The only way it was portrayed to me was as a fantastic vaccine that was really needed while pregnant. I just recently had the H1N1 vaccine and the following day my right jaw was swollen. Obvisiously this was a big concern for me considering I just had the H1N1 vaccine the night before. The H1N1 vaccine is not available yet, and I don't think it's even FDA approved yet. I got the flu shot when I was p/g with DS and I will probably get one this pregnancy also. I am iffy about the H1N1 vaccine. I posted a poll on here not to long ago about it and I'm sure you could do a search for it. But for me, I think it's too new of a vaccine especially for p/g woman to recieve it. I don't know though. I'm going to talk to my OB about it at my next appt.

Every year the vaccine manufacturers have just a few months to come up with the vaccine for the prediction that year. H1N1 popped up out of nowhere in the early summer. Yes, the testing of this vaccine was rushed, but the process to make it is tried and true. The swine flu is pretty new to the human species. Apparently it appeared a decade or so ago. So few of us have any resistance to it. Because of this more people will catch it and those that do may have a more severe disease.

I think this explains my BFS, but, because I have asthma, I want to get the H1N1 vaccine. I also received the flu shot the past 2 years without any problem. If you go on Youtube and type in dangers of H1N1 vaccine you will have first hand info on the truth about the vaccine. Myself, I refuse to give it to my family!
