Flecainide is a pretty powerful medication and Im surprised that your doctor has prescribed it so early. Flecainide can cause congestive heart failure if your heart is not strong. It did not cause me a problem but I am in pretty good physical shape and can stay on a treadmill test for over 15 minutes... I guess it would depend on your overall situation as to whether or not you should take it.. Im no doctor but its just my gut feeling that your doctor is over medicating you.

I think that degree of heart-rate reduction is normal for beta blockers, of which atenolol is one. Should you be concerned? Well, as you say you have no symptoms. But there is another angle at work here which is not that well known yet. My mother currently taking nebivolol 5mg in morning and amlodipine/perindopril 5/8mg in evening for hypertension. I have not noticed any differences in my heart rythyms , Except my heart rate has gone up. I do not feel as bad on Bystolic as metoprolo, I seem to have more dizzyness on Bystolic. I do get some chest discomfort while on Bystolic that the metoprolo kept at bay.

I spoke to a doctor and I'll get a blood test re the bruises, but she thinks it's unrelated to my cardiac history....? I am getting a catheter shunt first to treat the PDA to prevent heart failure, and then a catheter ablation on the Focal Atrial Tachycardia, which apparently has a very low success rate, but fingers crossed I'll be in that small percentile!

The med lowered my blood pressure (120/75) and lowered my heart rate (50+ bpm). I am in a way very pleased with the med. I another way I am now more aware of my PVC’s. Can it be possible that now that I have a more lower heart rate I am more aware of the PVC’s? Is it possible that when you are taking beta blockers you still can feel the PVC’s?

i took it for about 14 mths for svt ,and i found it to be ok ,there are better ones for svt ,like neiblet{nebivolol} which is a more selective for the heart ,but inderal is known to be good for migraine as well...for the first few weeks just watch standing up quick and things like that ,it is better started on a low dose and moved up as needed,,but apart from that it seems to be well tolerated by most.

Hi, All beta blockers are known to result in some degree of erectile dysfunction in males & decreased libido in females. However, nebivolol is one beta blocker which has got vasodilatory properties & hence can be one of the alternatives of carvedilol. However, you can continue taking lisinopril. 25 mg extended release, which is obviously not enough, though I feel great in terms of strength and alertness and stamina, that were all seriously diminished when I was taking Propranolol. So, now I am wondering: I definitely need to go up at least to 50 mg, but should I do a 50 mg Metoprolol once a day, or can I take the 25 mg tablets twice a day (every 12 hours).

i dont know if its related but 2 weeks before it started i was took too hospital with a fast and irregular heart beat which is still occuring at rest my heart beat will jump from 70 bpm to 140 bpm i am under diagnosis of svp or svt not sure which but am controled with nebivolol (beta blocker) but only as of 2 months ago please someone help its not in my mind thanks

where exactly is the feeling? over the heart, or over the very center in more of a vertical line? IOW, heart or aorta? I'd guess you might be feeling the effects of vasodilation. That would really be a direct effect of the drug. Nebivolol is a rare BB in that it also vasodilates... which is good because a non-dilating BB like atenolol is actually associated with *more* CVS events. It all has to likely do with what's called "central pressure".

I try being on a diet but know i am taking Crestor 20mg for triglicerides, and nebivolol 5mg for my bp. I have had some cases of high heart beat and doctors said its nothing to worry about. Record your heart rate also. I do not know how fast your heart rate was or how high your blood pressure was when your doctor prescribed the beta blocker. If it were me, I would want to know exactly what is wrong before taking beta blocker and nitros. Nitros are bad for the liver. If stress is causing your symptoms, you might want to try a vitamin B stress complex. It really does help calm. It could be that you are lacking the B vitamins from your diet.

s doc says it might caz of too much of medicine use and thy say he got water in his heart i didnt get it plz anyone can help me to understand . he is 57y old .

I have not heard of EECP, and I will certainly research it and review it with my cardiologist. You are correct in assuming that I use a regimen of drugs to treat my heart failure, including lots of nitro throughout the day. I still exercise daily, but if I try to stretch it, my symptoms are appear, and my blood sugar spikes as a result of the stress on the heart ( or so I think). It is not uncommon in these circumstances to have my blood sugar go into the 400's.

since my bypass i have had what seems to be alot of fluid in my lungs in march my heart dr did a chest xray said minimal fluid in left lung and no need to do anything but it is now july i wake up 3 times a night with lots of coughing and spitting up a white mucus no swelling in the legs or feet but abdomen is bigger but real hard i am becoming real frustrated any help would be great i am 48 5ft 10 and weigh 205

That said, palpitations don't necessarily mean anything. the heart has to be evaluated to know exactly what it is you are feeling and if what you are feeling is dangerous to your heart.

I am worried about heart failure. Do you think they would have been looking for heart failure when I went to the ER? And given the information I have given you does this sound like a possibility of heart failure?
