WBC and stayed low in tx and no medication needed. I was 4500 beginning of tx and in week 3 I'm 2700. Im 1a and going for 48 weeks, can I make it with no medicine for bringing WBC back up.

i will asume that every one dose so i would like to start by thanking you all and how impressed i am with what im reading here! Im from montreal, im still waiting for my 12th week test results, yes it was my neutrophil that whent to .00 and while i was in hospital they were giving me neupogen shots as well as iv antibiotics as i started to have a fever that took 4 days to get rid of so on 6th day they released me. So will this make me prone to some long lasting side effects after tx ?

2 The doctor wants to lower pegasys dose and has not mentioned anything about Neupogen as an alternative. Taking another blood test in the am but uncertain about the lower dose of pegasys and the if it will actually work. Ribivarin is the co pilot if you were wondering. My third week is Friday.

Do any of you have information about any long term side effects if you had Neupogen for 40 weeks?

I just read that a lot of people try NOT to take Neupogen unless it is a necessity due to sx. I am on Neupogen and I take it 3 times a week and have been taking it for 8 mos. now. Does anyone know exactly why people/anyone would want to NOT take Neupogen? Your answers may provide some insight for me and my sx's.

The Hematologist said he was going to start him on Neupogen is anyone else taking this and is it working for them. He also said that he may need a transfusion , which is freaking my husband out because that is how we suspect he contracted the Hep c orignally (back in the 80s). I told him that they screen the blood much differently now then they did back then , but he is still freaking out. Anyone who is taling Neupogen please let me know if it is helping.

low blood count started neupogen injections to build up white blood cell count so I can have chemotherapy, can I drink beer with this?

Just got the call this morning that my doctor wants to put me on Neupogen for 4 weeks because my white blood cells are so low. I'm so disappointed, I really wanted to be done shooting into myself!! Anyone else out there on this drug? I don't know a thing about it.

I am supposed to receive Neupogen tomorrow. Did my peg shot this morning. I'm sure I will get instructions with the med but it's good to get some input from those who are currently treating with it. Are we supposed to wait 24 hrs after the peg shot to inject Neup? Should I inject more slowly than I do with Peg? Docs office told me to reduce peg today to 135 mcg but I didn't (me not listen - what a revelation) because I knew I was getting the Neup tomorrow.

Have been trying to cost what a ceiling amount might be for a 12 week period to see if I can organise sufficient funds. Neupogen in prepared syringes are sold in packs of 10 - $1504 for 3000mcg/.5ml shots and $2407 for 480mcg/.5ml shots. I realise that amount required is case dependant but wouldnt mind any info which might assist me to at least get some idea of the range which may generally apply.

Hi fullmoon1, Your trial will likely have a protocol cutoff for your hgb (hemoglobin) or ANC or whatever blood component they're monitoring - my trial monitored lymphocytes - and when it drops below that, it's a dosage reduction and / or if the trial allows, a rescue drug. The level a trial uses is generally higher than if you were in general treatment. There isn't much choice in this, a trial protocol is a trial protocol.

I have been looking around and noticed similarities between the effects I am feeling and others. Especially those who took Neupogen. I took Neupogen 3 times a week for approx the last 4 months of a 6 month treatment cycle. My levels "fell off a cliff" as my doctor said, and it was either take Neupogen along with Pegasys and Ribavirin or stop treatment all together. It has been one week since the last treatment and my WBC count is 900 (ninehundred) Can they now give me a neupogen shot. I would think they should take a count daily. and give Neupogen if it till it corrects.

I have been taking the Neupogen for the entire nine months. I take Neupogen 3 times a week (tues, thurs, sat) and my counts are still low. My most recent (2/19/08) lab results are as follows: WBC 2.0 ANC 520 RBC 3.54 Hemoglobin 11.7 I am also taking Procrit every other Friday. My lowest WBC count was 1.8. I agree with nygirl, your numbers seem ok. My doctor would have put you on the Neopogen bases on your WBC and ANC. Let your doctor know that you are concerned about your numbers.

Anyone get any help with bone pain and seems like a migraine after neupogen ? I am on my second shot and it's 4:30 am and I have been up all nite with a horriable headache and severe nausea. Will call docs today and ask for something.
